Love my Frye boots. These are the perfect ... They look amazing. I am 5''4 and I have slender calfs. I was worried that they were going to be to bulky around he legs after reading other reviews. I love the way they look and think they will be perfect with either leggings or skinny jeans. You will definitely need to pull these on with the ... loops at the top. A pair of nylon knee high socks were very helpful in getting them on. I love these boots they are a timeless ... well worth the $$ and will last forever!!!

Another Amazing Pair of Frye BootsI had been looking for the perfect pair of black boots forever, and I had always loved the Frye Paige Riding boots, so after searching forever (and trying not to get another pair of Frye's since I already own 3 pairs), I realized that Frye's were my favorite for a very good reason and that the Paige boots would be the way to go. These boots are AMAZING. I have very thin calves so I was slightly worried since some reviewers were commenting on how the boots were great for big calves, but since the leather is very structured and sturdy, it doesn't make the ... slouch at all. It is so hard to find black boots that do not look like combat boots or hooker boots, but these fit the bill. Plus, I love the lack of hardware with leather detailing instead, so that they are not entirely plain but still do not clash with any metals.

LOOOOVE these bootsI tried these boots on in forest green at my local Nordstroms, and then proceeded to look for a better deal on them, in black (I love the green, but it isn't practical for me). I have had these boots now for about 2 months (since December) and love them to pieces. Most Frye's have a long break in period, but these were comfortable from the start. They are still a bit difficult to get on and off, but it is manageable. I wear a size 7 in these boots, where typically I wear a 7.5 (EU 38), but the fit is very comfortable. I am not sure if maybe the ... circumference varies with the ... size, but I have very skinny legs, about a 12 - 13" calf, and these boots (because they come up to just below my knee) do not appear, or feel or even appear to be too large for my skinny legs. If you are considering buying these boots, DO IT. I love them and get tons of compliments, and as always, you can't beat Frye quality.

Just what I wanted for Christmas!!!I've been looking for the perfect ... awhile and when I found these I couldnt order them fast enough. Yes, the price is a bit high but they're worth it. I have average calves and wearing these boots with or without jeans they look great. The leather is super soft and they feel great. The only downside (if you can call it one) is the soles. These boots have just about no traction so walking in the snow gets a little tricky. In spite of that, I have absolutely no regrets about these boots!

They''re worth itLike a lot of people who have bought these boots, I was hesitant to shell out the extra money for them, but I've also been looking for the perfect brown flat boots for multiple seasons now, with nothing that struck me, until now. I got them in Cognac, size 9, which is what I generally wear for most shoes. They fit well -- don't size down. You'll regret it. I thought I might consider putting insoles in them, but it feels too tight when I do that. I also didn't run into the issue of having trouble pulling them on or off, like many others seemed to. As for the look and feel -- the leather looks rich, substantial and 'not cheap'. You can tell these boots are the real deal and will last forever. The shaft height is perfect, ending right below my knee (I am 5'8"). I admit, they are a tiny bit stiffer than I'm used to with boots out of the box, but I imagine a lot of it has to do with the fact that they're riding boots with thicker leather than average. I assume that will improve over time, as they've been breaking in gradually over the last couple weeks I've had them. The only reason I didn't give these 5 stars, vs. 4 is that my pinky toes get a little irritated after a day of wearing them. Not sure what that is about. Other than that, I love these and find them pretty stylish and comfortable. I don't regret the expense one bit.

I''m in loveI was so excited to get them in the mail that I walked around in my shorts with the boots on all day. The leather is beautiful. The fit is to be expected. I have a high instep so getting them on is a little struggle but once they are on they are awesome. You wont be disappointed.

