Great classic shoe for your little tyke...
I like to keep my son's look very classic and simple... think Norman Rockwell. This shoe is the perfect addition. It is such a simple and classic little boy ... doesn't light up, it doesn't have any big tacky logo on it... it's perfect. I originally purchased the Chuck Taylor All Star Simple Slip, but returned for this pair since he wasn't walking well in those. He had been walking well for 3 months, and when I transitioned him to that shoe, he would slap his feet when walking and often try to take off the shoe. Also, the Simple Slip seemed to slip off his feet often. I have seen older toddlers walk well in them, so maybe that shoe is not good for newer walkers bc the velcro cannot be tightened sufficiently? In any event, these shoes are fabulous. They look great, the go with everything, and they stay securely on his feet. Great buy. Will be getting in next size up for fall...

runs large
These sneakers are adorable! My son loves them because he can put them on himself because of the velcro closure. They definitely run a full size too large. I originally ordered a size 10 (his usual size) and they were huge on him so I returned them and got a size 9 and they fit great and have a little room for him to grow into.

Ok, but another Converse style is better...
I am all about keeping my little man in a classic little boy shoe, like chucks, BUT, these are not the ones that work for the age/developmental stage he is in. He is 15 months, has been walking since he was 12.5 months, but these shoes don't tighten securely on his feet to allow for comfortable walking. They are super cute, as are all navy blue chucks, but they are not easy to put on securely/tightly bc of where the velcro is located. My son's feet were slipping out of them, he would slap his feet down on the ground when he walked, and he would often squat down to take them off. I transitioned him from Robeez Mini Shoes High Top Hanks when he started walking more steadily, and he had been walking fine in those. When I swapped these out for the same size but a different style converse ... Chuck Taylor All Star 2 Strap, that has 2 velcro straps extending across the tongue of the ... these shoes worked MUCH better. He walks without any issues in them, and they look equally as cute on him. I have seen older toddlers able to wear this style without issues, so I wonder if it has something to do with being a more experienced walker? In any event, I would hold off on this style until your toddler is a bit older...

Chuck Taylor slip ons
I bought these for my son and he normally fits 10 in his jordan and nike sneakers. These seem to run big. It is very convenient to have him jsut slip these on with the velcro part hidden on the side BUT the only problem he has when he wears them is he keeps tripping when he walks or runs. I don't recommend this for kids that have chubby flat feet. He seems to be uncomfortable if he walks for long distances.

My son, who is 22 month, tried on a size 7 but it was tight on him. I ordered an 8 but he won't be able to wear them for awhile because they slip off when he tries to walk in them.
