Over the knee riding boot
Stuart Weitzman 50/50
$595.00 Stretch calf for an easy fitFrye Paige Tall Riding
$378.00 Rachel Zoe's pickover the knee riding boot - reviews

Perfect ... Bought these for our college girl and she loves them! The top is just below her knee and the details are just enough. Has a detail at the top of the back of the ... especially love. And, the color is a nice, rich brown. Low heel~great for everyday on campus or out at night.

Fantastic Classic Black ... This is my first pair of Frye's and I am extremely impressed! They are a great classic pair of black ... know will last me years to come! The leather is beautiful and buttery. I ordered my normal size in these, and when I first tried them on, I had extreme difficulty getting them over my heal. I was LITERALLy shoving my foot in. However, once they were on and I have worn them a few times, they go on and fit perfectly. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a classic ... last for years to come!

Another Amazing Pair of Frye ... I had been looking for the perfect pair of black ... forever, and I had always loved the Frye Paige Riding ... so after searching forever (and trying not to get another pair of Frye's since I already own 3 pairs), I realized that Frye's were my favorite for a very good reason and that the Paige ... would be the way to go. These ... AMAZING. I have very thin calves so I was slightly worried since some reviewers were commenting on how the ... were great for big calves, but since the leather is very structured and sturdy, it doesn't make the ... slouch at all. It is so hard to find black ... do not look like combat ... hooker ... but these fit the bill. Plus, I love the lack of hardware with leather detailing instead, so that they are not entirely plain but still do not clash with any metals.

LOVEI just wrote a not so great review about the Veronica Slouch Frye's, so I wanted to write a raving review about the Paige Tall Riding. I got these ... Piperlime last year in December. I wear them religiously in the fall and winter, and they have held up beautifully. The leather is still as soft and buttery as it was when I pulled them out of the box a year ago. They fit comfortably over jeans, but don't stick out too much when you wear them with a sweater dress or leggings. My only two complaints: 1.) They have developed some creasing at the ankle (lazy ... syndrome). I store them in the box they came in on their side, so maybe they would have done better if I stored them upright with a ... tree. 2.) I ordered these in the tan color, and the pull on tabs and the tops and insides of the ... have absorbed some of the dye from wearing them over denim. Nothing too noticeable, but it's definitely there. Other than that they are great ... would highly recommend them.

Must have ... Comfortable and Stylish Love love love these ... color is perfect for fall, and the distressed look makes them look like I have owned them for years. They look amazing with skinny jeans or a vintage dress. Always receive compliments. Worth every penny- will get tons of use out of these for years to come. My fave pair of Frye ... date. They run true to size- I wear a 7.5 in dress shoes and sneakers, and the 7.5 fit perfectly. The first time I wore them, they were a little difficult to take off, but after a few wears and breaking them in, this is not a problem at all. The height is just right as well- I am 5'6'' and they are a couple inches below my knee. Super comfortable and durable. I walk everywhere and they do not hurt my feet- including the first time I wore them.

Frye ... nice but this style didn''t work for me This is my second pair of Frye's to purchase, trying to find the right ones. When shopping online, I really liked the color (dark brown) and the look and thought they would be the ones that I would keep. However, they didn't work for me. From my first pair of Frye's, I knew I had to go down a half size, as they run long. I'm 5'3" and these were a little too tall for me, they hit me right at the knee. Also, they were really hard to pull on, I had to use the two tabs on the top to pull them on and feared I was going to rip the tabs off. I have bigger calves so trying to get these on with tights would be fine but trying to get them on with jeans and socks would be a struggle so I returned. Frye definitely makes quality ... just need to find the right pair for me!

They''re worth itLike a lot of people who have bought these ... hesitant to shell out the extra money for them, but I've also been looking for the perfect brown flat ... multiple seasons now, with nothing that struck me, until now. I got them in Cognac, size 9, which is what I generally wear for most shoes. They fit well -- don't size down. You'll regret it. I thought I might consider putting insoles in them, but it feels too tight when I do that. I also didn't run into the issue of having trouble pulling them on or off, like many others seemed to. As for the look and feel -- the leather looks rich, substantial and 'not cheap'. You can tell these ... real deal and will last forever. The shaft height is perfect, ending right below my knee (I am 5'8"). I admit, they are a tiny bit stiffer than I'm used to with ... out of the box, but I imagine a lot of it has to do with the fact that they're riding ... thicker leather than average. I assume that will improve over time, as they've been breaking in gradually over the last couple weeks I've had them. The only reason I didn't give these 5 stars, vs. 4 is that my pinky toes get a little irritated after a day of wearing them. Not sure what that is about. Other than that, I love these and find them pretty stylish and comfortable. I don't regret the expense one bit.

