LOVE ... new favorite ...
I spent an entire day at the mall looking for black, ... high ... were comfortable, yet chic. ... having any luck at the mall, I checked Piperlime and found ... Steve Madden ... absolutely adore ... I've worn ... leggings (to run errands), jeans (for a night out with friends), and even with dresses (to work). ... just ... versatile and very comfy!! The top folds over to give you flexibility with the height, and the ... doesnt look cheap. Definitely a great value for the price!!

Perfect Slouchy ... Very Versatile.
I ... seen all kinds of reviews for this ... already and by now you are probably sick of reading ... LOVE ... slouchy ... not suede, low heeled, and simple; no trendy details that will be out of style in a few months. I got ... black and had no issues with the quality of the ... sole or lining. Do note a few things: the outer sole is smooth, almost wood grain, ... if you need traction you will need to put something on the bottoms, or find a different ... thin soled ... may also need to put in another insole for comfort. The toe is pointy ... not extreme. Uncuffed and scrunched, ... reach just below the knee (I am 5'8" and pretty leggy). I haven't worn ... cuffed yet. I think ... pretty true to size; I wear 8.5 or 9s and I chose 8.5 ... little snug around ... toes ... think the ... still stretch. I ... worn ... skinny jeans and a dress and ... looked great with both. Very versatile! I am hoping ... last for several fall/winter seasons. I gave ... 4 out of 5 since there is a little lack of cushion and traction ... otherwise ... great!

found exactly what I wanted
I looked high and low for a pair of comfy low or no healed black ... (not suede) ... wear with leggings and skinny jeans/pants. I found one pair ... after 2 months ... broke. ... perfect solution. Much better made than ... previous pair. Looks great and can be casual or dressed up a bit for going out for cocktails. Would buy again and definitely recommend.

Comfortable, okay for price
I am 5'6" and 110lbs. I bought ... pair in 7.5 given strong reviews and seeing the calf circumference was 13". ... little bit loose on me, as I ... very narrow feet, ... not enough to bother me. I also hoped the ... would come up a bit higher, closer to ... knees. You'll definitely need to get insoles for extra padding. In terms of quality, for the price, it's reasonable. The ... not great quality, however. It claims it is made of ... highly doubtful. Also, after wearing this for 4 days, the front of the ... already showing wear and the black outline of the soles ... come off and ... appear wooden color. ... may already need to remedy ... shoes with some black sharpies. I probably will not purchase ... again, ... price I got it on sale and the comfort of the shoes (WITH insoles), its not bad. I can't see it lasting for more than a year though.

Cute ... - wrong fit
Ordered ... high school daughter who chose this style out of many and eagerly awaited their arrival. Sad to say, ... do run small and there was a dark stain on the cuff of one ... well as scratches in the ... style is adorable ... we ended up returning ... purchasing a larger size at a local store to ensure fit and quality. New ...
Just received ... new ... mail and absolutely Love ... heel gives just enough height without being uncomfortable and the ... itself fits beautifully stopping just short of ... knee.

Great buy!
I wanted not super expensive knee high ... were stylish and I got exactly what I wanted with this pair! I'm 5' 1" and ... perfect because ... give me some height, ... wedged so that I can walk around for long periods of time in ... would ... preferred ... dark brown color, ... sienna color is great. I also appreciate that the upper is all Brazilian ... too because I'm always trying to look for quality!!

LOVE ... usually wear a 10 ... can get away with a 9.5 in some heels. Got ... 10 and ... fit perfect. I wore ... 1st time yesterday and ... look absolutely amazing. Love the height (sits right below the knee), its not too high ... not awkwardly right in the middle of ... calf. The little bit of heel and the height of the ... make ... legs look longer (where mine are usually short looking, i wore ... shorts and a long plaid shirt, received so many compliments!). ... comfortable, though after wearing ... all day ... feet were a little sore (outer edges on the front of ... feet). Maybe because like the other reviews were saying, ... do run a tad small (narrow in the front), ... then ... feet are a bit wide. Honestly though, this was after wearing ... 8 hours, pretty good for just breaking ... would Definitely definitely definitely recommend ...

