Perfect riding ... Wish I Could Give 100 Stars!! ... so perfect that I now own 2 pair. The height is just right (I'm 5'7") and the ... hits just at the bottom of my knee. The leather? Soft, exceptional - really just lovely. I have had total strangers stop me on the street to comment about the ... couldn't be more pleased.

Frye Dorado Riding ... I searched for gray ... two years, and tried many on during this time. I always found myself coming back to look at the Dorado Riding ... could never justify purchasing ... because of the price; I finally decided to try ... lucky and have several coupons and discounts that I could use that made the price more tolerable to the checkbook. I had to send the first pair back because ... had a huge scuff on one. The first pair were a little snug in the foot bed, I was so disappointed because the ... gorgeous in person. Piperlime was great, I returned the first pair and received the second pair (scuff free!) When I tried ... foot bed felt better. I finally had the chance to wear ... well worth the price. ... so comfortable, look classy and I have received several compliments on ... already. This is my first Frye purchase, but ... definitely live up to what I have heard about ...

Highly RecommendedI purchased the brown Frye Dorando Riding ... over the holidays and ... very nice. I went with a half size up, which I would not recommend, because there is plenty of room in ... color is great against the leather and you can wear ... dress or a pair of jeans. I would highly recommend purchasing the Dorando!

Gorgeous ... just SOO uncomfortable I loved ... stalking ... weeks, but being so expensive I never had the nerve to buy ... finally decided, after weeks of looking at ... online, that "I'm worth it" and bought ... ended up ordering the black ones in a 9.5 and the dark brown ones in a 9. I am a true size 9, ... after reading all the reviews I wasn't sure which would fit better. The black ones arrived first. The 9.5 was too long ... because of that it fit the width of my foot. ... being said ... were still way too long and my heel slipped a lot because ... were just too big. Also the black looked too much like a motorcycle ... going more for an equestrian look. I returned ... waited for the other pair. When the brown ones arrived I was so excited. The look was PERFECT. The style of this ... beautiful and just what I was looking for in a riding ... Unfortunately, the fit is wear it lacks. It is SO NARROW that it squeezed my foot so much it was throbbing. I thought I could stretch ... out, ... after DAYS of walking around the house it wasn't much better. ... just too expensive to hope that ... stretch out, I had to return ... Even though I loved ... wanted ... work in the worst way, ... had to go back. ... were just too uncomfortable. I'll miss you Dorado ...

Finally!!I have been looking for the perfect pair of congac riding ... 2 years and I finally found them. The key for me was sizing down a half size. I almost always wear an 8 which is the size I originally ordered for these. When I recieved them I loved the ... but they felt too clunky and they were too tall. I was really disappointed because I knew these were the ... wanted but I didn't think they were going to work for me. I decided to go ahead and try the 7.5 since piperlime is great with returns but luckily they were perfect. I recieved my ... November and love them even more today!

Great quality, worth the price! My husband recently bought me the Paige Tall Riding ... cognac for my birthday. I am 5'4 and have an average to slim build. ... fit true to size and are absolutely stunning. The leather is soft and the color is so rich. ... hit right below the knee and there is just enough room for skinny jeans or leggings inside. ... were definitely an investment and will be a wardrobe staple for years to come!

Sooo pleased!!!I'm in love!!! I have been on a "perfect riding ... hunt for months and AHHHH I finally found it in the paige ... ordered the cognac color and love the color. ... so comfortable too. ... go with everything..black, brown, dress up, dress down. I will live in ... fall to spring! ... worth the $ and will be a staple in my closet.

Another Amazing Pair of Frye ... I had been looking for the perfect pair of black ... forever, and I had always loved the Frye Paige Riding ... so after searching forever (and trying not to get another pair of Frye's since I already own 3 pairs), I realized that Frye's were my favorite for a very good reason and that the Paige ... would be the way to go. These ... AMAZING. I have very thin calves so I was slightly worried since some reviewers were commenting on how the ... were great for big calves, but since the leather is very structured and sturdy, it doesn't make the ... slouch at all. It is so hard to find black ... do not look like combat ... hooker ... but these fit the bill. Plus, I love the lack of hardware with leather detailing instead, so that they are not entirely plain but still do not clash with any metals.