Great ... bad color I purchased this ... dark dark brown color, hoping for a rich tone that would bend and break in with wear. However after receiving them, I've found it's more of a black than a brown. The color I did want was on backorder until January so I decided to try this color out, but they're going back. However, the fit was great and the length of the shaft was perfect. I'm 5'8, 125 lbs and the ... came up to just below my knee. I'm natually a size 10 in shoes but always order down because I have thin calves and I don't like to be floating in my ... 9.5 was perfect in these.

ummm. . . not sureI loved how they came just below my knees. . . and lovely leather. But they didn't grab me completely. I was able to wear them over the skinny jeans, but they felt very tight. And i don't have huge calves. Anyway, i couldn't spend over 350 dollars and be not hundred percent satisfied. So returned them.

Not super impressedOk, so I splurged and bought the paige tall riding ... cognac. They kept pushing back the delivery so I was supposed to get it in December but ended up getting today. The leather smells wonderful and is very thick. Runs true to size to slightly big. I like the length as I am 5'9". But three things I don't like: The profile shape of the base of the ... not very flattering; I mean, they start the shaft before or at my arch and about 1 and a half inches before my ankle, so that it makes my lower leg look wide from the side at the ankle, sort of like rain ... 2) the heel is so short that I thought I would like it, being tall and all, but it is not very flattering and 3) the extra layer of leather makes the frontal view of the ... very wide, which is also not flattering--at least for me. I normally have long slender legs but these ... actually make me look shorter and chunkier, by stopping the visual line that normally runs along my legs (not good for me since this is really my main asset! Lastly, they are just not sexy or cute. So if you are looking for sexy or cute, keep looking! If you want everyday casual ... these may work. If these were way cheaper I would keep them, but for the price I want to like them WAY more than I do! Bummer I have to send them back after waiting so long! Maybe sometime I'll try the Melissa Button ...

Not worth the moneyI have read other reviews, besides the ones available from piperlime and there seems to be a problem with the sole wearing out on them. I thought maybe those reviews were just a fluke...I mean the shoes are over [$]! Well, my stepfather loves cowboy ... actually takes all of his shoes to a specific cobbler. The first thing he said when I took the shoes out of the box was,"You're going to need to get something to put on the soles of those because they will wear out if you don't." I went down a half size and they are still too big on me and I have way too much room even with thick socks. I wear a 6, went down to 5 1/2 and they don't come any smaller so I am out of luck there. My last problem was the height of these shoes. I'm short and petite (5'1" and 105 lbs) these go too high on my legs and are a little too wide around the calves. I had to return them. They are nice, just definitely not worth the money.
Frye Melissa Button
$309.99-$348.00 Rachel Zoe's pickover the knee riding boot - reviews

So, so happy!I read many of the reviews before ordering these ... wasn't really sure what to expect because all of the reviews are very different... but what I had ultimately imagined in my head was what I received. First, I want to start of by saying that I'm a medium, athletic build. I was in cheerleading and gymnastics for over 15 years, so my calf muscles measure about 16". I was concerned that the extended calf wouldn't fit, but I was really relived when I slipped the Frye Melissa Button right on. I also think that the cut of this ... really flattering on larger calves. I am also a size 10, which I ordered. I believe that these fit very true to size. I love the leather - I got these in cognac. The color was a bit deeper red/brown than I anticipated, but I still love them. The first day I wore these they really beat up my feet (I had blisters on the inside of my heel, which I never get blisters there, along with right under my ankle bone); however, my feet got used to the ... They were definitely worth the cost to me... I want to order another pair (once I save up some more money!).