Not super impressedOk, so I splurged and bought the paige tall riding ... cognac. They kept pushing back the delivery so I was supposed to get it in December but ended up getting today. The leather smells wonderful and is very thick. Runs true to size to slightly big. I like the length as I am 5'9". But three things I don't like: The profile shape of the base of the ... not very flattering; I mean, they start the shaft before or at my arch and about 1 and a half inches before my ankle, so that it makes my lower leg look wide from the side at the ankle, sort of like rain boots. 2) the heel is so short that I thought I would like it, being tall and all, but it is not very flattering and 3) the extra layer of leather makes the frontal view of the ... very wide, which is also not flattering--at least for me. I normally have long slender legs but these boots actually make me look shorter and chunkier, by stopping the visual line that normally runs along my legs (not good for me since this is really my main asset! Lastly, they are just not sexy or cute. So if you are looking for sexy or cute, keep looking! If you want everyday casual boots, these may work. If these were way cheaper I would keep them, but for the price I want to like them WAY more than I do! Bummer I have to send them back after waiting so long! Maybe sometime I'll try the Melissa Button boots....

Disappointed...These boots are gorgeous but not for short people! I'm 5'3" and the boots are just too tall for me. They came all the way up to my knees which was not flattering or cute. I would say that anyone under 5'5'' would have the same problem. I got the boots in cognac and the leather is beautiful. Boots are very nicely made. Very disappointed I had to return these!!

This is a really nice ... , it was a half size big i usually wear a 7 1/2 but cld have gone to a 7 in these boots. Only flaw was the shaft was too high and the extra flap of leather on the ront made my legs look very wide from the front , had they been a lil more tapered to the leg and half an inch lower in the shaft i wld have kept them but sadly had to return

Not worth the moneyI have read other reviews, besides the ones available from piperlime and there seems to be a problem with the sole wearing out on them. I thought maybe those reviews were just a fluke...I mean the shoes are over [$]! Well, my stepfather loves cowboy boots and actually takes all of his shoes to a specific cobbler. The first thing he said when I took the shoes out of the box was,"You're going to need to get something to put on the soles of those because they will wear out if you don't." I went down a half size and they are still too big on me and I have way too much room even with thick socks. I wear a 6, went down to 5 1/2 and they don't come any smaller so I am out of luck there. My last problem was the height of these shoes. I'm short and petite (5'1" and 105 lbs) these go too high on my legs and are a little too wide around the calves. I had to return them. They are nice, just definitely not worth the money.

Didn''t work for meThe boots are beautiful, in the box, or standing on their own, but I had to return these. They were way to high on my calves, and I'm 5'7" (so not a shrimp). The double layer on the shaft also looked strange -- my boyfriend and I agreed they sort of resembled galoshes.

Can''t wait for fall! These boots are beautiful and fit like a dream. I have a muscular 14 1/2 inch calf muscle so I have difficulty finding knee high boots that fit well. These are high quality and well worth the money. Though I am waiting for fall to wear them out, I am sure that I will get years of use from these classically styled boots.

LOVE!!!I have been wanting these boots for over a year now and I finally took the plunge! I read every single review available on Piperlime and other websites before I purchased these boots because they do cost a lot of money. However, I believe that quality shoes are worth the investment and I hope this pair of Frye's is no exception to the rule. I am 5"8 and wear a size 10 in all shoes so naturally I ordered a size 10-they fit like a glove. My legs are average and they fit perfectly around my calves and there is still room to wear with slim to skinny pants. The arch is nice but might feel like there's a bump under your foot if you don't have a high arch. They are slick on the bottom, but just need to be scuffed up on some gravel. I ordered them in cognac and the color is beautiful and they smell just like the leather goods sold from the vendors in Italy. I love them and recommend to anyone who wants a quality ...

