Another Amazing Pair of Frye ...
I had been looking for the perfect pair of black ... forever, and I had always loved the Frye Paige Riding ... so after searching forever (and trying not to get another pair of Frye's since I already own 3 pairs), I realized that Frye's were my favorite for a very good reason and that the Paige ... would be the way to go. These ... AMAZING. I have very thin calves so I was slightly worried since some reviewers were commenting on how the ... were great for big calves, but since the ... very structured and sturdy, it doesn't make the ... slouch at all. It is so hard to find black ... do not look like combat ... hooker ... but these fit the bill. Plus, I love the lack of hardware with ... detailing instead, so that they are not entirely plain but still do not clash with any metals.

Love
I love ... ordered my regular size. Your heel will slip a little at first, that just a true riding ... stiff at first, too. ... after a couple wears ... break right in. I'm 5'5 and the stop just below the knee, and ... super comfy! I wore ... ALL day long 2 days in a row right off the bat, and no pain or discomfort.

LOVE
I just wrote a not so great review about the Veronica Slouch Frye's, so I wanted to write a raving review about the Paige Tall Riding. I got these ... Piperlime last year in December. I wear them religiously in the fall and winter, and ... have held up beautifully. The ... still as soft and buttery as it was when I pulled them out of the box a year ago. ... fit comfortably over jeans, but don't stick out too much when you wear them with a sweater dress or leggings. My only two complaints: 1.) ... have developed some creasing at the ankle (lazy ... syndrome). I store them in the box ... came in on their side, so maybe ... would have done better if I stored them upright with a ... tree. 2.) I ordered these in the tan color, and the pull on tabs and the tops and insides of the ... have absorbed some of the dye from wearing them over denim. Nothing too noticeable, but it's definitely there. Other than that ... great ... would highly recommend ...

Frye times two!
Confession: This is my second pair of "Frye Paige Tall Riding" ... had ... black for last season and now just bought the tan color). What can I say....I love ... course! Why else would you spend that much on a pair of ... (not once, ... twice!) Order these...you won't be sorry, ... go perfectly with leggings, skinny jeans, etc! Some caution though, ... don't ... best traction so be a little careful if you wear ... it's icy or on slick office floors. Also, if you ... super skinny calves, ... might not work for you! I ... athletic ... not huge) calves and ... fine for me, just a word of warning though!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!
I ... been looking for a new pair of black riding ... quite some time now. It seems that every pair I tried on looked like fireman ... were way too clunky and definitely not feminine! I'm glad I held out for the right pair because ... beautiful! Great quality, and the perfect height for me. (I'm 5'7", so I don't like when ... only come up to mid calf on me that are supposed to be just below the knee.) Well worth the price!

Love love love ... My only issues are I slip in ... sometimes as there are no grips on the bottom ... can you expect from riding ... Also, before I broke ... almost impossible to get ... off myself ... breaking ... remedied that! Beautiful, well made ...

The Perfect Riding ...
These are the most perfect riding ... ever. The ... beyond top quality. Looks great in the picture, andeven better in person. Very stylish, and VERY comfortable, I can fit my skinny jeans into them, and I have thin to athletic legs. I wear these non stop and they still look great. I am am always a 9 1/2, so I took a risk (since others reviewed as small) and bought the 9 1/2. Glad I did, they fit perfectly, even a little room for thicker socks in the really cold weather. I don't recommend wearing these out in wet weather, they are more of a fashion riding ... rather than an all weather riding ... These were worth every single penny and I hope ... make them forever!!

They''re worth it
Like a lot of people who have bought these ... hesitant to shell out the extra money for them, but I've also been looking for the perfect brown flat ... multiple seasons now, with nothing that struck me, until now. I got them in Cognac, size 9, which is what I generally wear for most shoes. They fit well -- don't size down. You'll regret it. I thought I might consider putting insoles in them, but it feels too tight when I do that. I also didn't run into the issue of having trouble pulling them on or off, like many others seemed to. As for the look and feel -- the ... looks rich, substantial and 'not cheap'. You can tell these ... real deal and will last forever. The shaft height is perfect, ending right below my knee (I am 5'8"). I admit, they are a tiny bit stiffer than I'm used to with ... out of the box, but I imagine a lot of it has to do with the fact that they're riding ... thicker ... than average. I assume that will improve over time, as they've been breaking in gradually over the last couple weeks I've had them. The only reason I didn't give these 5 stars, vs. 4 is that my pinky toes get a little irritated after a day of wearing them. Not sure what that is about. Other than that, I love these and find them pretty stylish and comfortable. I don't regret the expense one bit.