Super Cute and Comfortable
Ordered ... brown and black. The only problem with ... deciding which color I liked more. The brown ... definitely had a "bumpy" texture like I had read in previous reviews, however both ... matched in texture so I didn't find this to be an issue. Ultimately I decided to keep the black and return the brown because I ... found it much more difficult to find a cute black riding ... high quality, not manly and can be dressed up or down. ... perfect for what I was looking for. Just wore ... retro chiffon dress - perfect for Fall!

Great ... short girls!
I am 5' 1" and usually ... hard time finding tall ... don't come up too high and look too big. ... great height and ... slouch a little bit, so ... look correctly proportioned on me. ... very comfortable; I wore ... vacation for several days in a row without breaking ... had no problems. The gray is a nice versatile color, and I got a lot of compliments on ... small calves, and I find ... smidge snug on ... calves even with "jeggings" on, ... there is an adjustable buckle and I could let ... out a notch if really needed too. I kind of like ... snug, because it keeps ... slouching too much. Overall, I'm really happy with ... after trying on 4 other styles!

Cute ...
After reading all the reviews, I ordered a half a size up from ... usual 6 1/2 to a 7. I ... high arch and a very slightly wide toe bed. I'm glad I ordered up because the toe area narrows, so ... seem still comfortable, ... loose. With heavy winter socks and once ... break in a little, I'm sure ... fine. The ... looks and feels great, and looks expensive. I'm worried about ... staining in rain or snow so I'll ... waterproof ... skinny jeans ... great, ... barely buckle on the loosest setting, and I don't ... thick calves at all. I like ... cognac color is great so I am happy.

Wanted to love, ... didn''t get what I expected
I really loved a lot of things about ... slight wedge without it being overwhelming, the height of the shaft, and the style of ... just to name a few. I wear a pretty standard 7.5, ... ordered an 8 because I didn't want ... tight on ... calves and I wanted to be able to comfortably wear thick socks with ... am 5'2" with a long torso and shorter legs, so I didn't want ... were too high or too narrow). ... were HUGE in the calves. ... only ... ever tried on that actually gaped open on the sides. The tarnished gold buckle really cheapens the look of the ... too, ... if ... would ... fit well, that detail wouldn't ... kept me from keeping and wearing ... honestly feel like the 7.5 would be too big around the calves too, just based on how humongous the 8s were, ... may try to exchange ... anyway. And trust me, I ... had many difficulties getting ... around ... legs, so I definitely ... larger than-average calves!

Cute ... shaft height short
I was looking for a taller ... came up higher to the knee and based on the product overview ... fit the bill at a 17" shaft height. Unfortunately when I received ... order I was disappointed. The shaft height only measured 15". I called customer service and ordered another pair in hopes that the shaft height was a manufacturing error...the shaft heigh on the second pair also measured 15". ... cute, comfortable, & look good with leggings so I decided to keep one pair & returned the other ... definitely fall short of ... expectations.

I wanted to like ...
... they're a bit 'pirate' for me - slouchy in the ankle, wide at the knee - and if you cinch ... buckle ... bow out in the calf. They're cute, ... just not the right style for me - wanted something with a little more structure. ... would highly recommend ... anyone who wants that style. I would also recommend ordering a size up. They're very comfortable, and a very nice color (I ordered the cognac), though the ... seemed just a tad cheap.

Had high hopes ... had to send ... back
I had really high hopes for ... had ... eye on ... really long time. I am usually between a 7.5 and a 8 and after reading others reviews I went with the size 8. I order the brown and the black because I was unsure which I liked best. I thought the 8 was too big and believe ... run more true to size in ... case than others experienced. I wanted to love the brown however ... arrived slightly scuffed already and I didn't feel like ... would last that long without looking really rugged. Overall I think I'm just looking for a little higher of a wedge heel because the flat ... slight wedge heel just doesn't work for me!