Quality ... Sure Great ... Really well made. I never hesitate splurging on Frye prices b/c I know they will last me forever. Was hesitant b/c reviewer wrote that they were "shiny". They are not - they are a new, smooth leather, not distressed. Really pretty. I cannot find ... go over my calves EVER and I bought the extended calves and they work. Can't tell you how grateful I am! Also, thank you to piperlime for rectifying the situation I had after I was sent the wrong ... Much appreciated!

Beautiful and elegantThese look as expensive as they are - which is a relief! Great fit, true to size, and the extended calf makes all the difference. The leather is excellent quality and I don't think these will slouch - they are not meant to. The soles are quite slick and made of leather, so I took them to the cobbler for a scuff pad and an extra rubber heel piece before I wear them - so that they will last longer. I have a pair of italian ... have treated this way and resoled 4 or 5 times over 6 or 7 years - treat them right and they never wear out. A keeper!

worth the splurgeThis is my 3rd pair of Fryes (I have the Carson riding ... 8" Engineers). The workmanship is consistently good, the leather feels and smells great, and the fit is superb. I usually wear 7.5, sometimes 8. My Carson ... 7.5, and they have stretched out considerably, to the point where i need to wear thicker socks. I ordered the Melissa Button ... 7. They were tight around the toes for the first few days, but they have started to loosen up a bit. I know they're only going to get better. Love these ...

LOVE!!!I have been wanting these ... over a year now and I finally took the plunge! I read every single review available on Piperlime and other websites before I purchased these ... because they do cost a lot of money. However, I believe that quality shoes are worth the investment and I hope this pair of Frye's is no exception to the rule. I am 5"8 and wear a size 10 in all shoes so naturally I ordered a size 10-they fit like a glove. My legs are average and they fit perfectly around my calves and there is still room to wear with slim to skinny pants. The arch is nice but might feel like there's a bump under your foot if you don't have a high arch. They are slick on the bottom, but just need to be scuffed up on some gravel. I ordered them in cognac and the color is beautiful and they smell just like the leather goods sold from the vendors in Italy. I love them and recommend to anyone who wants a quality ...

Love these ... I purchased the Melissa button in distressed chocolate. They look like they are very worn in. I wasn't 100% sure that I would like that, but I didn't want smooth, shiny ... time. I love them. The color is so dark that they go nicely with black and brown and also gray and any other color. I am 5'1" and the shaft height is perfect for me. About 1 1/2 inches below my knee. They were easy for me to put on and take off - I didn't have the same issues some have had, but I think the distressed chocolate may already be softened from the process. I bought non skid adhesive grips for the bottom and never once had an issue with sliding or slipping even though the bottoms are slick. My daughter and I went to look at other colors and the more smooth styles kind of look like rain ... first, but the distressed don't. I'm sure the vintage style would not either. I was very nervous to spend so much on one pair of ... - I'm frugal. But these ... such a classic style and so well made, I'm sure I will wear them for the rest of my life. I love how they look. I wasn't sure I was a ... dress type of girl, but I am with these ... kept looking at other ... $150-$200 range and nothing grabbed me like these did.I don't regret spending the money, and bought these during a 20% off sale, which did help a little. Go for it!

Totallly worth every pennyI bought the chocolate disstressed ones a few months ago and they are my first pair of fryes. At first it was really hard to get over the price tage but these ... worth every penny. At first they are hard to get on, but they stretch and will soon be no problem at all. They run true to size so don't order down. I wear anywhere from a 7-8 depending on the shoe and the 8 is perfect. Everytime I wear them I get compliments and they are really comfortable! They are a great addition to my fall/winter wardrobe because they are great when it is raining all the time. I would definatly recomend.

LooooooveI have had these ... few weeks now and am in love with them. Though I have many pairs of Frye's I find myself wanting to wear this pair. They are much easier to get on/off than my other pairs, which in the past I have found as a problem. The ... look great with anything and everything! They are completely worth the money and will last you forever! Also, I do not have very slim thighs and I am able to get these over my jeans which I thought may be an issue. Highly recommend!!