Love these bootsI purchased the Melissa button in distressed chocolate. They look like they are very worn in. I wasn't 100% sure that I would like that, but I didn't want smooth, shiny boots this time. I love them. The color is so dark that they go nicely with black and brown and also gray and any other color. I am 5'1" and the shaft height is perfect for me. About 1 1/2 inches below my knee. They were easy for me to put on and take off - I didn't have the same issues some have had, but I think the distressed chocolate may already be softened from the process. I bought non skid adhesive grips for the bottom and never once had an issue with sliding or slipping even though the bottoms are slick. My daughter and I went to look at other colors and the more smooth styles kind of look like rain boots at first, but the distressed don't. I'm sure the vintage style would not either. I was very nervous to spend so much on one pair of boots - I'm frugal. But these boots are such a classic style and so well made, I'm sure I will wear them for the rest of my life. I love how they look. I wasn't sure I was a boots and dress type of girl, but I am with these boots! I kept looking at other boots in the $150-$200 range and nothing grabbed me like these did.I don't regret spending the money, and bought these during a 20% off sale, which did help a little. Go for it!

love them! They are so beautiful and perfect. The leather takes a few wears to break in to where it's comfortable, but they are so worth it. The height is perfect if you tend to have problems with the regular height boots. Most riding boots generally come a little too high, hitting the bottom of my knee, but these are perfect.

Love them- worth the price! If you are reading this, it means you are seriously debating ordering these boots. I want to tell you, DO IT! You won't regret it. I ordered the Melissa button ... black hoping for a nice, timeless yet hip black ... winter. I wanted something that wasn't too matronly and buttoned up, that I could wear with skinny jeans, leggings, and short dresses. Maybe a bare leg if the weather was nice. :) I also ride horses and don't want to spend the money for riding boots so these will be great for that too- and there is nothing like a little horse poo to make your boots look even more lived in and loved! :) I have always loved the style of the Frye campus but it is a little too biker chic for my everyday need or wearing to work. So I ordered Melissa and I wasn't disappointed! These boots arrived and it was obvious they were a great quality product. Very thick, supple leather, heavy yet flexible and I just know they will wear wonderfully once they are broken in! And the smell! Oh, heavenly! I keep getting whiffs of it and I just smile. :) As for sizing, I am usually a 7 but as most reviewers suggested, I bought a 6.5 and immediately one went on easily. The other one was a little tighter and I had to use the plastic bag trick (I think one of my feet is larger than the other- it wasn't a flaw with the ... They were comfortable right off the bat and didn't rub or squeeze too much with a thin sock and jeans on. I should mention that I have an impossibly high instep and the first night I got them, I wore a thicker sock with my skinny jeans and I could feel the tightness in my instep, but today I wore tights and they were great all day. I am a petite 5'2', 115 with thin calves and the tops of the boots are nicely snug so if you have any concerns about your calf width, try the extended calf. Usually high boots like these are baggy on me but these fit well at the top, although by the ankle there is ample room. I love these and can't wait to wear them for years to come!!!!!!!

Stylish ... Looks Great Dressed Up or Down (with jeans) Love, love, love these boots. It's my first pair of Fryes and I really hestitated to shell out the money, but I feel that I certainly got my money's worth. Very high quality ... They look cute with my dress pants and skirts and even better with good ole blue jeans. Best part - a very compfortable ...

Best boots everThese are my first Frye boots and will not be the last. The boots are a little narrow but the leather will stretch out soon. I have only worn them twice. Some people were mentioning that if you have a high arch the boots would be hard to get in, not true. I have a higher arch than most people and the boots slide right in. My usual size is between 9 or 9 1/2, I ordered the 9 and it fit perfectly. Another issue is the calf - my calves are 14.5 inches and I still have plenty of space to fit skinny jeans and leggings definitely not an issue. These boots are gorgeous - I got them in cognac. The only issue I have with the boots is they scuff very easily, i guess it adds to the character of the ... buy the wax Frye sells to protect them.

Great ... some challenges These are great boots--gorgeous, in fact. They are difficult to get on and off (I have a high instep) and they have a bit of a hump on the sole where the heel meets the rest of the ... which can be a bit uncomfortable if you are doing a lot of walking. But overall they are worth it. I think they run a bit large in size so I'd order a half size down or just roll with the extra toe space.