Size just didn''t work for me...
Love Steven by Steve Madden-- ... just didn't work for me. I am a 'solid' 8.5 and ... VERY difficult to pull on with ... high arches as there is no side zipper. Love the look, ... hate the fit (for me). ... might've worked if I had just traded for the next size up.

LOVE!!!
I have been wanting these ... over a year now and I finally took the plunge! I read every single review available on Piperlime and other websites before I purchased these ... because ... do cost a lot of money. However, I believe that quality shoes are worth the investment and I hope this pair of Frye's is no exception to the rule. I am 5"8 and wear a size 10 in all shoes so naturally I ordered a size 10-they fit like a glove. My legs are average and ... fit perfectly around my calves and there is still room to wear with slim to skinny pants. The arch is nice but might feel like there's a bump under your foot if you don't have a high arch. ... slick on the bottom, but just need to be scuffed up on some gravel. I ordered them in cognac and the color is beautiful and ... smell just like the leather goods sold from the vendors in Italy. I love them and recommend to anyone who wants a quality ...

Love these ...
I purchased the Melissa button in distressed chocolate. They look like they are very worn in. I wasn't 100% sure that I would like that, but I didn't want smooth, shiny ... time. I love them. The color is so dark that they go nicely with black and brown and also gray and any other color. I am 5'1" and the shaft height is perfect for me. About 1 1/2 inches below my knee. They were easy for me to put on and take off - I didn't have the same issues some have had, but I think the distressed chocolate may already be softened from the process. I bought non skid adhesive grips for the bottom and never once had an issue with sliding or slipping even though the bottoms are slick. My daughter and I went to look at other colors and the more smooth styles kind of look like rain ... first, but the distressed don't. I'm sure the vintage style would not either. I was very nervous to spend so much on one pair of ... - I'm frugal. But these ... such a classic style and so well made, I'm sure I will wear them for the rest of my life. I love how they look. I wasn't sure I was a ... dress type of girl, but I am with these ... kept looking at other ... $150-$200 range and nothing grabbed me like these did.I don't regret spending the money, and bought these during a 20% off sale, which did help a little. Go for it!

Perfect Winter ...
I'm a consutlant that spends a lot of time on the road between Atlanta, Minneapolis, and Chicago. I bought these for my daily walk in Minneapolis to work. Paired with cashmere knee socks, ... comfortable and cute. However, if you are going through security at the airport, you are going to need to sit down to take these off if you are wearing a skirt. I think these ... hold up well over time and like them more than a Burberry pair I have.

love them!
They are so beautiful and perfect. The leather takes a few wears to break in to where it's comfortable, but they are so worth it. The height is perfect if you tend to have problems with the regular height boots. Most riding boots generally come a little too high, hitting the bottom of my knee, but these are perfect.

Love them- worth the price!
If you are reading this, it means you are seriously debating ordering these ... want to tell you, DO IT! You won't regret it. I ordered the Melissa button ... black hoping for a nice, timeless yet hip black ... winter. I wanted something that wasn't too matronly and buttoned up, that I could wear with skinny jeans, leggings, and short dresses. Maybe a bare leg if the weather was nice. :) I also ride horses and don't want to spend the money for riding ... so these will be great for that too- and there is nothing like a little horse poo to make your ... look even more lived in and loved! :) I have always loved the style of the Frye campus but it is a little too biker chic for my everyday need or wearing to work. So I ordered Melissa and I wasn't disappointed! These ... arrived and it was obvious ... were a great quality product. Very thick, supple leather, heavy yet flexible and I just know ... wear wonderfully once ... broken in! And the smell! Oh, heavenly! I keep getting whiffs of it and I just smile. :) As for sizing, I am usually a 7 but as most reviewers suggested, I bought a 6.5 and immediately one went on easily. The other one was a little tighter and I had to use the plastic bag trick (I think one of my feet is larger than the other- it wasn't a flaw with the ... were comfortable right off the bat and didn't rub or squeeze too much with a thin sock and jeans on. I should mention that I have an impossibly high instep and the first night I got them, I wore a thicker sock with my skinny jeans and I could feel the tightness in my instep, but today I wore tights and ... were great all day. Gorgeous ...
Gorgeous ... worth every penny, very nice soft leather, very comfortable. As prior reviews stated, ... do run a little big. I'm a true size 8, still ordered an 8 and yep, ... bit big but nothing a thicker sock can't fix! ... sit about 2 inches below my knee, I'm 5'5" and there's also enough room for tucked in skinny jeans and that is with my thicker (than regular) calves. If you have very skinny legs, this may be an issue. Hope this helps.

