Smiling! Love my new boots! I am still breaking them in - as advised by other review writers. They are actually quite comfortable, but the part around my calves is still very stiff. The color and quality of the boots is awesome and I think that I am going to enjoy them for a very long time. Very excited about wearing them with skirts, dresses, and jeans. Going to be a great ... winter!
Classic. Frye Engineers are, without question, the finest boots I've ever owned. I read a lot of recommendations that said to go up a 1/2 size, but unless you need ultra thick socks, I wouldn't. These ... tough, sturdy, look cooler the more worn in they become, and adjust well when the straps are tightened. The first day of wear was comfortable, but admittedly I blistered like mad after extended wear. But now they're pretty much bedroom slipper comfortable. I took the advice of the manufacturer and treated the leather and seams with mink oil, and they've retained their shape and color and gained some water resistance. They can be ornery to get on the first few times, but I compare the fit to a slim cowboy ... shaft. I'd steer clear of light colored socks until the insides are well worn, or you'll be looking at some stained heels and toes. But if you like firm footing and a high arch, you have found your Valhalla.
Fantastic! I have been wanting a pair of Frye's for a very long time! I was in the "why spend almost $300 on a pair when I can get a pair that is similar for [$]", however, I have jumped ship! That great saying, you get what you pay for! These boots are AHHHH Mazing, and for someone who has a wonderful collection of leather boots from Italy, Spain and South America, I have to say these are at the very top of the best! They are thick leather so for the first couple of wears you are going to need to wear thick socks to break them in. They are a great ... just about anything! I'm extremely flat footed so it was a pain to get these on at first, but now, there's no problem. These boots are totally worth the $$$ and do not look cheap!
Awesome ... but.... I really, really like these boots. Well made and the leather is lovely. They will hold up well over the years. But... they are difficult to get on and off. Try as I might, I wasn't able to get my foot into one of the boots with the original pair I ordered, but based also on other reviews, I ordered another pair, and what do you know? They were slightly easier to put on. I took them in to a cobbler to have the insteps heat stretched. It helped a little, but I'll still have to continue breaking them in. I usually don't go through this much trouble with a pair of shoes and would normally just return them, but I love the looks of them and they are comfortable once they are on. A little wide in the heels, but overall feels true to size. I usually wear size 8.5 to 9, but if I had ordered 9, it would have been too big, though maybe easier to put on. I hold out hope I'll be able to break them in soon!
wanted to love them I thought the ... felt true to size. I ordered my normal shoe size because other reviews said they run big. I like to wear thicker socks with boots but definitely could not do that with these. I thought the boots were cute but none of my friends or husband liked them. And for the $ I couldn't justify keeping boots no one liked. So I sent them back.
Wish I was taller... I really wanted these boots to work because I was looking for a cute motorcycle ... pair with a flowery spring dress. I am 5'1 and when I tried on these boots they just hit my legs at a very awkward place that did not look good. I think that the height of this ... (9 inches) just is not flattering for shorter ladies. I ended up returning them and I am still on the hunt for my perfect motorcycle ...

Amazing. These are my first pair of Frye ... but certainly not my last!! I've had these since summer and they are my most favorite ... ever! When I received them they were a little more cowgirl than I had hoped but I fell in love with them anyway! I got them in the Dark Brown color and they are really rugged looking!! Perfect height they hit mid calf and you can dress them up or down depending on your style! Defiantly an all year-round ... I've gotten so many compliments on them and I feel like I can conquer the world in them! You defiantly get what you pay for and I certainly wouldn't think twice about buying another pair of Frye ...