Just lovely, but Fryes run huge. (Long review because I think such a high price warrants knowing details of what you''re buying!)I wish I could give these a 4.5 - the appearance is nearly perfect, but all Frye boots have fit/sizing quirks that sort of get on my nerves. If they were cheaper, this would be excusable, but for the price, those quirks warrant a 4. If you're reading the reviews, you probably want to know about those negative or unexpected aspects before spending over $300, so I'll mention those first (but that doesn't mean that the positive doesn't outweigh the negative or that I would change much about these boots). I'm still keeping them, and it was still worth it [...]. NOT SO-GOOD: 1. The soles seem relatively durable (some Frye boots have thinner soles than I like), which is nice, but lots of Fryes have pretty smooth bottoms, so be careful with them on slippery surfaces when they're new - the traction will be questionable until you scuff up the soles yourself a bit. 2. Like with all Frye boots I've tried on, it was tough to get my foot to fit through the ankle of the ... but the pull tabs help a ton. (Getting them off is even harder, but it's worth it. I think that aspect of the fit prevents you from interrupting this really smooth leather silhouette with zippers or gores while making for a good, stable fit once they are on.) 3. Along the same lines, I have pretty average calves - not tiny, but I rarely have trouble with any boots not fitting over them - and I never need a wide shaft ... but these come close to being too tight (just barely enough space to cram jeans in with no room left over), so if your calves are bigger, you may not like these. 4. Most important to know: the sizing. I wear an 8 in almost every flat or heel, an 8-8.5 in most boots (sometimes need extra sock room) and 8.5-9 in running shoes. The 8 in Fryes leaves at least an inch between my big toe and the end of the shoe (even with moderately thick socks). I have a 7.5 in these and it's still quite roomy in the toe box - I could go smaller if I had narrow feet and skinny calves, but if I went down more with my foot shape the midfoot would be super tight. I'm sticking with the 7.5 and there will be nice room for socks and toe wiggling... and maybe insoles because arch support in Fryes isn't great (but then again my extreme over pronation makes me picky). (They might add some of this extra toe room intentionally - I think I'm used to less since modern shoes, especially nice women's shoes, tend to love the narrow toe box, which is what we're all used to, but in the end it's better for your feet if your toes can spread naturally and aren't crammed up against anything.) Now for the really GOOD aspects: 1. Like all the Frye boots I've seen, these have beautiful leather. It looks like you could never wear it out. I have the Fawn color, and I love it. I didn't want a high polish appearance; I wanted a soft looking (but not super distressed) brown, medium dark, and that's exactly what I got. It's not a very warm brown - there's an underlying dark greyish hue - but I like that because the color is really neutral while still being attractive on its own. Perfect and will match about anything. 2. The simple silhouette is really nice (if you, like me, are not a huge fan of cowboyish or overly rugged-and chunky silhouettes). 3. Short girls like me, take note: I'm not quite-5'4" and not leggy (~30 inch inseam), and there are many beautiful knee high Frye ... styles that I can't wear at all because the shaft comes all the way to the middle of my knee. However these hit just where they should! Yay! (Also good for short girls who want knee high Fryes - the Shirley Riding ... [not the over knee Shirley, but the knee high one with two buckles] which has a top that is made so that it can be cuffed down to a reasonable height. (If you're tall/leggy, know that the Melissa boots will probably not come all the way up to right below your knee.) [...]

Beautiful ... too short though These boots were beautiful, great quality leather and would have been exactly what I was looking for, but as other tall people have noted, they just do not come up high enough on my calf. I am 5'8, and these boots just looked odd when I put them on because they hit to low on my calf. I returned them immediately.