Love them- worth the price! If you are reading this, it means you are seriously debating ordering these ... want to tell you, DO IT! You won't regret it. I ordered the Melissa button ... black hoping for a nice, timeless yet hip black ... winter. I wanted something that wasn't too matronly and buttoned up, that I could wear with skinny jeans, leggings, and short dresses. Maybe a bare leg if the weather was nice. :) I also ride horses and don't want to spend the money for riding ... so these will be great for that too- and there is nothing like a little horse poo to make your ... look even more lived in and loved! :) I have always loved the style of the Frye campus but it is a little too biker chic for my everyday need or wearing to work. So I ordered Melissa and I wasn't disappointed! These ... arrived and it was obvious they were a great quality product. Very thick, supple leather, heavy yet flexible and I just know they will wear wonderfully once they are broken in! And the smell! Oh, heavenly! I keep getting whiffs of it and I just smile. :) As for sizing, I am usually a 7 but as most reviewers suggested, I bought a 6.5 and immediately one went on easily. The other one was a little tighter and I had to use the plastic bag trick (I think one of my feet is larger than the other- it wasn't a flaw with the ... They were comfortable right off the bat and didn't rub or squeeze too much with a thin sock and jeans on. I should mention that I have an impossibly high instep and the first night I got them, I wore a thicker sock with my skinny jeans and I could feel the tightness in my instep, but today I wore tights and they were great all day. I am a petite 5'2', 115 with thin calves and the tops of the ... nicely snug so if you have any concerns about your calf width, try the extended calf. Usually high ... like these are baggy on me but these fit well at the top, although by the ankle there is ample room. I love these and can't wait to wear them for years to come!!!!!!!

Just lovely, but Fryes run huge. (Long review because I think such a high price warrants knowing details of what you''re buying!)I wish I could give these a 4.5 - the appearance is nearly perfect, but all Frye ... have fit/sizing quirks that sort of get on my nerves. If they were cheaper, this would be excusable, but for the price, those quirks warrant a 4. If you're reading the reviews, you probably want to know about those negative or unexpected aspects before spending over $300, so I'll mention those first (but that doesn't mean that the positive doesn't outweigh the negative or that I would change much about these ... I'm still keeping them, and it was still worth it [...]. NOT SO-GOOD: 1. The soles seem relatively durable (some Frye ... have thinner soles than I like), which is nice, but lots of Fryes have pretty smooth bottoms, so be careful with them on slippery surfaces when they're new - the traction will be questionable until you scuff up the soles yourself a bit. 2. Like with all Frye ... I've tried on, it was tough to get my foot to fit through the ankle of the ... but the pull tabs help a ton. (Getting them off is even harder, but it's worth it. I think that aspect of the fit prevents you from interrupting this really smooth leather silhouette with zippers or gores while making for a good, stable fit once they are on.) 3. Along the same lines, I have pretty average calves - not tiny, but I rarely have trouble with any ... not fitting over them - and I never need a wide shaft ... but these come close to being too tight (just barely enough space to cram jeans in with no room left over), so if your calves are bigger, you may not like these. 4. Most important to know: the sizing. I wear an 8 in almost every flat or heel, an 8-8.5 in most ... (sometimes need extra sock room) and 8.5-9 in running shoes. The 8 in Fryes leaves at least an inch between my big toe and the end of the shoe (even with moderately thick socks). I have a 7.5 in these and it's still quite roomy in the toe box - I could go smaller if I had narrow feet and skinny calves, but if I went down more with my foot shape the midfoot would be super tight. I'm sticking with the 7.5 and there will be nice room for socks and toe wiggling... and maybe insoles because arch support in Fryes isn't great (but then again my extreme over pronation makes me picky). (They might add some of this extra toe room intentionally - I think I'm used to less since modern shoes, especially nice women's shoes, tend to love the narrow toe box, which is what we're all used to, but in the end it's better for your feet if your toes can spread naturally and aren't crammed up against anything.) Now for the really GOOD aspects: 1. Like all the Frye ... I've seen, these have beautiful leather. It looks like you could never wear it out. I have the Fawn color, and I love it. I didn't want a high polish appearance; I wanted a soft looking (but not super distressed) brown, medium dark, and that's exactly what I got. It's not a very warm brown - there's an underlying dark greyish hue - but I like that because the color is really neutral while still being attractive on its own. Perfect and will match about anything. 2. The simple silhouette is really nice (if you, like me, are not a huge fan of cowboyish or overly rugged-and chunky silhouettes). 3. Short girls like me, take note: I'm not quite-5'4" and not leggy (~30 inch inseam), and there are many beautiful knee high Frye ... styles that I can't wear at all because the shaft comes all the way to the middle of my knee. However these hit just where they should! Yay! (Also good for short girls who want knee high Fryes - the Shirley Riding ... [not the over knee Shirley, but the knee high one with two buckles] which has a top that is made so that it can be cuffed down to a reasonable height. (If you're tall/leggy, know that the Melissa ... probably not come all the way up to right below your knee.) [...]

