$595.00 Stretch calf for an easy fitFrye Paige Tall Riding
$378.00 Rachel Zoe's pickknee high boots - reviews

Great quality, worth the price! My husband recently bought me the Paige Tall Riding boots in cognac for my birthday. I am 5'4 and have an average to slim build. They fit true to size and are absolutely stunning. The leather is soft and the color is so rich. They hit right below the knee and there is just enough room for skinny jeans or leggings inside. These boots were definitely an investment and will be a wardrobe staple for years to come!

Love my Frye boots. These are the perfect ... They look amazing. I am 5''4 and I have slender calfs. I was worried that they were going to be to bulky around he legs after reading other reviews. I love the way they look and think they will be perfect with either leggings or skinny jeans. You will definitely need to pull these on with the ... loops at the top. A pair of nylon knee high socks were very helpful in getting them on. I love these boots they are a timeless ... well worth the $$ and will last forever!!!

Must have Boots! Comfortable and StylishLove love love these boots! The color is perfect for fall, and the distressed look makes them look like I have owned them for years. They look amazing with skinny jeans or a vintage dress. Always receive compliments. Worth every penny- will get tons of use out of these for years to come. My fave pair of Frye boots to date. They run true to size- I wear a 7.5 in dress shoes and sneakers, and the 7.5 fit perfectly. The first time I wore them, they were a little difficult to take off, but after a few wears and breaking them in, this is not a problem at all. The height is just right as well- I am 5'6'' and they are a couple inches below my knee. Super comfortable and durable. I walk everywhere and they do not hurt my feet- including the first time I wore them.

LOVE these boots!First Piperlime has wonderful free shipping. I ordered these boots on Monday and they were at my house on Wednesday! These boots fit great! I am 5"4 and these hit just below my knee. I got a 7 and I normally wear a 7.5 in most shoes. I had tried on the melissa button boots but wanted a pair that were a little higher and more relaxed feeling. First time I wore them my feet hurt after a couple of hours. Second time I wore them no discomfort at all. I was a little afriad that my calves might not fit but they are perfect. My skinny jeans fit in nicey. I have Hunters and they are little tight with skinny jeans. Also they smelled great and the color was very pretty.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!I have been looking for a new pair of black riding boots for quite some time now. It seems that every pair I tried on looked like fireman boots and were way too clunky and definitely not feminine! I'm glad I held out for the right pair because these are beautiful! Great quality, and the perfect height for me. (I'm 5'7", so I don't like when boots only come up to mid calf on me that are supposed to be just below the knee.) Well worth the price!

LOOOOVE these bootsI tried these boots on in forest green at my local Nordstroms, and then proceeded to look for a better deal on them, in black (I love the green, but it isn't practical for me). I have had these boots now for about 2 months (since December) and love them to pieces. Most Frye's have a long break in period, but these were comfortable from the start. They are still a bit difficult to get on and off, but it is manageable. I wear a size 7 in these boots, where typically I wear a 7.5 (EU 38), but the fit is very comfortable. I am not sure if maybe the ... circumference varies with the ... size, but I have very skinny legs, about a 12 - 13" calf, and these boots (because they come up to just below my knee) do not appear, or feel or even appear to be too large for my skinny legs. If you are considering buying these boots, DO IT. I love them and get tons of compliments, and as always, you can't beat Frye quality.

true lovei. love. these. boots. Ever single penny I spent on these boots (which was a lot) was worth it! I decided to give myself an early christmas present and get these because they looked like the perfect below the knee ... believe me, they are!! I don't have long legs but these hit me right below the knee cap which is exactly where I wanted them to go. I'm a 7.5 and they fit perfectly. The first night I wore them they were so comfortable. I thought they'd take some breaking it but nope! I want to wear them all day every day. I'm pretty picky about my boots especially the toe. I like rounded toes and these have the perfect curve. so, if you're not so sure about these because of the price tag..consider it an investment! you won't regret it!

They''re worth itLike a lot of people who have bought these boots, I was hesitant to shell out the extra money for them, but I've also been looking for the perfect brown flat boots for multiple seasons now, with nothing that struck me, until now. I got them in Cognac, size 9, which is what I generally wear for most shoes. They fit well -- don't size down. You'll regret it. I thought I might consider putting insoles in them, but it feels too tight when I do that. I also didn't run into the issue of having trouble pulling them on or off, like many others seemed to. As for the look and feel -- the leather looks rich, substantial and 'not cheap'. You can tell these boots are the real deal and will last forever. The shaft height is perfect, ending right below my knee (I am 5'8"). I admit, they are a tiny bit stiffer than I'm used to with boots out of the box, but I imagine a lot of it has to do with the fact that they're riding boots with thicker leather than average. I assume that will improve over time, as they've been breaking in gradually over the last couple weeks I've had them. The only reason I didn't give these 5 stars, vs. 4 is that my pinky toes get a little irritated after a day of wearing them. Not sure what that is about. Other than that, I love these and find them pretty stylish and comfortable. I don't regret the expense one bit.