Best ... ever

My usual size is between 9 or 9 1/2, I ordered the 9 and it fit perfectly. Another issue is the calf - my calves are 14.5 inches and I still have plenty of space to fit skinny jeans and leggings definitely not an issue. These ... gorgeous - I got them in cognac. The only issue I have with the ... scuff very easily, i guess it adds to the character of the ... buy the wax Frye sells to protect them.

love these ... soooo cute and comfortable! i ordered a 7 even though i normally wear a 6.5 - wanted to have room to wear thick socks - with socks, ... perfect. ordered the fawn color - it's pretty much as pictured - a grayish very neutral brown. the leather is nice and soft, but with structure. i'm 5'6'' with average calves, and ... 2'' from my knee, with room to tuck jeans in. great quality, as always with frye.

Just lovely, but Fryes run huge. (Long review because I think such a high price warrants knowing details of what you''re buying!)
I wish I could give these a 4.5 - the appearance is nearly perfect, but all Frye boots have fit/sizing quirks that sort of get on my nerves. If they were cheaper, this would be excusable, but for the price, those quirks warrant a 4. If you're reading the reviews, you probably want to know about those negative or unexpected aspects before spending over $300, so I'll mention those first (but that doesn't mean that the positive doesn't outweigh the negative or that I would change much about these boots). I'm still keeping them, and it was still worth it [...]. NOT SO-GOOD: 1. The soles seem relatively durable (some Frye boots have thinner soles than I like), which is nice, but lots of Fryes have pretty smooth bottoms, so be careful with them on slippery surfaces when they're new - the traction will be questionable until you scuff up the soles yourself a bit. 2. Like with all Frye boots I've tried on, it was tough to get my foot to fit through the ankle of the ... but the pull tabs help a ton. (Getting them off is even harder, but it's worth it. I think that aspect of the fit prevents you from interrupting this really smooth leather silhouette with zippers or gores while making for a good, stable fit once they are on.) 3. Along the same lines, I have pretty average calves - not tiny, but I rarely have trouble with any boots not fitting over them - and I never need a wide shaft ... but these come close to being too tight (just barely enough space to cram jeans in with no room left over), so if your calves are bigger, you may not like these. 4. Most important to know: the sizing. I wear an 8 in almost every flat or heel, an 8-8.5 in most boots (sometimes need extra sock room) and 8.5-9 in running shoes. The 8 in Fryes leaves at least an inch between my big toe and the end of the shoe (even with moderately thick socks). I have a 7.5 in these and it's still quite roomy in the toe box - I could go smaller if I had narrow feet and skinny calves, but if I went down more with my foot shape the midfoot would be super tight. I'm sticking with the 7.5 and there will be nice room for socks and toe wiggling... and maybe insoles because arch support in Fryes isn't great (but then again my extreme over pronation makes me picky). (They might add some of this extra toe room intentionally - I think I'm used to less since modern shoes, especially nice women's shoes, tend to love the narrow toe box, which is what we're all used to, but in the end it's better for your feet if your toes can spread naturally and aren't crammed up against anything.) Now for the really GOOD aspects: 1. Like all the Frye boots I've seen, these have beautiful leather. It looks like you could never wear it out. I have the Fawn color, and I love it. I didn't want a high polish appearance; I wanted a soft looking (but not super distressed) brown, medium dark, and that's exactly what I got. It's not a very warm brown - there's an underlying dark greyish hue - but I like that because the color is really neutral while still being attractive on its own. Perfect and will match about anything. 2. The simple silhouette is really nice (if you, like me, are not a huge fan of cowboyish or overly rugged-and chunky silhouettes). 3. Short girls like me, take note: I'm not quite-5'4" and not leggy (~30 inch inseam), and there are many beautiful knee high Frye ... styles that I can't wear at all because the shaft comes all the way to the middle of my knee. However these hit just where they should! Yay! (Also good for short girls who want knee high Fryes - the Shirley Riding ... [not the over knee Shirley, but the knee high one with two buckles] which has a top that is made so that it can be cuffed down to a reasonable height. (If you're tall/leggy, know that the Melissa boots will probably not come all the way up to right below your knee.) [...]

