It's the right choice: the size fits perfectly & the width is just right. Just order it, you won't be disappointed in ... pair is absolutely stylish whatever you are wearing. worth the splurge This is my 3rd pair of Fryes (I have the Carson riding ... 8" Engineers). The workmanship is consistently good, the ... feels and smells great, and the fit is superb. I usually wear 7.5, sometimes 8. My Carson ... 7.5, and ... have stretched out considerably, to the point where i need to wear thicker socks. I ordered the Melissa Button ... 7. ... were tight around the toes for the first few days, but ... have started to loosen up a bit. I know they're only going to get better. Love these ...
No substitute. I have bought and returned so many pairs of ... becoming an issue. I found one perfect pair last year, but I wore them so much that ... cannot make it through another season. I had always loved these ... their appearance but hadn't wanted to spend all that money on them. So I sucked it up and ordered them finally--after going through about 6 pairs. I WILL NEVER LOOK BACK! I love them so much! I have a larger calf so I got the extended calf size and ... fit perfectly! ... stretch a little if ... kind of tight when you get them. I consider these ... timeless so ... well worth the money. I have another pair of Fryes that are more cowboy bootish and have never had issues with them so I do not expect any issues with this pair. LOVE!!! I have been wanting these ... over a year now and I finally took the plunge! I read every single review available on Piperlime and other websites before I purchased these ... because ... do cost a lot of money. However, I believe that quality shoes are worth the investment and I hope this pair of Frye's is no exception to the rule. I am 5"8 and wear a size 10 in all shoes so naturally I ordered a size 10-they fit like a glove. My legs are average and ... fit perfectly around my calves and there is still room to wear with slim to skinny pants. The arch is nice but might feel like there's a bump under your foot if you don't have a high arch. ... slick on the bottom, but just need to be scuffed up on some gravel. I ordered them in cognac and the color is beautiful and ... smell just like the ... goods sold from the vendors in Italy. I love them and recommend to anyone who wants a quality ...
Totallly worth every penny I bought the chocolate disstressed ones a few months ago and ... my first pair of fryes. At first it was really hard to get over the price tage but these ... worth every penny. At first ... hard to get on, but ... stretch and will soon be no problem at all. ... run true to size so don't order down. I wear anywhere from a 7-8 depending on the shoe and the 8 is perfect. Everytime I wear them I get compliments and ... really comfortable! ... great addition to my fall/winter wardrobe because ... great when it is raining all the time. I would definatly recomend.

I have a bunion on my left foot, which makes it painful to wear just about anything besides uggs or flip flops..So naturally these were a little snug on that foot. I simply took these to my cobbler and ... stretched perfectly to conform my feet. These are perfect, you wont be sorry!

Just lovely, but Fryes run huge. (Long review because I think such a high price warrants knowing details of what you''re buying!) I wish I could give these a 4.5 - the appearance is nearly perfect, but all ... have fit/sizing quirks that sort of get on my nerves. If ... were cheaper, this would be excusable, but for the price, those quirks warrant a 4. If you're reading the reviews, you probably want to know about those negative or unexpected aspects before spending over $300, so I'll mention those first (but that doesn't mean that the positive doesn't outweigh the negative or that I would change much about these ... I'm still keeping them, and it was still worth it [...]. NOT SO-GOOD: 1. The soles seem relatively durable (some ... have thinner soles than I like), which is nice, but lots of Fryes have pretty smooth bottoms, so be careful with them on slippery surfaces when they're new - the traction will be questionable until you scuff up the soles yourself a bit. 2. Like with all ... I've tried on, it was tough to get my foot to fit through the ankle of the ... but the pull tabs help a ton. (Getting them off is even harder, but it's worth it. I think that aspect of the fit prevents you from interrupting this really smooth ... silhouette with zippers or gores while making for a good, stable fit once ... 