LoveI love ... ordered my regular size. Your heel will slip a little at first, that just a true riding ... stiff at first, too. But after a couple wears ... break right in. I'm 5'5 and the stop just below the knee, and ... super comfy! I wore ... ALL day long 2 days in a row right off the bat, and no pain or discomfort.

LOVEI just wrote a not so great review about the Veronica Slouch Frye's, so I wanted to write a raving review about the Paige Tall Riding. I got these ... Piperlime last year in December. I wear them religiously in the fall and winter, and they have held up beautifully. The leather is still as soft and buttery as it was when I pulled them out of the box a year ago. ... fit comfortably over jeans, but don't stick out too much when you wear ... sweater dress or leggings. My only two complaints: 1.) ... have developed some creasing at the ankle (lazy ... syndrome). I store ... box ... came in on their side, so maybe ... would have done better if I stored ... upright with a ... tree. 2.) I ordered these in the tan color, and the pull on tabs and the tops and insides of the ... have absorbed some of the dye from wearing ... over denim. Nothing too noticeable, but it's definitely there. Other than that ... great ... would highly recommend ...

LOVE LOVE LOVE!I have been looking for a new pair of black riding ... quite some time now. It seems that every pair I tried on looked like fireman ... were way too clunky and definitely not feminine! I'm glad I held out for the right pair because ... beautiful! Great quality, and the perfect height for me. (I'm 5'7", so I don't like when ... only come up to mid calf on me that are supposed to be just below the knee.) Well worth the price!

The Perfect Riding ... These are the most perfect riding ... ever. The leather is beyond top quality. Looks great in the picture, andeven better in person. Very stylish, and VERY comfortable, I can fit my skinny jeans into them, and I have thin to athletic legs. I wear these non stop and they still look great. I am am always a 9 1/2, so I took a risk (since others reviewed as small) and bought the 9 1/2. Glad I did, they fit perfectly, even a little room for thicker socks in the really cold weather. I don't recommend wearing these out in wet weather, they are more of a fashion riding ... rather than an all weather riding ... These were worth every single penny and I hope they make them forever!!

Frye Paige Tall RidingLove my new Frye Paige Tall Riding ... They were hard to get on and off at first, but the more I wear them the easier it gets. These particular ... do not have the wax shine that the Frye Paige ... have on Frye's company site. I will have these ... forever. A great investment.

They''re worth itLike a lot of people who have bought these ... hesitant to shell out the extra money for them, but I've also been looking for the perfect brown flat ... multiple seasons now, with nothing that struck me, until now. I got them in Cognac, size 9, which is what I generally wear for most shoes. They fit well -- don't size down. You'll regret it. I thought I might consider putting insoles in them, but it feels too tight when I do that. I also didn't run into the issue of having trouble pulling them on or off, like many others seemed to. As for the look and feel -- the leather looks rich, substantial and 'not cheap'. You can tell these ... real deal and will last forever. The shaft height is perfect, ending right below my knee (I am 5'8"). I admit, they are a tiny bit stiffer than I'm used to with ... out of the box, but I imagine a lot of it has to do with the fact that they're riding ... thicker leather than average. I assume that will improve over time, as they've been breaking in gradually over the last couple weeks I've had them. The only reason I didn't give these 5 stars, vs. 4 is that my pinky toes get a little irritated after a day of wearing them. Not sure what that is about. Other than that, I love these and find them pretty stylish and comfortable. I don't regret the expense one bit.

Great Classic ... AWESOME ... Fit nice and snug, shaft of the ... not super tight against the calves (but that's how I like to wear my riding ... wear a 7 1/2 or an 8 in shoes, I ordered an 8 to allow for thick socks for winter and ... worked out perfectly. I have ... black and I wear ... skinny jeans tucked in, and dresses. This is my second pair of Frye shoes and I'm in LOOOOVE :)

Get the Melissa boots if you''re short and have narrow calves!I had my heart set on the Paige riding boots. However, I had to return them...I'm 5'2" and they overwhelmed by short legs. My calves are also narrow and the large shaft opening looked weird. I hated to do it, but I returned them. Enter the Melissa riding boots! They fit me so much better and look great on. I love the look of the Paige boots but the Melissa boots just work better given my size/frame.

worth the splurgeThis is my 3rd pair of Fryes (I have the Carson riding ... 8" Engineers). The workmanship is consistently good, the leather feels and smells great, and the fit is superb. I usually wear 7.5, sometimes 8. My Carson ... 7.5, and they have stretched out considerably, to the point where i need to wear thicker socks. I ordered the Melissa Button ... 7. They were tight around the toes for the first few days, but they have started to loosen up a bit. I know they're only going to get better. Love these ...

