Bristol Good shoes. Took a day to break in, but starting to feel just right. Nicely styled, old fashioned boots. I just need them to have five years of wear on them, and then they'll be perfect.
Nice look, but thin sole I bought this pair last fall to replace a pair of black leather Banana Republic chukka boots that had worn out. I liked the look of the Madden Bristole, as well as the price. They had a nice vintage shape and the leather, although thin as another reviewer mentioned, had an attractive sheen. The one major problem with this shoe was the thin sole. You could really feel hard surfaces underneath the front portion of your foot and it would get uncomfortable quickly when walking around the city. Even after inserting a padded insole, which made the ... tighter than I would like, I got sore feet after a short while. I made the mistake of bringing these on vacation to New York City this past weekend. After a day and a half of suffering I walked into the [@] flagship store and replaced these with a pair of Frye Oliver Chukka boots. Save yourself the trouble/cost and just buy a better shoe from the start.