Didn''t Work
I have wanted Frye ... very long time, and I love the riding ... styles the best. I am about 5'0 and ... were 1 -2 inches too tall for me :( I personally did not like that ... were touching the bottom of my knee cap; however, I will say that I have seen pics of other women wearing ... similar style) to where ... came up that far on ... did not think ... looked bad at all. I am still giving ... 4 stars because if ... had not been too tall for me, I think ... would ... been pretty close to perfect.

Beautiful ... one flaw...
The Frye Paige Tall Riding ... beautiful and well made and ... even work for gals with large calves like myself. My only criticism is that the layered ... front adds visual weight and width to the leg, so if this is an issue for you, you may want to choose an alternate style.

Not super impressed
Ok, so I splurged and bought the paige tall riding ... cognac. They kept pushing back the delivery so I was supposed to get it in December but ended up getting today. The ... smells wonderful and is very thick. Runs true to size to slightly big. I like the length as I am 5'9". But three things I don't like: The profile shape of the base of the ... not very flattering; I mean, they start the shaft before or at my arch and about 1 and a half inches before my ankle, so that it makes my lower leg look wide from the side at the ankle, sort of like rain ... 2) the heel is so short that I thought I would like it, being tall and all, but it is not very flattering and 3) the extra layer of ... makes the frontal view of the ... very wide, which is also not flattering--at least for me. I normally have long slender legs but these ... actually make me look shorter and chunkier, by stopping the visual line that normally runs along my legs (not good for me since this is really my main asset! Lastly, they are just not sexy or cute. So if you are looking for sexy or cute, keep looking! If you want everyday casual ... these may work. If these were way cheaper I would keep them, but for the price I want to like them WAY more than I do! Bummer I have to send them back after waiting so long! Maybe sometime I'll try the Melissa Button ...

Timberland Bethel Buckle
$129.99-$149.99

Riding boots
I am wearing my new Timberland Riding boots today and love them. They were a little tight this AM but as the day goes on they are already stretching out over my foot. I like the adjustable buckle at the top of the calf so I can wear jeans tucked in or have them tighter for wearing only tights. They will scuff a little but I like the worn look.

Nice ...
The boots fit great, a little narrow though. The leather is nice, but the suede could have been better. They do slouch a little in the calf area. Also the ... looks like its been around, like people have been trying them on. Plus they were placed in the box poorly, could have made it more sturdy. But the price was good, so I purchased. Again nice ...

I really wanted to like these, but...
These boots were just too tight. Not so much that I could've gone up a half size, but the top of the boots on my feet seemed to be made for someone with a lower arch, I guess. I also didn't like that the suede part made the boots more slouchy/loose than I would have liked. I want a ... can stand up on it's own, not one that I'd have to pull up each time I stand up from sitting. They did fit my calf perfectly. I liked these boots a lot! Until I put them on... The fit just wasn't right...now have to return these, too. Alas, my quest for the perfect ... continues...

It's lush and buttery soft suede with beautiful soft texture. Could something have gone wrong in production? Why would Timberland purposely have the quality side of the leather on the inside of the ... I'm perplexed. I'm sending these back and exchanging them for another pair, hoping that the one's I received have a defect. In every other way these boots are very stylish, functional, and comfortable. The construction and details (with the exception of the suede) are of very high quality.

Merrell Tetra Launch
$160.00 $149.99 Waterproof

Loved the brown so much I just bought the black
These ... extremely comfortable and seem very well made. Although the zipper doesn't go all the way to the sole, I don't have trouble getting my feet in. I wear size 11, medium width --and these shoes are really comfortable in every dimension. I have average calves and could maybe fit leggings, but nothing thicker, underneath (have been wearing with tights + socks to protect the tights from the top of the ... comparison, I am returning some Teva Montecito ... because they fit but are narrow in the sole and have a wider calf than the Merrells.) The Merrell Tetra has a nice wide but not clunky foot that balances out the rest of ... your body (great for anyone whose style includes wide leg or ... leg pants; you know the balance I'm talking about!) They look great with skirts; fine under pants. Only detraction is that they scuff really easily -- I've never had leather shoes with leather this soft. It's waterproof, but scuffs. I love them so much I'm just going to figure out a way to buff out the scuffs!