Didn''t WorkI have wanted Frye boots for a very long time, and I love the riding boots styles the best. I am about 5'0 and these boots were 1 -2 inches too tall for me :( I personally did not like that they were touching the bottom of my knee cap; however, I will say that I have seen pics of other women wearing them (or a similar style) to where they came up that far on them, and I did not think they looked bad at all. I am still giving them 4 stars because if they had not been too tall for me, I think they would have been pretty close to perfect.

... Lover Approved I was reluctant to spend this much money on shoes that I'd just seen online and not in real life. I'd been looking for 'investment' boots that would last me many seasons to come and that have a classic look. Frye's Paige boots are so beautiful in person. The leather is soft and has a worn in look which I like-- I got the cognac color. I'm expecting them to look great with everything, dress up or casual. I normally wear a 9.5 and ordered that size, but these seem a little snug on my little toes. I'm hoping it's just happening because it's the middle of summer and my feet are a little bigger right now in the heat...? Hopefully after breaking these in the tight fit will loosen up. I didn't think it was worth returning them to get the size up. For reference, I am 5'7" 120 lbs. and the boots hit perfectly below my knee and the shaft is not too big nor too snug.

Too bigThe boots are nice (supple leather, nice color, nice style) but just too big all around. I'm petite at barely 5'4" so the ... came up to mid knee, which looked weird. They were also pretty wide in calf circumference. It looked like I was wearing my husbands boots. They just simply didn't work for me, but perhaps would be perfect for a taller person or someone who likes having extra room in the calf.
Frye Melissa Button
$309.99-$348.00 Rachel Zoe's pickknee high boots - reviews

Can''t wait for fall! These boots are beautiful and fit like a dream. I have a muscular 14 1/2 inch calf muscle so I have difficulty finding knee high boots that fit well. These are high quality and well worth the money. Though I am waiting for fall to wear them out, I am sure that I will get years of use from these classically styled boots.

Love these bootsI purchased the Melissa button in distressed chocolate. They look like they are very worn in. I wasn't 100% sure that I would like that, but I didn't want smooth, shiny boots this time. I love them. The color is so dark that they go nicely with black and brown and also gray and any other color. I am 5'1" and the shaft height is perfect for me. About 1 1/2 inches below my knee. They were easy for me to put on and take off - I didn't have the same issues some have had, but I think the distressed chocolate may already be softened from the process. I bought non skid adhesive grips for the bottom and never once had an issue with sliding or slipping even though the bottoms are slick. My daughter and I went to look at other colors and the more smooth styles kind of look like rain boots at first, but the distressed don't. I'm sure the vintage style would not either. I was very nervous to spend so much on one pair of boots - I'm frugal. But these boots are such a classic style and so well made, I'm sure I will wear them for the rest of my life. I love how they look. I wasn't sure I was a boots and dress type of girl, but I am with these boots! I kept looking at other boots in the $150-$200 range and nothing grabbed me like these did.I don't regret spending the money, and bought these during a 20% off sale, which did help a little. Go for it!

Perfect Winter ... I'm a consutlant that spends a lot of time on the road between Atlanta, Minneapolis, and Chicago. I bought these for my daily walk in Minneapolis to work. Paired with cashmere knee socks, they are comfortable and cute. However, if you are going through security at the airport, you are going to need to sit down to take these off if you are wearing a skirt. I think these boots will hold up well over time and like them more than a Burberry pair I have.

love them! They are so beautiful and perfect. The leather takes a few wears to break in to where it's comfortable, but they are so worth it. The height is perfect if you tend to have problems with the regular height boots. Most riding boots generally come a little too high, hitting the bottom of my knee, but these are perfect.

Love them- worth the price! If you are reading this, it means you are seriously debating ordering these boots. I want to tell you, DO IT! You won't regret it. I ordered the Melissa button ... black hoping for a nice, timeless yet hip black ... winter. I wanted something that wasn't too matronly and buttoned up, that I could wear with skinny jeans, leggings, and short dresses. Maybe a bare leg if the weather was nice. :) I also ride horses and don't want to spend the money for riding boots so these will be great for that too- and there is nothing like a little horse poo to make your boots look even more lived in and loved! :) I have always loved the style of the Frye campus but it is a little too biker chic for my everyday need or wearing to work. So I ordered Melissa and I wasn't disappointed! These boots arrived and it was obvious they were a great quality product. Very thick, supple leather, heavy yet flexible and I just know they will wear wonderfully once they are broken in! And the smell! Oh, heavenly! I keep getting whiffs of it and I just smile. :) As for sizing, I am usually a 7 but as most reviewers suggested, I bought a 6.5 and immediately one went on easily. The other one was a little tighter and I had to use the plastic bag trick (I think one of my feet is larger than the other- it wasn't a flaw with the ... They were comfortable right off the bat and didn't rub or squeeze too much with a thin sock and jeans on. I should mention that I have an impossibly high instep and the first night I got them, I wore a thicker sock with my skinny jeans and I could feel the tightness in my instep, but today I wore tights and they were great all day. I am a petite 5'2', 115 with thin calves and the tops of the boots are nicely snug so if you have any concerns about your calf width, try the extended calf. Usually high boots like these are baggy on me but these fit well at the top, although by the ankle there is ample room. I love these and can't wait to wear them for years to come!!!!!!!