Perfect ... There are a lot of ... market with bells and whistles, but this is the perfect basic riding ... pair with EVERYTHING. I've only had them for a few weeks and each time I have worn them, someone comes up to me to ask who makes them. You really can't go wrong with a Frye ...

Best riding ... ever! The Melissa Button ... my favorite riding ... ever. Yes, they are pricey but these ... investment piece. Frye ... last a lifetime. I have owned a pair in black for two years now and just recently got the cognac. I am excited every fall when I can get these ... out of my closet. I live in Texas, so weather permitting I can't wear these year round. I would highly recommend these ... normally wear a 10 in Frye shoes but these run a half size small so I wear a 9.5. You won't regret purchasing these ... They are totally worth the money!

love them! They are so beautiful and perfect. The leather takes a few wears to break in to where it's comfortable, but they are so worth it. The height is perfect if you tend to have problems with the regular height ... Most riding ... generally come a little too high, hitting the bottom of my knee, but these are perfect.

Love them- worth the price! If you are reading this, it means you are seriously debating ordering these boots. I want to tell you, DO IT! You won't regret it. I ordered the Melissa button ... black hoping for a nice, timeless yet hip black ... winter. I wanted something that wasn't too matronly and buttoned up, that I could wear with skinny jeans, leggings, and short dresses. Maybe a bare leg if the weather was nice. :) I also ride horses and don't want to spend the money for riding boots so these will be great for that too- and there is nothing like a little horse poo to make your ... look even more lived in and loved! :) I have always loved the style of the Frye campus but it is a little too biker chic for my everyday need or wearing to work. So I ordered Melissa and I wasn't disappointed! These ... arrived and it was obvious they were a great quality product. Very thick, supple leather, heavy yet flexible and I just know they will wear wonderfully once they are broken in! And the smell! Oh, heavenly! I keep getting whiffs of it and I just smile. :) As for sizing, I am usually a 7 but as most reviewers suggested, I bought a 6.5 and immediately one went on easily. The other one was a little tighter and I had to use the plastic bag trick (I think one of my feet is larger than the other- it wasn't a flaw with the ... They were comfortable right off the bat and didn't rub or squeeze too much with a thin sock and jeans on. I should mention that I have an impossibly high instep and the first night I got them, I wore a thicker sock with my skinny jeans and I could feel the tightness in my instep, but today I wore tights and they were great all day. I am a petite 5'2', 115 with thin calves and the tops of the ... nicely snug so if you have any concerns about your calf width, try the extended calf. Usually high ... like these are baggy on me but these fit well at the top, although by the ankle there is ample room. I love these and can't wait to wear them for years to come!!!!!!!

Not Quite a Riding ... Great Frye quality as ever and perfectly true to size but the shaft height seemed low - more of a cowboy ... height than the riding ... look I wanted. Great ... if you are looking for something that's closer to mid calf (I'm 5'7")