LOVE these ...
Love these ... I'm a teacher on my feet all day. Very comfortable. Hard to get on at first, but have gotten easier over time. I wear about once a week on casual day and get compliments every time. Hope to get in black if still available. Pricey but good quality. I'm 5 feet tall, so the shorter shaft is a great scale for a petite person to have a "riding ... look. Most ... come up to my knees!

Not for large calves
First of all, I love this ... only one that seemed to meet my expectations of a flat, leather ... personality but not a lot of hardware (buckles, straps, etc) that were not slouchy looking or had major winter details (shearling, faux fur, etc). I had read just about every single review of this ... had looked at them multiple times in stores, but was never able to try them on because they had sold out of my size. I finally broke down and bought them here and was so excited the day I knew they were going to arrive. Others had mentioned having larger calves and having these ... fit just fine, so I thought I might luck out. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I have 16" calves and I couldn't even zip them up the last 3.5" inches. I am so upset to have to return these; I don't think I'm going to find another pair of ... love so much. (I did e mail Merrell to see if they intend to make their styles in a wide calf version... awaiting a reply from them.) Like some others had mentioned, the foot opening is a little tight, but with a bit of pulling, they went on fine. The brown ... such a rich color and would go with both black and brown clothes. The foot bed fit to size and they seemed like they would have been really comfy to wear.

Not for large calvesFirst of all, I love this ... only one that seemed to meet my expectations of a flat, leather ... personality but not a lot of hardware (buckles, straps, etc) that were not slouchy looking or had major winter details (shearling, faux fur, etc).

Nice multi purpose/all weather ... - Great for traveling!
I think it was mentioned in other reviews; I did go half a size up. I usually wear a 7.5 but an 8 felt best. Glad I did especially after wearing the boots on many long (12+ hr) days in a row. I wear these boots when I want to be fashionable while being very active. I recently wore them on a vacation to Ireland. They were perfect and very versatile–stylish and appropriate for multiple ocassions. I wore them in the city and also trekking across the country and climbing on rocks; the weatherproofing is great and they offer nice traction as well. I've been quite hard on the boots and they show very little wear/scuffing. I am extremely happy with the purchase.

Great Winter ...
While everyone is buying Hunters, I just could not follow the flock and had to go with a more traditional all weather ... my 3rd pair of Keens (my first pair purchased 6 years ago and still in rotation) and I love these boots. I'm 5'3" and about 145lbs. I don't have skinny calves but they are not too meaty either. I can zip these boots over jeans and sweater socks. I would not wear them with skirts necessarily, as I think they are a bit too casual, but I would wear them to grab a bite to eat on a chilly weekend. The foot runs a little small (I'm a size 7) but I think a size up would be too much.

Get these NOW!!!
My calf at its widest is 16 1/2 and that is 13 inch from the floor. I am 5"7 So keep that in mind...that the widest points of a persons calf can very per height and location on the leg. There was a tiny bit of tuggin to get them zippered. But not ALLOT! They stretched out and became more comfortable within a couple of min. I had enough room to tuck in my skinny jeans. I LOVE THESE!! The arch support is perfect for me! Like most Keens order a 1/2 size up. I wear a 9 and got a 9 1/2 fits perfectly. And because of the room at the toes I can wear thick socks. I got the black pair. The leather is a tiny bit distressed but not like trashy distressed. It has a sheen to it so it can be worn with jeans, tights, skirts, dresses. The buckles are a lovely touch. My heal does kinda slide a bit in there...but not enough to complain. There is a bit of bunching around the ankle...but again nothing to really complain about. It doesn't ruin the look to me at all. I plan on using these for a LOOOOOOONG time! I love me some Keens! If you would like to see photos of my boots...I have them on the Keens website. :)GET THESE!! I want them in brown too! But I have to wait a bit for the prices to go down

Comfortable right out of the box
I saw these in person at Nordstrom and thought they were a cute pair of cold weather boots, and I was not disappointed when they arrived. I put them on and went for a mile walk each way, figuring I'd get the breaking in over with, but there were no blisters or pinching. The mild wedge of the heel gives some height without putting too much pressure on the rest of the foot. Everything about them just fits, which basically never happens to me. Yay! I have worn them with skinny jeans and with leggings and skirts, and they look good either way. The leather is definitely rugged, and the little buckles are a nice detail to add interest. I have worn them in the rain with no issues. A solid buy!