Gorgeous Boots!Gorgeous boots, worth every penny, very nice soft leather, very comfortable. As prior reviews stated, they do run a little big. I'm a true size 8, still ordered an 8 and yep, they are a bit big but nothing a thicker sock can't fix! They sit about 2 inches below my knee, I'm 5'5" and there's also enough room for tucked in skinny jeans and that is with my thicker (than regular) calves. If you have very skinny legs, this may be an issue. Hope this helps.

Best boots everThese are my first Frye boots and will not be the last. The boots are a little narrow but the leather will stretch out soon. I have only worn them twice. Some people were mentioning that if you have a high arch the boots would be hard to get in, not true. I have a higher arch than most people and the boots slide right in. My usual size is between 9 or 9 1/2, I ordered the 9 and it fit perfectly. Another issue is the calf - my calves are 14.5 inches and I still have plenty of space to fit skinny jeans and leggings definitely not an issue. These boots are gorgeous - I got them in cognac. The only issue I have with the boots is they scuff very easily, i guess it adds to the character of the ... buy the wax Frye sells to protect them.

love!love these boots, soooo cute and comfortable! i ordered a 7 even though i normally wear a 6.5 - wanted to have room to wear thick socks - with socks, they are perfect. ordered the fawn color - it's pretty much as pictured - a grayish very neutral brown. the leather is nice and soft, but with structure. i'm 5'6'' with average calves, and they are about 2'' from my knee, with room to tuck jeans in. great quality, as always with frye.

Gorgeous "Extended Calf Tall" Boots!I got super super excited when I saw that these boots were extended calf. I wouldn't say I have huge calves. But for some reason Frye thinks "normal" calves are a 13.5" circumference. Apparently I'm not supposed to have any muscle on my legs at all. Well sorry. I do. So these are great! They are incredibly comfortable. The only weird thing about these boots are there is an extra bit of room right at the back of the lip of the ... Maybe for someone with really curvy calves? And so taking that as a clue I dont think these boots are meant to go up to the knee, but about 3" below the knee... I'm 5'5" and they do not extend up to my knee. If I was a bit taller these boots would be going back. But luckily, it still fits me and i love my other Frye booties so YIPPEEE I now have tall(ish) Frye boots!

Just lovely, but Fryes run huge. (Long review because I think such a high price warrants knowing details of what you''re buying!)I wish I could give these a 4.5 - the appearance is nearly perfect, but all Frye boots have fit/sizing quirks that sort of get on my nerves. If they were cheaper, this would be excusable, but for the price, those quirks warrant a 4. If you're reading the reviews, you probably want to know about those negative or unexpected aspects before spending over $300, so I'll mention those first (but that doesn't mean that the positive doesn't outweigh the negative or that I would change much about these boots). I'm still keeping them, and it was still worth it [...]. NOT SO-GOOD: 1. The soles seem relatively durable (some Frye boots have thinner soles than I like), which is nice, but lots of Fryes have pretty smooth bottoms, so be careful with them on slippery surfaces when they're new - the traction will be questionable until you scuff up the soles yourself a bit. 2. Like with all Frye boots I've tried on, it was tough to get my foot to fit through the ankle of the ... but the pull tabs help a ton. (Getting them off is even harder, but it's worth it. I think that aspect of the fit prevents you from interrupting this really smooth leather silhouette with zippers or gores while making for a good, stable fit once they are on.) 3. Along the same lines, I have pretty average calves - not tiny, but I rarely have trouble with any boots not fitting over them - and I never need a wide shaft ... but these come close to being too tight (just barely enough space to cram jeans in with no room left over), so if your calves are bigger, you may not like these. 4. Most important to know: the sizing. I wear an 8 in almost every flat or heel, an 8-8.5 in most boots (sometimes need extra sock room) and 8.5-9 in running shoes. The 8 in Fryes leaves at least an inch between my big toe and the end of the shoe (even with moderately thick socks). I have a 7.5 in these and it's still quite roomy in the toe box - I could go smaller if I had narrow feet and skinny calves, but if I went down more with my foot shape the midfoot would be super tight. I'm sticking with the 7.5 and there will be nice room for socks and toe wiggling... and maybe insoles because arch support in Fryes isn't great (but then again my extreme over pronation makes me picky). (They might add some of this extra toe room intentionally - I think I'm used to less since modern shoes, especially nice women's shoes, tend to love the narrow toe box, which is what we're all used to, but in the end it's better for your feet if your toes can spread naturally and aren't crammed up against anything.) Now for the really GOOD aspects: 1. Like all the Frye boots I've seen, these have beautiful leather. It looks like you could never wear it out. I have the Fawn color, and I love it. I didn't want a high polish appearance; I wanted a soft looking (but not super distressed) brown, medium dark, and that's exactly what I got. It's not a very warm brown - there's an underlying dark greyish hue - but I like that because the color is really neutral while still being attractive on its own. Perfect and will match about anything. 2. The simple silhouette is really nice (if you, like me, are not a huge fan of cowboyish or overly rugged-and chunky silhouettes). 3. Short girls like me, take note: I'm not quite-5'4" and not leggy (~30 inch inseam), and there are many beautiful knee high Frye ... styles that I can't wear at all because the shaft comes all the way to the middle of my knee. However these hit just where they should! Yay! (Also good for short girls who want knee high Fryes - the Shirley Riding ... [not the over knee Shirley, but the knee high one with two buckles] which has a top that is made so that it can be cuffed down to a reasonable height. (If you're tall/leggy, know that the Melissa boots will probably not come all the way up to right below your knee.) [...]