Beautiful shoe, but not tall enough for me.As stated by most reviewers, this is a beautiful, well made ... Love the color. I found it a bit tricky to pull on the first time, but everything I've read says that the leather stretches out and conforms to your foot which I could totally see. However, I'm sending them back for the sole reason hat the shaft of the ... bit too short for my liking. I am 5'9" and wear a size 8 and the ... just doesn't come up high enough on my leg. I'm going to try another pair from Frye though absolutely.

No Regrets! These boots are AWESOME! I contemplated for days about buying them because they were so expensive. I have never paid that much for a pair of boots but they were worth every cent and I am soooo proud of them. They were exactly what I was looking for and after shopping around I kept coming back to these. I took the other reviews into consideration and ordered a half size larger than usual and was glad I did because they were a little narrow but fit perfect going with a half size larger. They are beautiful. I wear them with everything....dresses, skirts, jeans, riding pants, etc. and really wish that I could afford to buy them in brown too. I am very satisfied and have no regrets. I highly recommend buying these boots to anyone who may be thinking about buying a pair. They ROCK!

Frye Boots i gotNormally ordering online for shoes is not that easy , the size might not fit or the color not as same you see in images. I was looking for boots for months and the reason it took that long for me to find my favorite boots is that i am so picky.since i found piperlime i dont go out for shopping or surfing in net .Youcan find everything u looking for here .Piperlime made shopping easier for me. Any time i need something i know i will find it here .These boots are very well made...good material..comfortable..and beautifull.

The perfect flat ... I'm addicted to these boots - I can't help it. I wanted a beautiful, versatile flat ... actually hit my knee and I've found them. I love these boots so much that I bought 2 pair - 1 in dark brown + 1 in sand. Both are to die for. The fit is perfect + yes the bottom is slippery for like 5 seconds but once you wear them outside, they're fine. I've worn them with jeans, skirts, leggings and without fail, total strangers compliment me on these exceptional boots.

What a nice ... I bought these Frye boots in black last year and I’m very pleased with my purchase. They’re really well made. The leather is so soft. And they were immediately comfortable (no painful breaking in!). I’ve had trouble with boots like this in the past, because my calves are a little wide. But these are nice and roomy. Even with jeans tucked in! Can’t say enough good things about these boots. I’m officially a Frye fan.

Frye Dorado Riding ... I searched for gray boots for two years, and tried many on during this time. I always found myself coming back to look at the Dorado Riding boots. I could never justify purchasing them because of the price; I finally decided to try them. I was lucky and have several coupons and discounts that I could use that made the price more tolerable to the checkbook. I had to send the first pair back because they had a huge scuff on one. The first pair were a little snug in the foot bed, I was so disappointed because the boots are gorgeous in person. Piperlime was great, I returned the first pair and received the second pair (scuff free!) When I tried them on, the foot bed felt better. I finally had the chance to wear these boots, they are well worth the price. They are so comfortable, look classy and I have received several compliments on them already. This is my first Frye purchase, but they definitely live up to what I have heard about them!

Great BootsI absolutely love these boots! I have been searching for a pair of riding boots for almost a year, and I kept returning back to these. I've never spent so much money on a pair of boots, but the craftmanship and look made them worth every penny. I'm 6'1, and all legs, so finding a ... doesn't stop mid calf is difficult. They are a little loose around the calf which leaves enough room for jeans. These are almost knee high (an inch or two short), which is the best I've found. The only thing I wasn't expecting was that they are a little "floppier" than they look in the picture. It isn't a deal breaker, the leather is just much softer than I thought it would be.

GorgeousThis ... absolutely gorgeous. It didn't work for me because it came up too high (started to cover my knee) and I had to return them. I still miss looking at them. They are extremely well made and comfortable.

Beautiful...but not for shorties.I read the reviews prior to ordering these gorgeous boots; I was fully aware that they could be too tall. But, they are exactly what I had envisioned as my dream boots, so I ordered them anyway. They are, indeed, just lovely boots. Stunning, really. But, they were snug on my very skinny, AA, feet and wide on my AAA heel. Plus, they were too tall for someone who's 5'3. Sadly, I returned them. But, I had to give them a shot and know for sure....If they had fit well, I would have thought them well worth their priciness.

