Once again the UK has a superior product I just received the boots and love them. They will do just what they are designed to do, and of course in silver they'll look more fashionable than usual while doing it. I ordered the US size 7/8 EU 39, and in the US I generally wear a 9 in most shoes (very occasionally an 8.5 and my foot is 10", while standing, from toe to back of heel/ankle where the heel rounds out over the sole of the heel itself). With the smaller size (smaller by 1 whole size), I still have almost a full thumb's width of room between my big toe and the end of the toe box; plenty of room for a pair or 2 of wool socks. The ... shaft comes to around 2-3" below my knee (and I am 5'8"), so very petite women may not find these boots comfortable. Also, if you have very large leg calves or are a larger woman (e.g. if you are a plus size), these boots may shove some of the flesh up above the rim of the ... even though they may fit OK, getting the boots off after your skin has been breathing will take some work. These boots measure approximately 15.5" at the outer circumference at the top of the ... 1/8" thick (not including the decorative braid that runs the outside of the ... top), but since they are made of a ... compound, there is some stretch. If you buy them and find you might be happier with the larger size, return them and see if the ... shaft is also a little larger. I could only measure the size I actually bought, so these are the only measurements I have.
Great, with minor flaws I've spent a lot of time researching Hunter boots. They are waterproof, and comfortable even after standing for 8 hours in them, which is awesome. They run large. I wear between and 9 1/2-10 in normal shoes. I bought a nine, and they are still roomy in the foot. I wear them with thick socks and the problem is solved. I tried on an 8 but it was too snug in the calf. I don't have that problem in the 9. Now, when it comes to color, here's what to expect. Hunter injects wax into the rubber before the boots are formed. This is to help protect the latex and keep it from degrading. In lighter colored boots the wax is not really noticeable. However, I purchased these in black, and also went to Nordstrom to look at the Hunter boots they had on display. All of the dark color ones, including mine from Piperlime definitely show the wax. It gives the boots a dusty look. None of them looked like the boots pictured with that nice glossy shine. And getting rid of the dusty look is not as easy as Hunter says it is. I tried soap and water, I also purchased a ... UV spray similar to one recommended by hunter, and nothing worked. I also tried olive oil, and had the best success with that, but there were still some streaks, and it took a long time to work in the oil into the boots. I'm also not sure if Olive oil degrades latex, so I'm not sure if it's a good idea to use it on a regular basis. My point in this long review is that anyone who buys a pair of dark colored Hunters should just be prepared that they are going to have a dusty look to them, and no matter what you do, it's never going to completely go away. If you don't mind that, I highly recommend these boots. If you have your heart set on the glossy look though, you're going to be disappointed.
Boo for Hunter Boots! I'm so disappointed in these boots. Based on most of the reviews, I thought for sure that I was purchasing what would be a practical yet chic winter ... ordered a size small per the advice that the ... ran very large. When they arrived, the first thing that I noticed was the waxy appearance that some reviewers mentioned. Not only did this make the boots look cheap, it just turned me off right off the bat because they looked more dull gray vs. black. I thought I would give them a try though. Once I put the ... like a ... suction cup to my skin! It was nearly impossible to pull these off of my leg. Now, I am a short girl with muscular calves but I do not have chubby legs and I felt like these ... were extremely narrow for an adult size. However, if I would have ordered a size up, they would have been too big in the foot. And forget about the Hunter fleece ... socks that I bought to go with them...there was no way I could shimmy those in and still get these ... off easily! Kinda sad beause they looked adorable online and I loved the idea of switching the socks now and then to give them a different look. Needless to say, I returned the ... socks. These might work for you if you have toothpick legs but other than that, don't count on it!
Love your Hunters? Well, don't forget the socks. These ultra-soft fleece boot liners will keep your feet cozy and warm. So, go on, pick a color. Mix and match. Have fun. (You can even show your school spirit!)