Beautiful boots, but didn''t work for meI was so sad when I tried to put these boots on. They are absolutely beautiful, but did not fit. I am 5'7" and I guess I have longer than normal legs. The widest part of my calf hit the top of these boots (where they get a bit narrower). I expected them to come to just below my knee and they were a good few inches shorter than that. I am sending them back because they were just so tight in the calf. People say that they stretch, but for the price I wanted a perfect fit. There was no way I was going to be able to get a pair of jeans in there. I gave them three stars anyway because if my legs had been shorter I would have kept them and loved them.

Worth the Splurge!I have been eyeing these boots for 2 years and finally took the leap. Love love love! I am 5'6'' and they come below the knee. The quality is the best- typical Frye. The leather is like butter. The fitter is flattering as well- the narrow rounded toe doesn't make my feet look bulky. Wish I had bought them sooner since I know they will last a long time! They run true to size.

Perfect riding ... Wish I Could Give 100 Stars!! These boots are so perfect that I now own 2 pair. The height is just right (I'm 5'7") and the ... hits just at the bottom of my knee. The leather? Soft, exceptional - really just lovely. I have had total strangers stop me on the street to comment about the boots. I couldn't be more pleased.

The perfect flat ... I'm addicted to these boots - I can't help it. I wanted a beautiful, versatile flat ... actually hit my knee and I've found them. I love these boots so much that I bought 2 pair - 1 in dark brown + 1 in sand. Both are to die for. The fit is perfect + yes the bottom is slippery for like 5 seconds but once you wear them outside, they're fine. I've worn them with jeans, skirts, leggings and without fail, total strangers compliment me on these exceptional boots.

Beautiful Boots!!These were even better than I had imagined they would be. The do run a little tall for me. I'm about 5'4" and they hit me at the knee. They look amazing on. Very well made. I will wear these boots ALOT!!! Now I need to get some dresses to wear with them so I can really show them off!!

Dorado riding ... Great looking ... well made(one of the few Frye boots made in Spain instead of Brazil or other countries). This ... me a bit too tall in the shaft. I am 5'4" and the ... came up a little over the knee which I could have lived with had the calf not been so wide(I have thin calves).I was sorry to have to return them as they were exactly what I had been looking for.

Great BootsI absolutely love these boots! I have been searching for a pair of riding boots for almost a year, and I kept returning back to these. I've never spent so much money on a pair of boots, but the craftmanship and look made them worth every penny. I'm 6'1, and all legs, so finding a ... doesn't stop mid calf is difficult. They are a little loose around the calf which leaves enough room for jeans. These are almost knee high (an inch or two short), which is the best I've found. The only thing I wasn't expecting was that they are a little "floppier" than they look in the picture. It isn't a deal breaker, the leather is just much softer than I thought it would be.

GorgeousThis ... absolutely gorgeous. It didn't work for me because it came up too high (started to cover my knee) and I had to return them. I still miss looking at them. They are extremely well made and comfortable.

Shaft height incorrectThese boots are absolutely amazing. I am 5'1 and the shaft is reficulously tall...over the knee. The description says 15" shaft, I measured them to the highest point (excluding heel) and they measure in at 17" shaft height. Sadly, I either have to have them tailored ;'( or find another pair which I can't seem to find. Good luck!