3. Along the same lines, I have pretty average calves - not tiny, but I rarely have trouble with any ... not fitting over them - and I never need a wide shaft ... but these come close to being too tight (just barely enough space to cram jeans in with no room left over), so if your calves are bigger, you may not like these. 4. Most important to know: the sizing. I wear an 8 in almost every flat or heel, an 8-8.5 in most ... (sometimes need extra sock room) and 8.5-9 in running shoes. The 8 in Fryes leaves at least an inch between my big toe and the end of the shoe (even with moderately thick socks). I have a 7.5 in these and it's still quite roomy in the toe box - I could go smaller if I had narrow feet and skinny calves, but if I went down more with my foot shape the midfoot would be super tight. I'm sticking with the 7.5 and there will be nice room for socks and toe wiggling... and maybe insoles because arch support in Fryes isn't great (but then again my extreme over pronation makes me picky). ... might add some of this extra toe room intentionally - I think I'm used to less since modern shoes, especially nice women's shoes, tend to love the narrow toe box, which is what we're all used to, but in the end it's better for your feet if your toes can spread naturally and aren't crammed up against anything.) Now for the really GOOD aspects: 1. Like all the ... I've seen, these have beautiful ... looks like you could never wear it out. I have the Fawn color, and I love it. I didn't want a high polish appearance; I wanted a soft looking (but not super distressed) brown, medium dark, and that's exactly what I got. It's not a very warm brown - there's an underlying dark greyish hue - but I like that because the color is really neutral while still being attractive on its own. Perfect and will match about anything. 2. The simple silhouette is really nice (if you, like me, are not a huge fan of cowboyish or overly rugged-and chunky silhouettes). 3. Short girls like me, take note: I'm not quite-5'4" and not leggy (~30 inch inseam), and there are many beautiful knee high ... styles that I can't wear at all because the shaft comes all the way to the middle of my knee. However these hit just where ... should! Yay! (Also good for short girls who want knee high Fryes - the Shirley Riding ... [not the over knee Shirley, but the knee high one with two buckles] which has a top that is made so that it can be cuffed down to a reasonable height. (If you're tall/leggy, know that the Melissa ... probably not come all the way up to right below your knee.) [...]

I'm 5'7" w/ long legs and I've had trouble finding knee high ... actually go up to ... knees. ... beautiful, sexy ... not too obvious, and can easily be dressed up or down. I found ... fit a little bigger than other frye's I own, ... would suggest going down half a size. Other than that ... perfect.
Gorgeous ... not for short people ... Fryes usually are, were beautifully constructed and the ... so soft. However, I'm 5'2 and the top of the ... hit me in the middle of the knee and they're not supposed to be "over the knee ... wish I could ... kept ... since ... hit ... knee, it made the ... buckle down towards ... ankle. Just an odd fit overall, which was so disappointing! Beware if you're short... you may need to find another ... sadly.
Are ... flip flops or ... ... so cute, the brown ... exactly what I was looking for, the big problem was the heel, it just flopped around, major heel slip. Wearing flip flops is fine for flip flops, ... not for ... Instead of the back of the ... going in a bit at the heel area to keep ... flopping, ... came straight down from the shaft giving nothing to keep the foot in place. Also, I am 5'10 and slim, ... big boned, meaning ... calves are not fat, ... bigger then the average women's, and even with straight leg jeans tucked in ... were huge, and flopping around. So sad, ... adorable ... if ... could adjust the fit I would've bought one in every color.
Veronica Slouch Boots These boots are everything I expected. I absolutely love ... boots and these are no exception. Based on the other reviews I was concerned that they would run small, however, I took a chance and ordered my standard size 8.5 and they fit perfectly. They are so cute and comfortable. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them.