For a wide calf ... wasn''t very wide... I wanted to love these ... so much, but unfortunately, the wide calf just wasn't quite wide enough. If they had a zipper, I probably could have managed it, but as pull on ... couldn't pull them on over anything easily, including tights. Sadly, they are going back.

Love, love, loveThese ... increadible. I've gotten so many complements and people stopping in their tracks to ask where I got them. They are very tall, so probably not the best choice for shorter girls. I'm 5'7" w/ long legs and I've had trouble finding knee high ... actually go up to my knees. They are beautiful, sexy (but not too obvious, and can easily be dressed up or down. I found they fit a little bigger than other frye's I own, so I would suggest going down half a size. Other than that they are perfect.

Worth the Splurge!I have been eyeing these ... 2 years and finally took the leap. Love love love! I am 5'6'' and they come below the knee. The quality is the best- typical Frye. The leather is like butter. The fitter is flattering as well- the narrow rounded toe doesn't make my feet look bulky. Wish I had bought them sooner since I know they will last a long time! They run true to size.

Perfect riding ... Wish I Could Give 100 Stars!! These ... so perfect that I now own 2 pair. The height is just right (I'm 5'7") and the ... hits just at the bottom of my knee. The leather? Soft, exceptional - really just lovely. I have had total strangers stop me on the street to comment about the ... couldn't be more pleased.

The perfect flat ... I'm addicted to these ... - I can't help it. I wanted a beautiful, versatile flat ... actually hit my knee and I've found them. I love these ... so much that I bought 2 pair - 1 in dark brown + 1 in sand. Both are to die for. The fit is perfect + yes the bottom is slippery for like 5 seconds but once you wear them outside, they're fine. I've worn them with jeans, skirts, leggings and without fail, total strangers compliment me on these exceptional ...

Dorado riding ... Great looking ... well made(one of the few Frye ... made in Spain instead of Brazil or other countries). This ... me a bit too tall in the shaft. I am 5'4" and the ... came up a little over the knee which I could have lived with had the calf not been so wide(I have thin calves).I was sorry to have to return them as they were exactly what I had been looking for.

Frye Dorado Riding ... I searched for gray ... two years, and tried many on during this time. I always found myself coming back to look at the Dorado Riding ... could never justify purchasing them because of the price; I finally decided to try them. I was lucky and have several coupons and discounts that I could use that made the price more tolerable to the checkbook. I had to send the first pair back because they had a huge scuff on one. The first pair were a little snug in the foot bed, I was so disappointed because the ... gorgeous in person. Piperlime was great, I returned the first pair and received the second pair (scuff free!) When I tried them on, the foot bed felt better. I finally had the chance to wear these ... they are well worth the price. They are so comfortable, look classy and I have received several compliments on them already. This is my first Frye purchase, but they definitely live up to what I have heard about them!

Highly RecommendedI purchased the brown Frye Dorando Riding ... over the holidays and they are very nice. I went with a half size up, which I would not recommend, because there is plenty of room in these ... color is great against the leather and you can wear them with a dress or a pair of jeans. I would highly recommend purchasing the Dorando!

Shaft height incorrectThese ... absolutely amazing. I am 5'1 and the shaft is reficulously tall...over the knee. The description says 15" shaft, I measured them to the highest point (excluding heel) and they measure in at 17" shaft height. Sadly, I either have to have them tailored ;'( or find another pair which I can't seem to find. Good luck!

