Love These Kicks
This is my first time purchasing Frye brand boots, and I'm quite pleased. The style is incredible, they are a comfortable, supportive ... really love the color of the brown ... only thing I found that might deter some people is the fact that getting them on if you have a high arch is a bit of a workout. (i.e. the first time I put them on my neighbor had to pull on the shaft while I used all of my weight to jam my foot in). It was comical, but once my foot slipped into the squishy Frye cacoon, I was sold.

Versatile ...
Great ... Very comfortable and cute with all my jeans. I usually wear 8.5 in other high end lines, but take a 7.5 in Frye.

I wanted a nice pair of boots to wear with cute clothes, but would handle any weather. These are awesome! I love them. I typically wear a 7, so that's what I got. They fit perfect. It took a few times of wearing to get them broken in, but they never caused serious pain. love love love. would recommend them to anyone. I'm short so the height on these doesn't make me look even shorter. and the heel is just enough! I can't wait to get my next pair of Frye's!

If I'm going to spend as much money on footwear as I do on groceries for two weeks, I want to make sure the shoes are near perfect or better. I was nervous about buying shoes online when I've never tried them on, so I went to the nearest store that sold Frye boots and tried on a similar pair. I have to say, it was the most helpful thing I did. Normally I wear about a 7.5 and occasionally an 8. I decided to get an 8 from Piperlime since they seemed to run small in the store. The toe box is much shorter than other styles of Frye boots (which was actually what I was looking for) and the shaft hits an inch or so below mid calf. When I made the commitment and bought the boots, I was stupidly excited to see them at my door. But when I put them on, I found them to be a bit looser in the instep than I would have liked. Fearing I made a mistake, I called a dealer for advice. Many of the reviews on here say they take time to 'break in' and 'stretch out,' which is really code for "I got huge blisters but I love them now!" Frye's are supposed to be a loose fitting ... dealer's advice was to put in a pair of insoles. Best. Advice. Ever. They fit perfectly now. And after wearing them for two weeks, I haven't yet had a blister and don't think I'll see one in the future. Beautiful deep brown color, incredible quality ... trustworthy name, and a great style. Buy these boots!

Frye Engineers are, without question, the finest boots I've ever owned. I read a lot of recommendations that said to go up a 1/2 size, but unless you need ultra thick socks, I wouldn't. These boots are tough, sturdy, look cooler the more worn in they become, and adjust well when the straps are tightened. The first day of wear was comfortable, but admittedly I blistered like mad after extended wear. But now they're pretty much bedroom slipper comfortable. I took the advice of the manufacturer and treated the ... seams with mink oil, and they've retained their shape and color and gained some water resistance. They can be ornery to get on the first few times, but I compare the fit to a slim cowboy ... shaft. I'd steer clear of light colored socks until the insides are well worn, or you'll be looking at some stained heels and toes. But if you like firm footing and a high arch, you have found your Valhalla.

WOW!!! Impressed
I've never bought from Piperlime online before and for the first time I bought this ... wasn't sure if the heel would make my foot feel awkard because it looks so high but this ... really comfortable and goes great with my jeans.

I wanted a pair of really sturdy ... boots for a while. I tried a few different pairs of fryes before settling on these. I'm short, so they don't overwhelm my legs or come up too high like taller styles do. They're a really flattering, versatile height. I think I'll be able to wear them through spring and fall as well as winter. The ... stiff initially and the first couple times wearing the is painful but bearable. Make sure you have thick socks. My only complaint is the heel. I wish it were just a little less chunky.

Great quality, very hip
I really like these. Very sturdy, high quality and look well made and expensive. They're heavy and do cause blisters at least at the first wearings, and require very thick socks. Didn't have much trouble getting them on or off, but I think they're a bit large -- I'm always a 6, but these seem a bit loose.

Classic
I get compliments on these all the time...from women and men. They're a nice thick ... very comfortable. I've wanted a pair for years and am so glad I finallly got them. My only complaint is that they're too wide, especially around the heel.

just got them
The boots are really stiff but I'm sure they will soften with wear. The sole is pretty firm and the boots slightly heavy. I'm finding they fit pretty true to size. Unless worn with thick socks, they fit comfortably and even loose with tights. I always have trouble with boots fitting my calves, and these are great! They are cut short and my legs have lots of room. Now just break them in and get used to the heel.