Beautiful ... too short though
These ... were beautiful, great quality leather and would have been exactly what I was looking for, but as other tall people have noted, ... just do not come up high enough on my calf. I am 5'8, and these ... just looked odd when I put them on because ... hit to low on my calf. I returned them immediately.

Beautiful ... but didn''t work for me
I was so sad when I tried to put these ... They are absolutely beautiful, but did not fit. I am 5'7" and I guess I have longer than normal legs. The widest part of my calf hit the top of these ... they get a bit narrower). I expected them to come to just below my knee and they were a good few inches shorter than that. I am sending them back because ... were just so tight in the calf. People say that ... stretch, but for the price I wanted a perfect fit. There was no way I was going to be able to get a pair of jeans in there. I gave them three stars anyway because if my legs had been shorter I would have kept them and loved them.

Beautiful ... too short though These ... were beautiful, great quality leather and would have been exactly what I was looking for, but as other tall people have noted, ... just do not come up high enough on my calf. I am 5'8, and these ... just looked odd when I put them on because ... hit to low on my calf. I returned them immediately.

Beautiful ... but didn''t work for me I was so sad when I tried to put these ...

Veronica Slouch Boots
These boots are everything I expected. I absolutely love Frye boots and these are no exception. Based on the other reviews I was concerned that they would run small, however, I took a chance and ordered my standard size 8.5 and they fit perfectly. They are so cute and comfortable. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them.

About the Sizing. . .
This is for any of you out there wondering about which size to get. Warning: sizes sell out fast so you may want to order 2 and send one back! After trying many pairs on, here it is: If you are between half sizes the Frye website actually tells you to order a size down. Instead, I chose to follow the reviews I read all over that said to order a size up on this style. I usually wear a size 8.5 & sometimes a 9 in running shoes, so I ordered a 9. It would have worked IF I wanted to wear thick socks (like hiking socks), however the calf was a lot larger too (my calf size is 12.5 inches) and they didn't look right (the two different buckles can be adjusted to smaller/larger but on the smallest hole they look really wrinkled/weird). The actual measurement difference between sizes is only a few centimeters but it is amazing how much of a difference it makes. Luckily, there were still 8.5's left and those were perfect for me. I like the feel of a knee high sock with them and most of those type of socks are pretty thin. As far as comfort with a thin sock they are perfectly comfortable right from the start. Also, the leather in the foot area will stretch slightly. The Frye site also says that heel slippage is normal and will stop after awhile. It hasn't bothered me. I have a flat foot so they are so easy to put on but someone with a high arch might have a harder time. As far as the calf circumference- they could be even a little smaller for me- but they look fine with skinny jeans and okay with skirts. With a small calf, they don't really slouch unless you push them down. The quality is beautiful (although I had to send back one flawed pair in the process). They sole can be resoled in the future so I know I will have them for many years to come. I wish Piperlime had the Frye Leather Conditioners. I get compliments every time I wear them. And that is the end of the longest review ever.

Boots for a petite gal
I am in love with these boots. I am a little under 5' and have been looking for a pair of tall boots forever! These are perfect for all the petite girls out there. Even though I have slightly muscular caves, these fit me perfectly over skinny jeans or tights. As the other reviewers mentioned it is a little difficult to get your feet into them but once they are on they are so comfortable... I could walk in them all day.