Gorgeous boots just SOO uncomfortableI loved these boots. I was stalking these boots for weeks, but being so expensive I never had the nerve to buy them. I finally decided, after weeks of looking at them online, that "I'm worth it" and bought them. I ended up ordering the black ones in a 9.5 and the dark brown ones in a 9. I am a true size 9, but after reading all the reviews I wasn't sure which would fit better. The black ones arrived first. The 9.5 was too long but because of that it fit the width of my foot. But with that being said they were still way too long and my heel slipped a lot because they were just too big. Also the black looked too much like a motorcycle ... going more for an equestrian look. I returned them and waited for the other pair. When the brown ones arrived I was so excited. The look was PERFECT. The style of this ... beautiful and just what I was looking for in a riding ... Unfortunately, the fit is wear it lacks. It is SO NARROW that it squeezed my foot so much it was throbbing. I thought I could stretch them out, but after DAYS of walking around the house it wasn't much better. They are just too expensive to hope that they stretch out, I had to return them. Even though I loved them and wanted them to work in the worst way, they had to go back. They were just too uncomfortable. I'll miss you Dorado boots.

this is my first frye purchase. i had been eyeing these boots for a while and have heard so many good things about frye quality. they look wonderful in person. they do run narrow, so while they are true to size, if you have wide feet, go a half size up. i bought true to size(it was the only size avail. at the time...=) and am stretching them to make them more comfortable. they are also tall boots. i am 5'3 and the boots come slightly up my knee(not quite below the knee ... also, like other reviewers, the back of the heel is loose. i put in back of the heel inserts(you can get this at any drugstore) to prevent slipping/blisters and this solves the problem. so all in all, while its a lovely ... does require some work to get it to the comfort level that i wanted.

My Favorite FryesI bought these boots at the end of last winter, and they are one of my all time favorite pairs of boots. They work out of skinny jeans or under bootcut, and are extremely comfortable. I didn't find them stiff at all. The maple leather is gorgeous. I am a pretty true 8, but can go down to a 7.5 in Fryes. I did buy the 8 in these, but 7.5 probably would have worked fine too. HIghly recommend these boots.

Great mid calf bootsI purchased these boots because I wanted something between 'high boots' and cowgirl boots, and they are perfect. I agree with another review that the ... fits loosely in the ankle/leg, but I don't think this is unusual for shorter/mid calf ... styles. I have thin ankles and calves, and I like the roominess for comfort and a more casual style. I purchased the dark brown, which has a slightly worn in feel out of the box - nice! This is my third pair of Fryes, and I find all Fryes wear beautifully, fit consistently, shape to your foot over time (if they feel a little tight at any one spot upon initially trying on, wear them for 30 min in your house on smooth surfaces, and they will loosen up quickly), and score high points for timeless style. I am a size 8.5-9 med width, and Frye boots in a 9 are perfect. The Heath ... fits more like a cowgirl ... slight amount of slip in the heel. Bottom line, if you want a versatile ... less aggressive than an engineer, harness, or cowgirl style and lower than a typical full calf style, this is your ... great bootsi have been wanting these boots for a year now. i ordered them once and i felt a lil pressure on the top of my one foot. so i thought maybe something was wrong w/ that pair. i returned them and then couldn't get them out of my mind so ordered another pair a couple weeks later. again, same thing - it was almost like the material in the front of the ... wasn't high enough for my foot to feel comfy. so i returned again - couldn't see spending that much money on them and they didn't fit perfectly. so now it's another year and winter is coming so i thought i'd give it one more try and THEY FIT.... PERFECTLY. i am thrilled. they are so comfy, perfect heel height, great color, soft on the part that hits your shin and durable at your feet. i hope they last me forever!