Gorgeous boots, but not for short peopleThese Frye boots, as Fryes usually are, were beautifully constructed and the leather was so soft. However, I'm 5'2 and the top of the ... hit me in the middle of the knee and they're not supposed to be "over the knee boots." I wish I could have kept them, but since they hit my knee, it made the leather buckle down towards my ankle. Just an odd fit overall, which was so disappointing! Beware if you're short... you may need to find another ... sadly.

this is my first frye purchase. i had been eyeing these boots for a while and have heard so many good things about frye quality. they look wonderful in person. they do run narrow, so while they are true to size, if you have wide feet, go a half size up. i bought true to size(it was the only size avail. at the time...=) and am stretching them to make them more comfortable. they are also tall boots. i am 5'3 and the boots come slightly up my knee(not quite below the knee ... also, like other reviewers, the back of the heel is loose. i put in back of the heel inserts(you can get this at any drugstore) to prevent slipping/blisters and this solves the problem. so all in all, while its a lovely ... does require some work to get it to the comfort level that i wanted.

Great shoe... but not for meSo this was my first pair of fryes, and believe me, i was stoked. Unfortunately for me, I could not even delude myself into keeping these shoes. I bought the charcoal and the leather is of a great quality (actually a bit thinner than I had imagined... but very soft), and the charcoal wasn't too grey at all[...]-- it was a dull black basically. So if the fit wasn't just completely wrong on me, they would've been great. I ordered these in a size 7 and I'm 5' 3 3/4" and ~120 lbs (I'd say I'm of pretty standard proportions-- not super skiny calves or anything, and not super large ones) and the ... shaft went to the middle of my knee cap, and it looked really awkward. Even though there are buckles on the shaft, it seemed like that wouldn't exactly help me fix how wide the shoe is. It wasn't just at the opening either, it was throughout the entire shaft. So I'll be sending these back, perhaps for an exchange for another shoe, perhaps for refund.

My Favorite FryesI bought these boots at the end of last winter, and they are one of my all time favorite pairs of boots. They work out of skinny jeans or under bootcut, and are extremely comfortable. I didn't find them stiff at all. The maple leather is gorgeous. I am a pretty true 8, but can go down to a 7.5 in Fryes. I did buy the 8 in these, but 7.5 probably would have worked fine too. HIghly recommend these boots.

Great mid calf bootsI purchased these boots because I wanted something between 'high boots' and cowgirl boots, and they are perfect. I agree with another review that the ... fits loosely in the ankle/leg, but I don't think this is unusual for shorter/mid calf ... styles. I have thin ankles and calves, and I like the roominess for comfort and a more casual style. I purchased the dark brown, which has a slightly worn in feel out of the box - nice! Wear these with skinny jeans, ... cut jeans, and casual dresses and skirts. They are very versatile. This is my third pair of Fryes, and I find all Fryes wear beautifully, fit consistently, shape to your foot over time (if they feel a little tight at any one spot upon initially trying on, wear them for 30 min in your house on smooth surfaces, and they will loosen up quickly), and score high points for timeless style. I am a size 8.5-9 med width, and Frye boots in a 9 are perfect. The Heath ... fits more like a cowgirl ... slight amount of slip in the heel. Bottom line, if you want a versatile ... less aggressive than an engineer, harness, or cowgirl style and lower than a typical full calf style, this is your ... They are great, and worth the price!

great bootsi have been wanting these boots for a year now. i ordered them once and i felt a lil pressure on the top of my one foot. so i thought maybe something was wrong w/ that pair. i returned them and then couldn't get them out of my mind so ordered another pair a couple weeks later. again, same thing - it was almost like the material in the front of the ... wasn't high enough for my foot to feel comfy. so i returned again - couldn't see spending that much money on them and they didn't fit perfectly. so now it's another year and winter is coming so i thought i'd give it one more try and THEY FIT.... PERFECTLY. i am thrilled. they are so comfy, perfect heel height, great color, soft on the part that hits your shin and durable at your feet. i hope they last me forever!

Worth the money!Frye boots are one of the best made boots ever. I have had many pairs of Frye boots and loved every pair. Compared to the Frye Campus ... style runs a little narrow in the toe box. The leather will give and break in with wear. I would recommend sizing up if your foot is wide.

Instant comfortThese boots are absolute comfort from the first step you take with them. They are my sneakers in ... shape. Leather is very soft, great color and very good craftsmanship. They fit true to size. I own about I don't know how many boots from various companies and I love them all, but the Frye Heath tops them all. They are the best pair I have now. My feet never get tired and I recommend them to everyone who likes boots. Look no further, because if you buy these you are all set. Congrats to Frye.

Fabulous! Go for it!I was very anxious about purchasing these boots at this price. BUT, I am totally impressed. Frye boots are fabulous! The color is fantastic, the leather is soft and the style is great. I wore them ALL day yesterday and they felt great. I did order a half size smaller than normal and that proved to be very wise. Save your $$$ and buy these boots. You will be so pleased.

very niceThese boots are soft leather so they worked really well for me because I have one foot that has a width problem. The soft leather stretched just right for the wide foot to be comfy. The description says tall ... but they are not really tall so make sure you know that these are only about 11 inches high. Surprised they were made in Mexico, but I am still glad I bought them cause they are cute and comfortable.