Great boots!
I was a little nervous ordering these boots because others reviews had mentioned that they ran a half size small. I normally wear a 10 1/2 or 11. I ordered the 11 and they fit me perfectly. I have athletic calves and the ... slightly tight around my calves, but they are made of very high quality leather and the leather definitely gives with wear. I normally have to wear insoles, but these boots have a moderate supportive arch support. I highly recommend these boots, they are very high quality for the price! My only negative is that the first few times I wore the boots, it rubbed on the back of my ankle. Now that they are broken in, it doesn't bother me anymore.

Beautiful leather, comfortable, stylish. Looks great with skinny jeans and leggings. I specially love the brown color I got in. The only complaint I have is, first time I wore it for the longest period of time (several hours in the mall), I got some hot spots on my calves from the leather rubbing against my skin. Other than that I have no complaints.

Great boots!
I spied these at [...] and loved them, so when I saw these on sale here at Piperlime, I snatched a pair up. The leather is nice and durable, the soles thick (one of my biggest pet peeves are slippery shoes.) As with all Merrells, they're quite comfy. The boots run a bit small so I knew to order a 6 (I'm regularly a 5.5) and the fit was great. I'm petite with skinny ish calves and the calf area of the ... works fine as is with jeans. If I want to wear the boots with tights or leggings, I have to adjust the straps a tiny bit, which bunches up the leather and looks kinda weird. For me, the holes on the straps are too far apart...I'm right in between the regular hole and the next tighter one, so I may have to find a cobbler to add an extra hole in for me. That's my only con for these boots because I otherwise love them!

Nice; Don''t order size up!
Many of the online reviews said to order a half size up. I normally wear a 10 so I ordered both 10 and 10.5 and have to return the 10.5...it was just too big, and I'm a true 10 (sometimes even a little bigger). The 10's fit great with a pair of average thickness socks (athletic socks, thin smartwools, etc.) inside. They are cute, nice leather, etc. (like everyone else has said), but the reason I didn't give 5 stars is because you'd think boots that will often be worn outdoors in the winter would have some traction! I almost lost traction on my kitchen floor in these, though I'm sure it wouldn't really be a problem unless you were on ice. That being said, I'm still going to keep them (maybe yax trax?). Nice, comfortable boots!

Cute, but not my style
I own other Keen shoes, and I am pleased with the comfort and quality of the brand. I was searching for a black ... would be comfortable and versitile. I want to wear them with skinny jeans, leggings and dresses...but I would also like to be able to dress them up or down. These boots I felt were just a little casual for me...I just could not see these paired with nice pair of jeans and dressy top for going out to dinner. They would be great for only casual wear...shopping, errands, travel, and maybe a casual work environment. The ... definitely comfortable, the leather substantial, and I even liked the style and look of the ... So, I did return them because I would have needed a second pair of black boots for the season. But if you are strictly looking for a casual and comfortable ... might be for you.

Great casual boots
I ordered these boots in my regular size (6.5) and a 7 based on reviews that they run small. I agree that they run small. My toe was hitting the front of the ... 6.5. So I went with the 7. The ... fits well. It is extremely comfortable. The only complaint is that my heel lifts up every time I step (it happened in both sizes), which is a bit annoying, but it's not annoying enough to not want the boots. The style and comfort are definitely worth it. The ... height is good - right below the knee, and the ... not too wide. I have smaller calves but not abnormally small. The ... slightly larger than my calf, which still looks good and feels comfortable.

Nice shoes!
Boots are beautiful, well made. Definitely order 1/2 size up as they run small. One ... noticeably larger than the other, I'm assuming this is due to the fact that they are leather and one may have been stretched. I ordered this in two sizes, and the other pair was normal, so I think this was just random but something to look out for. Snug in the calves, but I have large calves. Will work nicely with a skirt or under pants, but not sure if they will fit over jeans unless they stretch over time.