Fabulous
These boots really are fantastic! Straight out of the box they are comfortable and they look great. I ordered half a size larger than normal so they wouldn't be tight with heavy winter socks and they fit great. These boots are expensive but they are worth every penny.

buy these boots
My husband bought me these boots 6 years ago in the slate. They are probably my favorite pair of boots and I have many, many pairs of boots. They look great with everything!! I usually wear a 7.5 but ordered in an 8 (I tried them on locally in black) they were a little hard to get on the first time, even had to unbuckle at the ankle. They took no time to break in and talk about durable, the quality is excellent. I stand on my feet all day as a hairstylist and they are super comfy. I have worn these boots doing the hands on renovation of my salon, working all day, and even had a spray paint can leak silver paint all over them, thought they were ruined. I cleaned them off with paint thinner, which made them stiff and white and chalky, but a little saddle soap and they looked even better than new and softer. I constantly get compliments on them, the more distressed they get the better they look.

MUST HAVE BOOTS!
I own these boots in slate, and I wear them ALL the time! They go with everything and look so stylish and beautiful. There was a brief breaking in period with these, but now they fit like a dream and are sooo comfortable. I love FRYE, and these boots live up to the quality and style that you would expect from Frye. I get compliments galore on these boots! I don't think I could live without them.

Wonderful shoes
I was so nervous when I tried on this pair of boots. Almost all previous reviews have told me that how hard it is to pull it on. So I carefully sat down and set aside 5 mins to pull it on. But wow! You just can't image how easy it is to pull it on, much easier than UGGs, than boots with side zip, easier than any other boots I've ever tried. The amazing part is that the shoes won't slip once it is on. I ordered size 6, my normal shoe size, and it is perfect fit. The leather is so soft and it can't support it itself if you let it stand on its own. But when it is on you, it won't slouch around your ankle like other boots. If you like slouch style, you might just play with it since leather is buttery like material. I just don't wanna mess with it and like the way it is now. The color I got is dark brown, it is similar as the picture in website, just a little darker. It is an absolutely pair of low key but high quality boots. Now I am eyeing on other FRYE boots, just can't be satisfied with the fact that I am only owning one pair of boots from FRYE!

The Perfect ...
After searching high and low, I have found the PERFECT ... picture doesn't do them justice... They look great with jeans, skirts, and dresses and I've received soooo many compliments. They were a little difficult to put on at first but after a couple of days they slide right on so don't let that discourage you - because once they're on, it's a little slice of heaven on your feet... This is one purchase I'll never regret...

So comfortable!
I love these boots so much. They don't need any breaking in - I wore them all over downtown Denver in the snow and they were incredibly comfortable! They also look cute - a little wide in the leg, but I tucked in my jeans and they were perfect. These were my first Frye boots, and I will definitely be buying Frye again the next time I need boots!

gorgeous boots!
I've been eyeing these boots for some time, and finally decided to take the splurge. Am I ever glad I did! I normally wear a 7 1/2 but based upon other reviews and having very high arches and being afraid I might not be able to get my feet into a 7 1/2, I chose to go w/ the 8s. They do slip a little on my heel if I'm not wearing thick enough socks, but other than that the fit is great. No issues whatsoever getting them on or off, and they were incredibly comfortable right out of the box! I have very sensitive feet, so this is saying something. I also tend to have larger calves and have had difficulty with other tall boots, but I'm able to wear these with ... socks and skinny jeans and have room to spare. The leather is gorgeously soft; I'm giving them 4 stars b/c I thought they were made in the US but instead are made in China.

Great Boots!!
I have been searching for the perfect boots and I have finally found them!! I love these boots!! I just got them and they are pretty comfortable, but I think, after reading other reviews, that they will continue to get more comfy as they get broken in. They do feel like they may run a half size too small. They just feel a little snug in the heel. I think it might be that they feel "short" because the heel is more narrow than some other boots I had tried on. I do recommend these boots!