These are great boots. Wonderful quality. I can imagine these boots being part of your wardrobe for a long time. They just weren't what I was looking for. I didn't like the shorter height - not making it to the knee and found them too slouchy for my liking. My calves are about 14 inches and i ordered a 9 - my usual ... size. They were just right for boots. A little roomy and pretty comfortable. The only thing that bothered me was the seaming on the inside around my ankle. It was a little rough. I have very narrow heals so the up and down movement was bothersome. This could probably be fixed with an insole. My zipper went up and down smoothly and was good looking.

Love Love Love these bootsI've never owned tall boots in my life. I have athletic calves and they've never been able to fit into zippered, tall boots. There were some misgivings as to ordering these boots, but since Piperlime is so good about returns, I decided to order these---after a heavy research period and extensive pondering! I am ECSTATIC over these boots. They fit perfectly (I ordered my regular 8.5 size), I can wear them with thicker socks if needed, plus I can tuck jeans inside them. The leather is positively gorgeous, not to mention the finish. I highly recommend these boots, specially to those girls who have thicker calves who want a stylish look. I got these for an upcoming trip to NYC, fully expecting heavy walking and cold weather. They already feel comfortable, and am sure won't disappoint!

Liked the color, didn''t like the fitI really loved the color of this ... but that was about it. While it did fit true to size, I didn't like the 'bagginess' of the upper part that goes on your calf - it was too baggy. I noticed in other reviews that people said this was a great ... wear with jeans. I agree. If the upper part is hidden, the ... looks good. I wanted to wear the boots with skirts also and I don't think it would look good because it doesn't 'fit' to your leg. I returned and exchanged these boots for the Frye Harness boots.

Too shortThe boots are extremely well made and the leather is beautiful. I ordered these boots hoping for a pair that would look cute with skirts and skinny jeans. They were way too short in the shaft. I ended up ordering the campus boots instead.

Over the Moon!I have been eyeing these boots for over a year and finally gave in and purchased them. I own a similar style Frye ... absolutely love the fit and quality of those, that is why I had no hesitation about purchasing these online. In true Frye fashion, these did not disappoint. I am 6'0 tall and wear a size 10-11. I ordered these in an 11. They fit perfectly and come just below my knee with the cuff up as my legs are long. The shaft fits my calves snugly (my calves are a little larger than average but I do not have trouble with most boots fitting) with room for tights or skinny jeans. The leather is deliciously soft, and the slate color is such that it goes with black or brown seamlessly. They are EXTREMELY hard to put on the first couple of times, but I put a plastic bag on my feet and the boots slid on like buttah! I know, I know, I felt silly with bags on my feet too, but they get easier to put on after a couple of times. I wore them for hours the first time and had no discomfort whatsoever. If you are considering these I say GO FOR IT! They are a classic style and will last a lifetime if well cared for.

Classic! These boots are classic- great height (not quite over the knee on me- I've got really long calves) but still tall enough to look chic. They're just as pictured in terms of color- but look a little more weathered. I can't tell if that's the shipping wax or how they'll always look. I expect they'll even out, tone wise, as I wear them in. Overall, this is a great pair of boots that will go great with a number of outfits and colors- I can't wait for fall so I can wear them out!

best boots ever!I have many Frye boots which as many of you who have already purchased them know, some styles take some time to break them in, not these boots. They are soft and comfortable, however, if your legs are a bit wide or you have a wide foot, these boots may not be for you. I'm 5'3 and have skinny legs. I absolutely love them and they look great. I love the slate color too. The boots are covered with a powder to enhance the distressed look. I have no problems putting them on. The heel is absolute devine - great support.

Best ... Ever My friend has these in the dark brown, so I got them in the gray since I had to have them. They are the perfect height - just to the knee, not over the knee. I'm 5'7, but my friend is about 5'5 and she loves the height. The cut in the back I think makes these great for any height. I did get them on sale, so I got a steal, but I'd pay full price. Great ... I've been wearing them none stop this winter.

Gorgeous!I am thrilled with these boots! The color is amazing...sort of a greyish taupe and goes with everything. The leather is buttery soft and slouches just a bit. I am 5'7" and wear somewhere between a 10-1/2 and 11 shoe so I purchased the 11. The first couple of times pulling these on were tough, but once on, the fit was great. The shaft is not too loose, but works great with skinny jeans, tights, and leggings. Uncuffed, the top of these come to just under my knee. The heel hight is great. Overall I am thrilled with my purchase.

I own several pair of frye boots, I love these as much as my others. The leather is high quality, and the overall fit is great. I have had several compliments on them already!