Gorgeous ... just SOO uncomfortable I loved these ... stalking these ... weeks, but being so expensive I never had the nerve to buy them. I finally decided, after weeks of looking at them online, that "I'm worth it" and bought them. I ended up ordering the black ones in a 9.5 and the dark brown ones in a 9. I am a true size 9, but after reading all the reviews I wasn't sure which would fit better. The black ones arrived first. The 9.5 was too long but because of that it fit the width of my foot. But with that being said they were still way too long and my heel slipped a lot because they were just too big. Also the black looked too much like a motorcycle ... going more for an equestrian look. I returned them and waited for the other pair. When the brown ones arrived I was so excited. The look was PERFECT. The style of this ... beautiful and just what I was looking for in a riding ... Unfortunately, the fit is wear it lacks. It is SO NARROW that it squeezed my foot so much it was throbbing. I thought I could stretch them out, but after DAYS of walking around the house it wasn't much better. They are just too expensive to hope that they stretch out, I had to return them. Even though I loved them and wanted them to work in the worst way, they had to go back. They were just too uncomfortable. I'll miss you Dorado ...

Great mid calf ... I purchased these ... because I wanted something between 'high ... cowgirl ... they are perfect. I agree with another review that the boot fits loosely in the ankle/leg, but I don't think this is unusual for shorter/mid calf boot styles. I have thin ankles and calves, and I like the roominess for comfort and a more casual style. I purchased the dark brown, which has a slightly worn in feel out of the box - nice! Wear these with skinny jeans, boot cut jeans, and casual dresses and skirts. They are very versatile. This is my third pair of Fryes, and I find all Fryes wear beautifully, fit consistently, shape to your foot over time (if they feel a little tight at any one spot upon initially trying on, wear them for 30 min in your house on smooth surfaces, and they will loosen up quickly), and score high points for timeless style. I am a size 8.5-9 med width, and Frye ... 9 are perfect. The Heath boot fits more like a cowgirl ... slight amount of slip in the heel. Bottom line, if you want a versatile ... less aggressive than an engineer, harness, or cowgirl style and lower than a typical full calf style, this is your ... They are great, and worth the price!

I labored over what Frye ... buy...this one, Veronica Slouch, Campus...the list goes on. I decided on these because of the square toe, I thought it seemed a little western without being too cowboy. I love them and have received many compliments. They are very comfortable (I was replacing Rockports that I've had for 5 years) and the leather is incredible.

These are great ... Wonderful quality. I can imagine these ... being part of your wardrobe for a long time. They just weren't what I was looking for. I didn't like the shorter height - not making it to the knee and found them too slouchy for my liking. My calves are about 14 inches and i ordered a 9 - my usual ... size. They were just right for ... little roomy and pretty comfortable. The only thing that bothered me was the seaming on the inside around my ankle. It was a little rough. I have very narrow heals so the up and down movement was bothersome. This could probably be fixed with an insole. My zipper went up and down smoothly and was good looking.

Beautiful ... These ... pretty dang cool. I wore them all day over my skinny jeans. There's padding at the front footbed that keeps them pretty comfortable. Frye ... run a half size large for me. Overall, very beautiful, classic ... wear for a long time.

Gorgeous but painful but GORGEOUS!I've had these a while now, and I'm still trying to get me feet in these comfortably! Oh, but they are sooooo gorgeous! The first time couple times I wore them it was a huge struggle to get my foot in...it seemed the part right over the top of my foot was too tight to slide myself in. Well, that and trying to get my heel into the heel area! I stomped, I yanked, jumped up and down, and even had to get my husband to help! He started laughing, but once I finally got both feet in, they were so beautiful! At first I could feel my toes goe numb! After a couple of wearings, I could feel the leather loosen up. I'm a huge Frye fan, and I noticed my other ... them usually go through this break in period (although this one was most painful). I get compliments on them all the time, and I absolutely love them! It's so well made, they will last forever! I'm going to start going up half a size because I will never be able to turn my back on Fryes. I compare them to my other ... all of my Fryes are hands down a way better quality than many others. I'm even hemming and hawing over another style!

Classic! These ... classic- great height (not quite over the knee on me- I've got really long calves) but still tall enough to look chic. They're just as pictured in terms of color- but look a little more weathered. I can't tell if that's the shipping wax or how they'll always look. I expect they'll even out, tone wise, as I wear them in. Overall, this is a great pair of ... go great with a number of outfits and colors- I can't wait for fall so I can wear them out!