Just lovely, but Fryes run huge. (Long review because I think such a high price warrants knowing details of what you''re buying!)I wish I could give these a 4.5 - the appearance is nearly perfect, but all Frye boots have fit/sizing quirks that sort of get on my nerves. If they were cheaper, this would be excusable, but for the price, those quirks warrant a 4. If you're reading the reviews, you probably want to know about those negative or unexpected aspects before spending over $300, so I'll mention those first (but that doesn't mean that the positive doesn't outweigh the negative or that I would change much about these boots). I'm still keeping them, and it was still worth it [...]. NOT SO-GOOD: 1. The soles seem relatively durable (some Frye boots have thinner soles than I like), which is nice, but lots of Fryes have pretty smooth bottoms, so be careful with them on slippery surfaces when they're new - the traction will be questionable until you scuff up the soles yourself a bit. 2. Like with all Frye boots I've tried on, it was tough to get my foot to fit through the ankle of the ... but the pull tabs help a ton. (Getting them off is even harder, but it's worth it. I think that aspect of the fit prevents you from interrupting this really smooth leather silhouette with zippers or gores while making for a good, stable fit once they are on.) 3. Along the same lines, I have pretty average calves - not tiny, but I rarely have trouble with any boots not fitting over them - and I never need a wide shaft ... but these come close to being too tight (just barely enough space to cram jeans in with no room left over), so if your calves are bigger, you may not like these. 4. Most important to know: the sizing. I wear an 8 in almost every flat or heel, an 8-8.5 in most boots (sometimes need extra sock room) and 8.5-9 in running shoes. The 8 in Fryes leaves at least an inch between my big toe and the end of the shoe (even with moderately thick socks). I have a 7.5 in these and it's still quite roomy in the toe box - I could go smaller if I had narrow feet and skinny calves, but if I went down more with my foot shape the midfoot would be super tight. I'm sticking with the 7.5 and there will be nice room for socks and toe wiggling... and maybe insoles because arch support in Fryes isn't great (but then again my extreme over pronation makes me picky). (They might add some of this extra toe room intentionally - I think I'm used to less since modern shoes, especially nice women's shoes, tend to love the narrow toe box, which is what we're all used to, but in the end it's better for your feet if your toes can spread naturally and aren't crammed up against anything.) Now for the really GOOD aspects: 1. Like all the Frye boots I've seen, these have beautiful leather. It looks like you could never wear it out. I have the Fawn color, and I love it. I didn't want a high polish appearance; I wanted a soft looking (but not super distressed) brown, medium dark, and that's exactly what I got. It's not a very warm brown - there's an underlying dark greyish hue - but I like that because the color is really neutral while still being attractive on its own. Perfect and will match about anything. 2. The simple silhouette is really nice (if you, like me, are not a huge fan of cowboyish or overly rugged-and chunky silhouettes). 3. Short girls like me, take note: I'm not quite-5'4" and not leggy (~30 inch inseam), and there are many beautiful knee high Frye ... styles that I can't wear at all because the shaft comes all the way to the middle of my knee. However these hit just where they should! Yay! (Also good for short girls who want knee high Fryes - the Shirley Riding ... [not the over knee Shirley, but the knee high one with two buckles] which has a top that is made so that it can be cuffed down to a reasonable height. (If you're tall/leggy, know that the Melissa boots will probably not come all the way up to right below your knee.) [...]

Wanted them to work...These ... were beautiful until I tried them on. As I read in other reviews, they were hard to get on and off. I am 5'7 and athletic...with 15 1/2 inch calves. These books fit around my calve ok but if you look closely you can see that the top of the shaft, in the back, curves back in toward your leg rather than just going strait up. That spot on the ... pushed into my calve and made my leg look funny. If you have really skinny legs they will probably work for you. Beautiful durable leather, nice construction and top quality typical of Frye...i just couldn't stand the fit. I returned them and bought the Paige Tall Riding ... couldn't be happier with those.
Frye Veronica Slouch
$328.00 $289.99 Rachel Zoe's pickriding boots women - reviews

Love ''emMy first pair of Frye boots and I just love them. Very comfortable. Spent a full day walking around NYC while wearing them. I tend to be between an 8 1/2 and 9 (one foot a little bigger than the other) so I decided to go 1/2 size down. I'm glad I did. The only thing I recommend is buying the leather protector spray at time of purchase. I didn't think of it and had to make a trip to find it. Highly recommend these boots.

Veronica Slouch BootsThese boots are everything I expected. I absolutely love Frye boots and these are no exception. Based on the other reviews I was concerned that they would run small, however, I took a chance and ordered my standard size 8.5 and they fit perfectly. They are so cute and comfortable. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them.

