perfect winter boot!
I got these for my hubbie 'cause last winter, his dress shoes got majorly worn down from all of the snow and salt in chicago. he really needed a boot that he could just keep on all day at the hospital under his scrubs or suit pants. So, he needed a boot that was more streamlined. Plus, he's pretty thin and likes lightweight and comfie clothing/accessories/shoes, so he didn't like the original sorels nor any other waterproof winter boot out there. They were all too bulky and heavy for his frame and taste. These boots aren't the thinnest boots out there, but they are thin for the warmth and waterproof ness. We also really love the dark brown color of the boot. Really classic looking. The boot isn't very flexible, but I wouldn't expect a waterproofed canvas boot to be flexible. But if you're looking for a streamlined boot that looks good and is warm/dry for the winter, I would go for these.

great boots
I purchased 3 pair of boots for my husband to try (Northface Chilkat II and another pair of Sorel). These were the winners! They have a thick felt type lining and are comfortable for his wider feet. He liked the flexibility of the fabric around the ankle. He did complain that the heel slips a little as he walks, and we tried tightening the laces but that didn't help. The length was a perfect fit so he couldn't size down. They look really good with dark jeans or with snow gear of course!

I own 3 pairs of Sorel boots!!!....I purchased these for my brother an he loves the Caribou Boot!!!!!!!

dry and warm
The Sorel boots have a great reputation and live up to it. Like the title says you stay warm and dry in the worst of cold and slushy snow.

Wide, large boot...but awesome boot!
I don't want to mess up the reviews because the boot didn't work for me, so I gave it 4 stars. If it had fit, probably deserves 5. This is a beautiful boot, but I had to send mine back because my foot was swimming in it. Wasn't even that I could just live with it, it was ridiculous how large the boot fits. I actually called Sorel to get their advice and the guy admitted that they should have a disclaimer on the Caribous that they are for people with very wide feet. I have a regular width, not narrow, not wide and normally wear a 10. Ordered a 10 and it was monstrous!! I hated having to box them up... but if you need a wider boot, order these, just a size below (example for me, 9 instead of 10) and you'll probably love these. The 1964 PAC T is the same boot, but less wide and a slightly different tread on the bottom. Oh, and this boot (both boots) are EXTREMELY warm. You don't need any thick socks with these bad boys.

If you wanna get a winter boot, get a sorel winter boot. It's warm, it's a beautiful, plus, i get ladies talking about my shoes everytime i'm in the trains...i've gotten some numbers too, courtesy of my boots.....I also happen to work in a clothing store and I can boast of being the only person that wears this one...makes me stand out, makes me confident with my customers, and most of all.....I feel rested assured of keeping this feet warm all day long....love it, love it, love it

Nice boots
I got these just before we got a foot of wet snow. Kept my feet warm and dry. They are a little big and heavy, but that's OK... they're snow boots. I've heard about issues with the quality since Sorel moved their manufacturing from Canada to Vietnam, but they seem well made to me. Hopefully I'll still feel the same in a year or two. Nice boots!

My husband decided to go with another Sorel boot. These came up foor far on his leg and after wearing around the house he decided that they rubbed his leg too much.

Make sure you tuck in your pants!
These boots are extremely warm, as advertised. They're also extremely heavy, and should not be worn on longer walks. Worst of all, the removable liner is made of a HORRIBLE synthetic material. The first time I wore them (almost all day) I developed a terrible rash on my calves because of the harsh insert. Sorel needs to redesign this material for me to be able to recommend this boot.