Worth the money!Frye boots are one of the best made boots ever. I have had many pairs of Frye boots and loved every pair. Compared to the Frye Campus ... style runs a little narrow in the toe box. The leather will give and break in with wear. I would recommend sizing up if your foot is wide.

Instant comfortThese boots are absolute comfort from the first step you take with them. They are my sneakers in ... shape. Leather is very soft, great color and very good craftsmanship. They fit true to size. I own about I don't know how many boots from various companies and I love them all, but the Frye Heath tops them all. They are the best pair I have now. My feet never get tired and I recommend them to everyone who likes boots. Look no further, because if you buy these you are all set. Congrats to Frye.

Fabulous! Go for it!I was very anxious about purchasing these boots at this price. BUT, I am totally impressed. Frye boots are fabulous! The color is fantastic, the leather is soft and the style is great. I wore them ALL day yesterday and they felt great. I did order a half size smaller than normal and that proved to be very wise. Save your $$$ and buy these boots. You will be so pleased.

very niceThese boots are soft leather so they worked really well for me because I have one foot that has a width problem. The soft leather stretched just right for the wide foot to be comfy. The description says tall ... but they are not really tall so make sure you know that these are only about 11 inches high. Surprised they were made in Mexico, but I am still glad I bought them cause they are cute and comfortable.

These are great boots. Wonderful quality. I can imagine these boots being part of your wardrobe for a long time. They just weren't what I was looking for. I didn't like the shorter height - not making it to the knee and found them too slouchy for my liking. My calves are about 14 inches and i ordered a 9 - my usual ... size. They were just right for boots. A little roomy and pretty comfortable. The only thing that bothered me was the seaming on the inside around my ankle. It was a little rough. I have very narrow heals so the up and down movement was bothersome. This could probably be fixed with an insole. My zipper went up and down smoothly and was good looking.

Love Love Love these bootsI've never owned tall boots in my life. I have athletic calves and they've never been able to fit into zippered, tall boots. There were some misgivings as to ordering these boots, but since Piperlime is so good about returns, I decided to order these---after a heavy research period and extensive pondering! I am ECSTATIC over these boots. They fit perfectly (I ordered my regular 8.5 size), I can wear them with thicker socks if needed, plus I can tuck jeans inside them. The leather is positively gorgeous, not to mention the finish. I highly recommend these boots, specially to those girls who have thicker calves who want a stylish look. I got these for an upcoming trip to NYC, fully expecting heavy walking and cold weather. They already feel comfortable, and am sure won't disappoint!

Over the Moon!I have been eyeing these boots for over a year and finally gave in and purchased them. I own a similar style Frye ... absolutely love the fit and quality of those, that is why I had no hesitation about purchasing these online. In true Frye fashion, these did not disappoint. I am 6'0 tall and wear a size 10-11. I ordered these in an 11. They fit perfectly and come just below my knee with the cuff up as my legs are long. The shaft fits my calves snugly (my calves are a little larger than average but I do not have trouble with most boots fitting) with room for tights or skinny jeans. The leather is deliciously soft, and the slate color is such that it goes with black or brown seamlessly. They are EXTREMELY hard to put on the first couple of times, but I put a plastic bag on my feet and the boots slid on like buttah! I know, I know, I felt silly with bags on my feet too, but they get easier to put on after a couple of times. I wore them for hours the first time and had no discomfort whatsoever. If you are considering these I say GO FOR IT! They are a classic style and will last a lifetime if well cared for.

MAGIC WAY TO GET THESE BEAUTIFUL BOOTS ON!These boots, and also the Melissa boots, are very hard to pull on because they're narrow at the ankle. But I have the answer! While trying on boots in a dept store, and struggling to get them on, the sales assistant gave me a plastic bag. She had me put the plastic bag, unopened, inside the ... back of the ... then put my foot on top of the plastic and slide in. Worked like magic. Just remove the plastic after you've got the ... (it'll slip out from behind your leg easily).

