Great ... I have the non maternity version and now these. Great ... dress up or down. I am 5'7 and I need to take 5 inches off the ... so they are long! I can;t imagine wearing them until the fall, the panel is like a swim suit material.
Illogical Design I bought these ... two sizes, just to be sure I got it right. I hadn't tried on maternity ... big panel before but the design is so illogical, i was shocked that it's a "bestseller." They are super cute and remind me of the good old days when I was not pregnant and wore designer ... but then you get to the panel. I seriously put it on thinking did a MAN design this? Or maybe a woman who has never been pregnant. There is elastic at the very top of the panel. If you've ever been pregnant, you know how stupid that sounds. If they did a redesign, and took out the elastic, I would for sure buy them and keep them. By the way, I am a very fit, small boned and lean pregnant woman.
Liked but ... Loved the style of maternity denim with the elastic panels with an actual button and fly closure - so much more like an actual pair of ... instead of pull up pants. Unfortunately they were very big for a size 27. Truth be told I've never worn J Brand while not pregnant so I wasn't sure on my size. I am typically a 26 or 27 depending on how much brands vanity size so I decided to go closer to my true size since if anything I'm bigger than my normal. At 21 weeks pregnant these 27s were large everywhere which was a let down - but that could be because J Brand is a big vanity sizer in general. I wasn't totally sold on the wash but the denim was great quality - in the right size they may have been keepers but I'm trying the leggings instead.
Returned I got these ... hopes of having them when I need to start wearing maternity ... (I'm just into the start of my 2nd trimester, still in my regular ... not impressed with these. The fit wasn't flattering and the fabric seemed a bit cheap, it was lighter than denim. I also thought they would not stay up with a belly pushing them down as I do start to show. I returned these and will probably not get more from this brand because of the quality of the fabric and fit.
Huge! I wear between a 24-26 for J Brands (depending on the cut) when I'm not pregnant, so I figured the same size would work in the maternity version - but these are huge! Was swimming in them.