About the Sizing. . . This is for any of you out there wondering about which size to get. Warning: sizes sell out fast so you may want to order 2 and send one back! After trying many pairs on, here it is: If you are between half sizes the Frye website actually tells you to order a size down. Instead, I chose to follow the reviews I read all over that said to order a size up on this style. I usually wear a size 8.5 & sometimes a 9 in running shoes, so I ordered a 9. It would have worked IF I wanted to wear thick socks (like hiking socks), however the calf was a lot larger too (my calf size is 12.5 inches) and they didn't look right (the two different buckles can be adjusted to smaller/larger but on the smallest hole they look really wrinkled/weird). The actual measurement difference between sizes is only a few centimeters but it is amazing how much of a difference it makes. Luckily, there were still 8.5's left and those were perfect for me. I like the feel of a knee high sock with them and most of those type of socks are pretty thin. As far as comfort with a thin sock they are perfectly comfortable right from the start. Also, the ... foot area will stretch slightly. The Frye site also says that heel slippage is normal and will stop after awhile. It hasn't bothered me. I have a flat foot so they are so easy to put on but someone with a high arch might have a harder time. As far as the calf circumference- they could be even a little smaller for me- but they look fine with skinny jeans and okay with skirts. With a small calf, they don't really slouch unless you push them down. The quality is beautiful (although I had to send back one flawed pair in the process). They sole can be resoled in the future so I know I will have them for many years to come. I wish Piperlime had the Frye ... Conditioners. I get compliments every time I wear them. And that is the end of the longest review ever.
Veronica Slouch I love these boots! I had to order the wide calf, but they are fantastic. They go with everything! It did take about a week to break the heel in, (got blisters on the back of my heel/achilles area) but once they broke in they're perfect! I wish they had a little more traction, the soles look like they'd be less slippery, but living in an area with snowy winters, these boots slip more than I'd like. Overall, a great ...
buy these boots My husband bought me these boots 6 years ago in the slate. They are probably my favorite pair of boots and I have many, many pairs of boots. They look great with everything!! I usually wear a 7.5 but ordered in an 8 (I tried them on locally in black) they were a little hard to get on the first time, even had to unbuckle at the ankle. They took no time to break in and talk about durable, the quality is excellent. I stand on my feet all day as a hairstylist and they are super comfy. I have worn these boots doing the hands on renovation of my salon, working all day, and even had a spray paint can leak silver paint all over them, thought they were ruined. I cleaned them off with paint thinner, which made them stiff and white and chalky, but a little saddle soap and they looked even better than new and softer. I constantly get compliments on them, the more distressed they get the better they look.

The color, dark brown, is lovely and the ... very nice. They fit perfect on my legs, which are athletic, with room to spare. These are my first pair of Fryes, but probably not my last.
MUST HAVE BOOTS! I own these boots in slate, and I wear them ALL the time! They go with everything and look so stylish and beautiful. There was a brief breaking in period with these, but now they fit like a dream and are sooo comfortable. Wonderful shoes I was so nervous when I tried on this pair of boots. Almost all previous reviews have told me that how hard it is to pull it on. So I carefully sat down and set aside 5 mins to pull it on. But wow! You just can't image how easy it is to pull it on, much easier than UGGs, than boots with side zip, easier than any other boots I've ever tried. The amazing part is that the shoes won't slip once it is on. I ordered size 6, my normal shoe size, and it is perfect fit. The ... so soft and it can't support it itself if you let it stand on its own. But when it is on you, it won't slouch around your ankle like other boots. If you like slouch style, you might just play with it since ... buttery like material. I just don't wanna mess with it and like the way it is now. The color I got is dark brown, it is similar as the picture in website, just a little darker. It is an absolutely pair of low key but high quality boots. Now I am eyeing on other ... boots, just can't be satisfied with the fact that I am only owning one pair of boots from ...
So comfortable! I love these boots so much. They don't need any breaking in - I wore them all over downtown Denver in the snow and they were incredibly comfortable! They also look cute - a little wide in the leg, but I tucked in my jeans and they were perfect. These were my first ... boots, and I will definitely be buying ... again the next time I need boots!