Beautiful, high quality bootsThese boots made my outfit look better. No joke. I was wearing black leggings, a flowy shirt, and a blazer, and the outfit was cute but off. When I tried these on, the effect was immediate. WOW. Everything just seemed to come together, just because of these boots. Maybe it's the leather, which is buttery, flexible, and gorgeously colored. Or the length of the ... itself. I am 5'4" with shorter legs, and the top reaches right up above my knees. The boots look cute folded down for a more casual look, but folded up, they really make the legs look longer and slimmer. The color is also beautiful. The slate is a muted grey with darker spots of brown. The result is that it goes with virtually any outfit that has earthy tones. Like the previous reviewer, my right ... slips in fine, but the left ... took some work to get on. Not sure why. I've been wearing them for about a few weeks now, and the left ... easier to put on, though. Overall, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I was skeptical about the quality level of Frye, but now I am a convert! I will most definitely treat myself to another pair when I save up enough. :)

Love, love, love!Got these beauties from Piperlime just this afternoon and am in love! I ordered the "Slate" color, which is definitely darker than this website shows--it's more of a nicely distressed mushroom (brownish grey) color and very, very chic! The color will go with everything! I normally wear an 8, but because I have wider feet, ordered an 8.5 in these and they fit perfectly and are very comfortable. I had no trouble getting them on/off. I am 5'7" and these boots, uncuffed, hit me right below my knee (definitely not OVER the knee, but that's okay). These go great over top of skinny jeans and I can't wait to take them to Italy on my honeymoon--they'll keep me looking cute, while still being comfy enough for lots of walking! Take advantage of the awesome sale, if you can--Frye's are worth the price for the quality! :-)

Fab BootsThey run true to size, and are really comfy. They look amazing, come right under the knee and the Slate is a great universal color. Def worth the money!!!

love love love these bootsI just received these boots and i am in love with them! The leather is beautiful, and the style is just perfect. this is my fourth pair of frye boots and i think they are my favorite! the leather is a little stiff at first but as with most frye boots i think they will soften up after a few wears

Love Frye Boots...But Not TheseI love Frye boots, but these left something to be desired. The fit was great; however, they are much darker and more distressed than pictured. I was also hoping for a ... came to just above (or at least to the top of) my knee - not the middle. I decided to return these.

20 years of lust....satisfiedI have wanted these Frye ... 20 years. My mother had a pair of Frye high heel ... 70s when I was growing up (she still has them and they are in great condition) but she would never let me wear them. After going to college I would see similar pairs to these Campus' in vintage or consignment stores - but NEVER in my size, nothing even close. I would go to the high end leather goods shop and drool over the full price ones, trying them on semester after semester. In the ten years since leaving school and starting a career I have often put Fryes on my christmas list, but no luck. Finally, I bit the bullet and I couldn't be happier. These are the perfect casual ... me - I can wear them in the field camping or out shopping or on a date. They feel amazing (I wear a 9 - 9.5 generally in heels, I ordered a 9 in these, there is a little extra room at the toe indicating I might have been able to do an 8.5 but I think then they probably would have been too narrow across the knuckles.) I'm breaking them in but they already feel awesome. I can't wait for the weather to get a little cooler, they will be my go tos all fall and winter.

About the Sizing. . .This is for any of you out there wondering about which size to get. Warning: sizes sell out fast so you may want to order 2 and send one back! After trying many pairs on, here it is: If you are between half sizes the Frye website actually tells you to order a size down. Instead, I chose to follow the reviews I read all over that said to order a size up on this style. I usually wear a size 8.5 & sometimes a 9 in running shoes, so I ordered a 9. It would have worked IF I wanted to wear thick socks (like hiking socks), however the calf was a lot larger too (my calf size is 12.5 inches) and they didn't look right (the two different buckles can be adjusted to smaller/larger but on the smallest hole they look really wrinkled/weird). The actual measurement difference between sizes is only a few centimeters but it is amazing how much of a difference it makes. Luckily, there were still 8.5's left and those were perfect for me. I like the feel of a knee high sock with them and most of those type of socks are pretty thin. As far as comfort with a thin sock they are perfectly comfortable right from the start. Also, the leather in the foot area will stretch slightly. The Frye site also says that heel slippage is normal and will stop after awhile. It hasn't bothered me. I have a flat foot so they are so easy to put on but someone with a high arch might have a harder time. As far as the calf circumference- they could be even a little smaller for me- but they look fine with skinny jeans and okay with skirts. With a small calf, they don't really slouch unless you push them down. The quality is beautiful (although I had to send back one flawed pair in the process). They sole can be resoled in the future so I know I will have them for many years to come. I wish Piperlime had the Frye Leather Conditioners. I get compliments every time I wear them. And that is the end of the longest review ever.

buy these bootsMy husband bought me these boots 6 years ago in the slate. They are probably my favorite pair of boots and I have many, many pairs of boots. They look great with everything!! I usually wear a 7.5 but ordered in an 8 (I tried them on locally in black) they were a little hard to get on the first time, even had to unbuckle at the ankle. They took no time to break in and talk about durable, the quality is excellent. I stand on my feet all day as a hairstylist and they are super comfy. I have worn these boots doing the hands on renovation of my salon, working all day, and even had a spray paint can leak silver paint all over them, thought they were ruined. I cleaned them off with paint thinner, which made them stiff and white and chalky, but a little saddle soap and they looked even better than new and softer. I constantly get compliments on them, the more distressed they get the better they look.