Best ... Ever My friend has these in the dark brown, so I got them in the gray since I had to have them. They are the perfect height - just to the knee, not over the knee. I'm 5'7, but my friend is about 5'5 and she loves the height. The cut in the back I think makes these great for any height. I did get them on sale, so I got a steal, but I'd pay full price. Great ... I've been wearing them none stop this winter.

Gorgeous!I am thrilled with these ... color is amazing...sort of a greyish taupe and goes with everything. The leather is buttery soft and slouches just a bit. I am 5'7" and wear somewhere between a 10-1/2 and 11 shoe so I purchased the 11. The first couple of times pulling these on were tough, but once on, the fit was great. The shaft is not too loose, but works great with skinny jeans, tights, and leggings. Uncuffed, the top of these come to just under my knee. The heel hight is great. Overall I am thrilled with my purchase.

Beautiful, high quality ... These ... made my outfit look better. No joke. I was wearing black leggings, a flowy shirt, and a blazer, and the outfit was cute but off. When I tried these on, the effect was immediate. WOW. Everything just seemed to come together, just because of these ... Maybe it's the leather, which is buttery, flexible, and gorgeously colored. Or the length of the ... itself. I am 5'4" with shorter legs, and the top reaches right up above my knees. The ... look cute folded down for a more casual look, but folded up, they really make the legs look longer and slimmer. The color is also beautiful. The slate is a muted grey with darker spots of brown. The result is that it goes with virtually any outfit that has earthy tones. Like the previous reviewer, my right ... slips in fine, but the left ... took some work to get on. Not sure why. I've been wearing them for about a few weeks now, and the left ... easier to put on, though. Overall, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I was skeptical about the quality level of Frye, but now I am a convert! I will most definitely treat myself to another pair when I save up enough. :)

Love, love, love!Got these beauties from Piperlime just this afternoon and am in love! I ordered the "Slate" color, which is definitely darker than this website shows--it's more of a nicely distressed mushroom (brownish grey) color and very, very chic! The color will go with everything! I normally wear an 8, but because I have wider feet, ordered an 8.5 in these and they fit perfectly and are very comfortable. I had no trouble getting them on/off. I am 5'7" and these ... uncuffed, hit me right below my knee (definitely not OVER the knee, but that's okay). These go great over top of skinny jeans and I can't wait to take them to Italy on my honeymoon--they'll keep me looking cute, while still being comfy enough for lots of walking! Take advantage of the awesome sale, if you can--Frye's are worth the price for the quality! :-)

Beautiful ... These ... wonderful. They hit right at the knee cap, which I like because it follows the current over the-knee trend, but is not too dramatic. They are great with skirts. These ... difficult to put on and take off at first, but loosen up with a bit of wear. If you have trouble, try putting your foot in a plastic bag, then slipping your foot in the ... pulling the bag out. Your foot should glide right in.

Love, love, loveI have drooled over these ... three years now and finally bit the bullet and got them. I do love them, however, they are very hard to get on. I am hoping they will stretch out a little bit with wear but I look ridiculous getting them on. Once they are on, they are fine but getting them on is a chore. It works best to put a plastic bag over my foot to slide it in and then pull it off once the ... am keeping them because I love them but it's gamble. The color is gorgeous, not quite grey but almost a mixture of brown and olive....I'm sure these will be a great asset to my ... collection and I know they will last forever! I'm happy!

I wasn't sure about these at first, but these ... won me over. The break in part was a little tough. I got some blisters the first three times I wore them. Getting them on is still a little hard. Once on, though, they're great. The color is a very warm grey, pretty close to a brown/taupe, really. I used Frye waterproofing balm on them, which darkened the color and evened it out a little, too. The leather seems thick and sturdy - upscale yet casual. I wear them with a few different skirts, but more often with jeans tucked in. I never, ever wear them with the cuff folded - don't like that at all. It messes with the line of the ... looks a little pirate esque to me. I was a little disappointed to see that my pair of ... made in Mexico and not the US. Overall, though, I'm happy I got them.

Strong leather smellI'm a big fan of Fyre ... these are very comfortable. My only complaint is they smell awful, very strong leather smell which hasn't really dissipated over the week I've been "airing" them out. I'm hoping by the time fall comes around they won't smell! Otherwise, ... great!