Great Boots!! I have been searching for the perfect boots and I have finally found them!! I love these boots!! I just got them and they are pretty comfortable, but I think, after reading other reviews, that they will continue to get more comfy as they get broken in. They do feel like they may run a half size too small. They just feel a little snug in the heel. I think it might be that they feel "short" because the heel is more narrow than some other boots I had tried on. I do recommend these boots!

The ... already has a worn in look and feel to it, and I fell immediately fell in love with them........ until I tried to put them on my feet. This is my second pair of Frye's. I also own the Paige Tall Riding in a size 8, which was a perfect fit for me from day one. After reading other customer reviews, I ordered the Veronica Slouch in an 8.5. When I tried to put them on, I had a very difficult time shoving my heel into the ... Once I got them on, I could feel my toes beginning to fall asleep. The problem with these boots isn't in the length, it's in the tightness of the ... around the bones in the top of the foot (this is also what causes difficulty in putting them on). The strap is adjustable, but it's purely decorative. I wore them around the house for a couple of hours last night hoping the ... would stretch a little bit. I haven't decided yet whether I will return them or keep them and hope they will stretch out with wear. I really wanted to love these boots, but they may have to go back.
Great mid calf boots I purchased these boots because I wanted something between 'high boots' and cowgirl boots, and they are perfect. I agree with another review that the ... fits loosely in the ankle/leg, but I don't think this is unusual for shorter/mid calf ... styles. I have thin ankles and calves, and I like the roominess for comfort and a more casual style. I purchased the dark brown, which has a slightly worn in feel out of the box - nice! Wear these with skinny jeans, ... cut jeans, and casual dresses and skirts. They are very versatile. This is my third pair of Fryes, and I find all Fryes wear beautifully, fit consistently, shape to your foot over time (if they feel a little tight at any one spot upon initially trying on, wear them for 30 min in your house on smooth surfaces, and they will loosen up quickly), and score high points for timeless style. I am a size 8.5-9 med width, and ... 9 are perfect. The Heath ... fits more like a cowgirl ... slight amount of slip in the heel. Bottom line, if you want a versatile ... less aggressive than an engineer, harness, or cowgirl style and lower than a typical full calf style, this is your ... They are great, and worth the price!
... First Timer This is my first pair of Frye's. I wanted them last year, and the year before that, so I finally bit the bullet and splurged. I was SUPER hesitant to spend the money on these but am glad I finally did!! (Piperlime's easy return policy took the pressure off of what to do if they didn't work out). I wear about an 11-11.5, sometimes a 12, (depending on brand) and have a closet full of shoes that felt o.k. when I first bought them, and ended up being a waste of money because they never broke in and felt comfortable. The Heath's were a little hard to pull on right out of the box, but felt relatively comfortable from the get go. VERY unusual for me and footwear. I wore them around the house and they were pretty comfortable. The heel hight is nice, the footbed is nice and cushiony, ... soft & pretty, and the ... nice height on the leg. They don't look huge or clunky as I worried they would be on my big feet (I also ordered the ... Campus from Zappos to compare, since I like the height of the shaft on that ... but on a size 11+ foot, that style was far to sloppy for me, though the height was nice) and they look cool with skirts. The one ... did have some issues with a clump of stitching on the inside by my ankle, which was not the case with the other shoe and was very irritating, but I exchanged them for another pair and it was fine. My first trip out of the house in these boots, was a craft fair, so I was walking around for quite a while. The heel slips a little, but nothing that changing socks didn't resolve. After a few hours on my feet, I was still comfortable, had no blisters or sore feet, and extremely happy with how they wore. This RARELY happens to me, so I consider this to be a match made in shoe heaven! I've met my sole mate with ...
Awesome ... I love these ... my 2nd pair of Fryes, and the quality of this pair lives up to the name. They are well made, and comfortable. I can tell they will get more comfortable with age, they do need to break in. The ... soft and supple. I have very skinny calves and narrow feet/ankes...these ... bit big in the calf, but I like the looser/slouchier fit.
