Great Boots! First off, these are Sorels made for snow. They are wide and somewhat clunky. However, as with most ... boots I have had they are warm and very cute. Love them! As far as sizing, a lot of the posts said these run a full size big. I really don't think so I normally wear an 8.5 or 9 and I definitely needed the 9 for length! They do however run wide. I am very happy with this purchase!
super warm utilitarian winter boot If you want a super warm totally utilitarian snow boot this is the one for you. These have the signature ... wool felt lining inside. The foot area inside runs a bit wide and they do not provide much form fitted support. I added an arch support liner to mine to fill in what was missing and use up the extra space. I normally wear a size 7 1/2 or 8 boot and the 8 fits me fine. I was concerned about the lacing system being a pain every time I put on/take off the boots but it is not. You can leave them loosely tied for easy slip on/off and they will stay on your foot properly. I tie them up tightly when I am heading out into deep snow with my dogs, which I've been doing a lot lately this winter in Cleveland! Make sure you really like this boot if you want to order it as SORELS LAST FOREVER!
Heel/ankle issues These definitely work well for really snowy or slushy days. However, if I walked to far in them, the material at the back would cut into my ankle. I shoved some old running shoe insoles between the felt liner and the ... leather/outer sole where the material cut into my achilles. That seemed to do fix it.
So disappointing Cute boot. Sizing is completely off. I have worn a size 9 for the last 20 years. Every pair of ... - and there are a lot- in my closet is a 9, spanning a wide variety of brands. The ... 9 was HUGE. No matter how many pairs of socks I put on, the shoe was never going to fit. The width was unbelievable! HUGE. I then ordered a size 8. Too small. Seriously. No half sizes? I know this isn't Piperlime's fault. I'm planning to write ... directly. Again, what a total disappointment.
Recommended- wear long socks though I wore them for the first time today in snow and I'm very happy with the purchase! It was very comfortable for a brand new shoe, didn't slip once and was able to walk in them for quite a long time. The only thing was, I didn't wear them with long socks, (was in ankle socks) and just slipped my corduroys into them... and because I was walking around in them for hours doing errands, I found that the top edges were rubbing around my lower calf area and now it feels like I have rug burn there... I think that's what it comes from and not because of how the actual ... made.. In anycase, it's a great pair of short, snow boots- just remember the long socks!
Stylish and super comfortable I'm from South Florida so can't review the warmth of these ... but they look/feel super warm and cozy. I bought them to hike during a NC Smokey Mountain vacation this coming February, so I am hoping to stay warm and DRY while hiking. The inside perimeter of the shoe is lined with faux fur and the bottom seems to have good cushion/support. They are easy to slip on and tie up. Highly recommend.
great buy! I actually got this for my mom and mind you this woman is usually very picky about most shoes being too tight for her wide feet. She wears a 6W in most shoes so I was a bit worried this would've been too tight for her. Surprisingly it wasn't! The nice rounded toe gives those who prefer a little more wiggle room, especially in when you wear thicker socks. My mom's feet is almost always cold when the weather gets chilly but she was in awe how warm these shoes kept her feet in the cold air and ice. They're actually pretty rugged but they don't look like it at all. I would definitely recommend these shoes to most!
Super soft shoes I bought it for walking on the snow. The winter in Minneapolis is so cold and this shoes are warm enough to protect my feet. I usually but size 9 shoes and after I see the previous comment, I decided to buy a size 10 ... after I try it on, I think it is a little big. I think size 9 1/2 will be perfect. The ... not too heavy, which is good.