Boots for a petite galI am in love with these boots. I am a little under 5' and have been looking for a pair of tall boots forever! These are perfect for all the petite girls out there. Even though I have slightly muscular caves, these fit me perfectly over skinny jeans or tights. As the other reviewers mentioned it is a little difficult to get your feet into them but once they are on they are so comfortable... I could walk in them all day.

buy these bootsMy husband bought me these boots 6 years ago in the slate. They are probably my favorite pair of boots and I have many, many pairs of boots. They look great with everything!! I usually wear a 7.5 but ordered in an 8 (I tried them on locally in black) they were a little hard to get on the first time, even had to unbuckle at the ankle. They took no time to break in and talk about durable, the quality is excellent. I stand on my feet all day as a hairstylist and they are super comfy. I have worn these boots doing the hands on renovation of my salon, working all day, and even had a spray paint can leak silver paint all over them, thought they were ruined. I cleaned them off with paint thinner, which made them stiff and white and chalky, but a little saddle soap and they looked even better than new and softer. I constantly get compliments on them, the more distressed they get the better they look.

Very Nice!I previously ordered the Frye Paige Tall ... because of its simplicity and the riding ... look, but I liked them okay. For the money, I want to love the boot..so, after looking at the other Frye boots, I come upon Veronica. I loved the fit right away and threw on some skinnys and they looked great. The color, dark brown, is lovely and the leather is very nice. They fit perfect on my legs, which are athletic, with room to spare. These are my first pair of Fryes, but probably not my last.

MUST HAVE BOOTS!I own these boots in slate, and I wear them ALL the time! They go with everything and look so stylish and beautiful. There was a brief breaking in period with these, but now they fit like a dream and are sooo comfortable. I love FRYE, and these boots live up to the quality and style that you would expect from Frye. I get compliments galore on these boots! I don't think I could live without them.

After much trial and error...I have been wanting a pair of frye boots forever, and decided to finally invest. I have ordered at least 5 different styles in multiple sizes, and gone to every store that sells them around me. I have normal sized calves, but every single ... tight and there was no way I was able to tuck in a pair of boots. The Veronica sloch is the best I could find, so while I like the ... would not have been my first choice. Definitely well made and good quality. Pretty color. Look great with skirts and socks poking out the top.

Nice, but didn''t really fall in love with the colorI love the style of the boots, it was comfortable when I tried them on out of the box. I ordered a 6.5 because boots are usually too big in my usual 7 and I like wearing thinner socks rather than the thick ones. I say order up though if you plan on wearing thicker socks and your actual size will be perfect. I did return these though because I didn't fall in love with the color. It's vintage dark brown with the crackly look. Maybe over time it would have looked great. I wish they would have had the gaucho color or brushed off leather brown look.

yummmooooSo these boots were so beautiful when I saw them online, I just had to have them!!!! so I ordered them and then when they came in the mail they were scuffed and someone had deff worn them.....so I called and spoke with a very nice woman who fixed the problem really fast and was very helpfull. My new boots came in the mail and they were fab!!! I sized up. I wear a 8 so I got a 8 1/2. I was once told at a ... store that you should always have a little bit of lift in a ... all in things happen and I got my boots and am happy :)

gorgeous boots!I've been eyeing these boots for some time, and finally decided to take the splurge. Am I ever glad I did! I normally wear a 7 1/2 but based upon other reviews and having very high arches and being afraid I might not be able to get my feet into a 7 1/2, I chose to go w/ the 8s. They do slip a little on my heel if I'm not wearing thick enough socks, but other than that the fit is great. No issues whatsoever getting them on or off, and they were incredibly comfortable right out of the box! I have very sensitive feet, so this is saying something. I also tend to have larger calves and have had difficulty with other tall boots, but I'm able to wear these with ... socks and skinny jeans and have room to spare. The leather is gorgeously soft; I'm giving them 4 stars b/c I thought they were made in the US but instead are made in China.

Beautiful ... I have been eyeing these boots for a few years now. They are absolutely beautiful! I purchased these here and they were everything I'd imagined they'd be. Unfortuantely, I had to return them because I do have rather large calves and these ... fit quite snug without any skinny jeans on (just my bare legs). I've always had large calves and often have trouble finding boots that fit. I took a chance with these and i'm sad to say that they didn't work out for me. I will absolutely re order these if they become available in the large calf size!