Classic! These boots are classic- great height (not quite over the knee on me- I've got really long calves) but still tall enough to look chic. They're just as pictured in terms of color- but look a little more weathered. I can't tell if that's the shipping wax or how they'll always look. I expect they'll even out, tone wise, as I wear them in. Overall, this is a great pair of boots that will go great with a number of outfits and colors- I can't wait for fall so I can wear them out!

best boots ever!I have many Frye boots which as many of you who have already purchased them know, some styles take some time to break them in, not these boots. They are soft and comfortable, however, if your legs are a bit wide or you have a wide foot, these boots may not be for you. I'm 5'3 and have skinny legs. I absolutely love them and they look great. I love the slate color too. The boots are covered with a powder to enhance the distressed look. I have no problems putting them on. The heel is absolute devine - great support.

I own several pair of frye boots, I love these as much as my others. The leather is high quality, and the overall fit is great. I have had several compliments on them already!

Beautiful, high quality bootsThese boots made my outfit look better. No joke. I was wearing black leggings, a flowy shirt, and a blazer, and the outfit was cute but off. When I tried these on, the effect was immediate. WOW. Everything just seemed to come together, just because of these boots. Maybe it's the leather, which is buttery, flexible, and gorgeously colored. Or the length of the ... itself. I am 5'4" with shorter legs, and the top reaches right up above my knees. The boots look cute folded down for a more casual look, but folded up, they really make the legs look longer and slimmer. The color is also beautiful. The slate is a muted grey with darker spots of brown. The result is that it goes with virtually any outfit that has earthy tones. Like the previous reviewer, my right ... slips in fine, but the left ... took some work to get on. Not sure why. I've been wearing them for about a few weeks now, and the left ... easier to put on, though. Overall, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I was skeptical about the quality level of Frye, but now I am a convert! I will most definitely treat myself to another pair when I save up enough. :)

Beautiful bootsThese boots are wonderful. They hit right at the knee cap, which I like because it follows the current over the-knee trend, but is not too dramatic. They are great with skirts. These boots are difficult to put on and take off at first, but loosen up with a bit of wear. If you have trouble, try putting your foot in a plastic bag, then slipping your foot in the ... pulling the bag out. Your foot should glide right in.

love love love these bootsI just received these boots and i am in love with them! The leather is beautiful, and the style is just perfect. this is my fourth pair of frye boots and i think they are my favorite! the leather is a little stiff at first but as with most frye boots i think they will soften up after a few wears

Well worth the moneyI absolutley love these boots. They are so worth the money!! It is so worth the splurge because these are boots I am going to get millions of use out of. These look great every way possible...with leggings, jeans, jeggings, sweater dresses, ect. I have worn them rolled up and down and I have yet to wear them without receiving a bunch of compliments. I bought the grey simply because I generally don't wear a lot of black and I love how versatile the color is. I also love that this is a relatively low heel. I typically wear a 3-4 inch daily and this is a great height to wear for long periods of time.

Gorgeous!Gorgeous boots! I love Frye boots. I always feel I've made a wise investment when buying them. I was also pleasantly surprised when they fit well around my thick ankles. They were a little trouble to pull on, but so worth it!

I wasn't sure about these at first, but these boots won me over. The break in part was a little tough. I got some blisters the first three times I wore them. Getting them on is still a little hard. Once on, though, they're great. The color is a very warm grey, pretty close to a brown/taupe, really. I used Frye waterproofing balm on them, which darkened the color and evened it out a little, too. The leather seems thick and sturdy - upscale yet casual. I wear them with a few different skirts, but more often with jeans tucked in. I never, ever wear them with the cuff folded - don't like that at all. It messes with the line of the ... looks a little pirate esque to me. I was a little disappointed to see that my pair of boots was made in Mexico and not the US. Overall, though, I'm happy I got them.