MUST HAVE BOOTS!I own these boots in slate, and I wear them ALL the time! They go with everything and look so stylish and beautiful. There was a brief breaking in period with these, but now they fit like a dream and are sooo comfortable. I love FRYE, and these boots live up to the quality and style that you would expect from Frye. I get compliments galore on these boots! I don't think I could live without them.

Wonderful shoesI was so nervous when I tried on this pair of boots. Almost all previous reviews have told me that how hard it is to pull it on. So I carefully sat down and set aside 5 mins to pull it on. But wow! You just can't image how easy it is to pull it on, much easier than UGGs, than boots with side zip, easier than any other boots I've ever tried. The amazing part is that the shoes won't slip once it is on. I ordered size 6, my normal shoe size, and it is perfect fit. The leather is so soft and it can't support it itself if you let it stand on its own. But when it is on you, it won't slouch around your ankle like other boots. If you like slouch style, you might just play with it since leather is buttery like material. I just don't wanna mess with it and like the way it is now. The color I got is dark brown, it is similar as the picture in website, just a little darker. It is an absolutely pair of low key but high quality boots. Now I am eyeing on other FRYE boots, just can't be satisfied with the fact that I am only owning one pair of boots from FRYE!

The Perfect ... After searching high and low, I have found the PERFECT ... picture doesn't do them justice... They look great with jeans, skirts, and dresses and I've received soooo many compliments. They were a little difficult to put on at first but after a couple of days they slide right on so don't let that discourage you - because once they're on, it's a little slice of heaven on your feet... This is one purchase I'll never regret...

So comfortable!I love these boots so much. They don't need any breaking in - I wore them all over downtown Denver in the snow and they were incredibly comfortable! They also look cute - a little wide in the leg, but I tucked in my jeans and they were perfect. These were my first Frye boots, and I will definitely be buying Frye again the next time I need boots!

yummmooooSo these boots were so beautiful when I saw them online, I just had to have them!!!! so I ordered them and then when they came in the mail they were scuffed and someone had deff worn them.....so I called and spoke with a very nice woman who fixed the problem really fast and was very helpfull. My new boots came in the mail and they were fab!!! I sized up. I wear a 8 so I got a 8 1/2. I was once told at a ... store that you should always have a little bit of lift in a ... all in things happen and I got my boots and am happy :)

gorgeous boots!I've been eyeing these boots for some time, and finally decided to take the splurge. Am I ever glad I did! I normally wear a 7 1/2 but based upon other reviews and having very high arches and being afraid I might not be able to get my feet into a 7 1/2, I chose to go w/ the 8s. They do slip a little on my heel if I'm not wearing thick enough socks, but other than that the fit is great. No issues whatsoever getting them on or off, and they were incredibly comfortable right out of the box! I have very sensitive feet, so this is saying something. I also tend to have larger calves and have had difficulty with other tall boots, but I'm able to wear these with ... socks and skinny jeans and have room to spare. The leather is gorgeously soft; I'm giving them 4 stars b/c I thought they were made in the US but instead are made in China.

Great Boots!!I have been searching for the perfect boots and I have finally found them!! I love these boots!! I just got them and they are pretty comfortable, but I think, after reading other reviews, that they will continue to get more comfy as they get broken in. They do feel like they may run a half size too small. They just feel a little snug in the heel. I think it might be that they feel "short" because the heel is more narrow than some other boots I had tried on. I do recommend these boots!

These boots are beautiful BUT...These boots are absolutely beautiful. After a year of lusting after them, I finally received them in the mail yesterday. The leather already has a worn in look and feel to it, and I fell immediately fell in love with them........ until I tried to put them on my feet. This is my second pair of Frye's. I also own the Paige Tall Riding in a size 8, which was a perfect fit for me from day one. After reading other customer reviews, I ordered the Veronica Slouch in an 8.5. When I tried to put them on, I had a very difficult time shoving my heel into the ... Once I got them on, I could feel my toes beginning to fall asleep. The problem with these boots isn't in the length, it's in the tightness of the ... around the bones in the top of the foot (this is also what causes difficulty in putting them on). The strap is adjustable, but it's purely decorative. I wore them around the house for a couple of hours last night hoping the leather would stretch a little bit. I haven't decided yet whether I will return them or keep them and hope they will stretch out with wear. I really wanted to love these boots, but they may have to go back.
