THESE SHORTS ROCK!!! These shorts are well made, super comfortable and stylish. The fit is fabulous! I had purchased Sanctuary's Peace shorts from another vendor in white, poppy, and khaki. When they became available in black, I knew I had to have them. I was not disappointed. Same great fit, fell and look! I adore these shorts! I appreciate the comments from another reviewer regarding bleeding of dye. Although I have not had this experience with either the lighter colors or the red, I will take it into consideratrion with the black. Still would not influence my purchase decision...I highly recommend these shorts!
Wash separately Overall good pair of shorts. They fit well. These are the type of every day shorts that you can wear on hot days to run errands or just hang out. The only thing i would recommend is to at least for a couple of times, wash separately since the color bleeds a lot.
love ''em! i won't usually spend so much on shorts, or even on long pants for that matter! aside from my climbing and ski pants these shorts are more expensive than anything i own! but the peace shorts are worth it!! belt is kinda chintzy but it actually looks quite good on the shorts as it's flat and low profile (and i'm not even a belt person -- shortwaisted, so belts rarely show anyway, and i'm not a shirt tucker-inner). length is perfect rolled up, about 4", and i like anywhere between 3-5" (i'm 5' 7 1/2"). but they also look great rolled down. i got the rhubarb because i adore bright colors and already have enough pants in light, earthy tones ; although, these are so great i might not care what color. still, the orangey red color is most fantastic. the fit is absolutely perfect and the back pockets make me look like i've got a great butt again (i'm 50 & it's gotten smaller over the years no matter how much yoga i do :) the low ish waist is super flattering. i was concerned about sizing but the 27 is just right, like it was made for me. i'm a 26 or 27, 28 in juniors usually (sizes 4, 5 or 6). my (high) waist is actually around 28" but i always order by hip size and my hips are about 36 1/2" and i like my pants on the snug side. so glad i took a chance on these. i think they'll be my favorite summer pants.
Flattering ... shorter girl... I recently ordered this ... Cayenne color. I am ... so it is somewhat difficult to find shorts that are flattering on me. I love how you can wear them long like a bermuda ... rolled up once, or twice for a shorter look. It looks flattering all 3 ways and they are soft and wash well! It also comes with a cute belt which I did not notice in the picture. I am 5'1", 100 pounds, and ordered a size 25 - which was the perfect size and my typical size. I am hoping for a sale soon so I can order these shorts in more colors!
Second Pair I bought these shorts last summer in olive drab. They were my "go to" shorts. Wanted them last year in the rhubarb, but they were sold out. I was so glad to see them again this season. Purchased them and love them! I am 5'9'", 140# and the 27 fits generously. I am in my mid 40's, so don't wear shorts skin tight. I usually wear a 27 in jeans, as well.
Sanctuary Peace ... I bought a pair of these shorts last summer and liked the way they looked. They have a nice fit in the legs and make them look slim and also they are not just back yard shorts; these can be worn out & about to do errands or whatever. The colors this year are bright and I bought two pair, the red & light green. Can't wait to wear them.
Quality & Style I bought this shorts on sale in the winter because I am going away and I am so happy I did - they are much softer than the typical Sanctuary peace shorts - love the color too!
cute shorts but very inconsistent sizing! i have these shorts in rhubarb, size 27. and i also have 3 pair of peace pants, size 26; because the pants have some spandex, unlike the 100% cotton shorts, i can wear a smaller size. just got another pair of shorts, great cobalt blue color, in 27 and they're too small! talk about inconsistent sizing. i do remember trying on one pair of 26 pants that was too small so i guess i shouldn't be surprised that sizes vary with color or even *within* color. for reference, i buy by hip size, which is 36 1/2 for me. anyway, if you buy the shorts, they are darling but be prepared to buy a couple different sizes, or maybe just get lucky with one size like i did with my first few purchases. now i'm stuck with shorts that just *barely* fit, very uncomfy, that i can't send back. at least they were cheap but i am disappointed that they will go into my sell in-the spring pile...
Great shorts I have a hard time finding shorts that actually look good on me and flatter my figure, since I am a pretty curvy pear shape. These fit the bill. I ordered a size up from what I normally buy in jeans, and it was perfect (I also ordered 2 sizes up in a different color, because some reviews mentioned that, but that size was way too big). I wouldn't say these are "nice", but they are really cute and casual and seem like they will be a good standby. The length was a bit long when they arrived (a little too matronly for me), but I rolled them up shorts one more time, and they are perfect. Not too ... all.
Good, and bad. Overall liked these shorts. I thought the quality was great and they fit nicely. Don't think they do too much for your rear, though, I feel like it looks much bigger with the shorts on. Decided that the good outweighed the bad and I am keeping them.
Go To Weekend Shorts Cute shorts, got it in rhubarb and it's like a bright tomato color, great for summer. Only 3 stars because I think they're overpriced and when the shorts are rolled up they get a little bulky.