My New Favs I have never had a better pair of boots before. I had to take out the insoles because they kept sliding around, but otherwise I have been very pleased with these boots. They keep my feet a little warmer than other rain boots I have owned. It snows a lot where I live and these have been perfect in the rain, snow, slush, etc. Also they grip really well and I have yet to slip when walking to class.
love ''em! I just got these and can't wait to wear them in the rain. These boots run large and I took the other reviews into account and ordered an 8 (eu 39), but I usually wear 8.5 or 9. Love the furry lining. Fit without socks is fine (a little loose in the heel as mentioned in another review), but socks should fix that. These boots hit mid calf and I have wide calves, and there's still room! Bring on the rain puddles!
LOVE LOVE LOVE I love these boots. They're soooooooo soft in the inside and very comfortable. I don't really like to wear boots, but these are great! Would definitely recommend these to everyone!
Excellent Rain ... These boots are excellent. They are warm and fuzzy, so you can even wear them in the winter snow and slush! Mid calf, with a nice wide opening. Very solid boots for the price!
too big on me Just got them in. Ordered the 7 and is too large. My normal size is 7, and considering there's fur lining.. I figured it is the right size to order because I plan on wearing thick socks. Even with thick socks, my feet slide out and up when walking. I really wanted to keep these, but sadly I have to return them. I like the color, style.. but it does have that yucky rubber smell at first. I took off 1 star because of the fit. I need go down a size to 6.
super cute, but not a good fit These boots are super cute! The best rain ... I've seen, however... I have high arches,, and these boots were snug right around my arches.. the width is good, and there's plenty of room around the calf.. it's just around my arches. It was rubbing the top of my foot and it was hurting. I had to return them. I would say these are super cute and great if you have flat feet or a low arch..
A lasting impression of perfection!!! These rain boots are probably one of the best rain boots I have ever bought. They are very useful for snow, rain, slush, or whatever else you would like to use them for. I have to admit I had a hard time trying to figure out the proper size I should get because the site gives the wrong sizing chart. So this is how the sizing works: 36(US women's 5), 37( US women's 6), 38(US women's 7), 39(US women's 8), 40(US women's 9), 41(US women's 10), 42(US women's 11). Hope this is useful! And GOOOD LUCK : )
Heavy and Clunky I bought these boots out of necessity, for the extreme cold winter we are experiencing this year.They feel a bit too heavy and clunky, not the most comfortable and easy rubber boots to wear. The fake fur is not thick enough, not sure why it is there? I just hope I won't get it wet.The sizing seems off too, i ordered a US 5 but it feels like a size 6 and they are a bit too wide to my liking. I kept it, i just add a pair of thicker socks so it doesn't slip off of my feet. Looks sturdy to last thru this spring and next winter, hopefully.
Sad to send them back! I loved these boots saw them on someone and hunted them down online. When i got them they were true to size but i felt discomfort at the top of my foot. The ... pressing really hard into the top of my foot and i couldn't flex my ankle so i decided to send them back. Otherwise they were great!
Wanted to Like I really wanted to like and keep these boots. I liked that they are water proof and warmly lined. They are warm because of the lining, but I wore them about 3 times and around the house and every time the pulled my socks all the way off. Very annoying, especially if you want to walk somewhat of a distance. My feet are more narrow, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference. Hope this helps.
Yikes! My title says it all -- these boots are most definitely being returned. The outside ... quality is good, which is as expected from Tretorn. No icky plastic smell that some other rainboots have. But the inside fleece lining pilled as soon as I lifted the shoe from the box. It left fleece residue all over my jeans and socks when I tried the shoes on. Even worse, the opening for my foot is ridiculously wide; my ankles look like skinny reeds in a pond! If I wore the shoes out, for sure rain would collect inside the ... b/c the opening is so large. I'm petite and my calves are on the smaller side, but this was just a ridiculous fit. So these are going to be returned asap. (FYI, I much preferred the Tretorn Kellys.)
