Best boots I''ve ever owned! Like other reviewers have said, these boots do run a size too large (I'm an 11 and I bought a 10, they're perfect). I also noticed that they rub on the back of the ankle but I found that a pair of thick socks (which you should probably be wearing with these boots anyway) and tightly lacing them takes care of the problem completely. The first time I ever wore these boots was to walk 8 blocks to the grocery store during a snow storm. I felt like I was taking a stroll in the park, these boots have amazing traction and they're amazing for anyone who lives where snow storms are frequent, such as the midwest...or alaska. Definitely worth the investment as Sorel boots have a reputation for lasting a LONG time, unlike Uggs, which maybe last 3 years if you baby them and waterproof them constantly (speaking from experience).
Gorgeous and comfy I bought these boots because I love the sorel line. They do tend to run about 1/2 size too big so size down when you order. I did read some comments about them being stiff and hard to walk in. the nature of Sorel is the genuine hide which is naturally stiff. This is the reason my first pair of Sorel lasted 20 years! I only bought these because I wanted a new style. Don't expect to run in these boots but they are still very easy to move in. I found them extremely comforatble and warm plus they look good with jeans and a sweater. I love these boots and would definitely recommend them.
Great ... I've had these boots over 3 weeks now and LOVE them! They are super cute but my feet are warm, dry and toasty (in over 2 feet of ongoing snow). Tread is good too. Had compliments as well. Boots [...] were 40-50 less on this site than in the store or other sites. VERY HAPPY with boots and service! Only downsides- does seem to run approx 1/2 size large, ... leg is a little stiff but after 3 weeks hardly noticiable, and pull tabs are actually snaps, so sometimes when you pull ... unsnap but you just snap back down. LOVE this ... Completely recommend for wintery areas especially.
I recommend these chick boots that are tough enough to plow in They are just what I was looking for to replace a pair of 15 year old Eddie Bauer boots that finally cracked due to age--which I loved so much I would have glued together if I could. These are basically the same style I had before: waterproof rubber at the bottom, securely attached to a leather upper that laces up, and a removable warm inner liner topped with fur. But they are a little taller, a little narrower, a little more refined, a little more girly 'cause of that tuft of fur at the top. I ordered the light tan version, which might not have been a practical color but LOOK SWEET. As with many people one foot is a little bigger than the other (I can wear a generous 7) and I have a very high instep; unfortunately they were a smidge too tight to wear with a bulky sock if I wanted so I finally decided to exchange for larger. The store was out of the tan in the 8 so I ended up with the no quite-as sweet but-still great-looking and-able to-hide dirt-better brown. I made the right decision to exchange, but still hunger for those tans. Anyway, these are great boots!
PERFECT for harsh winters!!! I ordered these boots over Christmas and finally got a chance to really test them today. We had a huge snowstorm in Chicago and these boots are the BEST ones I've ever had! My feet were completely warm and dry- and I didn't feel like I was slipped in the snow at all! Plus I get a ton of compliments on them! I LOVE LOVE LOVE these boots!
Sweeet!!!! L O-V E these boots! Mine seem to fit true to-size, so no complaints there. They feel very sturdy & like they'll be the perfect warm boots for tromping around in the Michigan winter. Best of all, they're also awesomely cute and not nearly as 'masculine' as most functional winter boots. Can't wait to rock these boots in the snow!!
Love my Sorel''s Love my boots, arrived about 1 wk after ordering them. It's true these boots run big about 1 size. I wear a 8, I ordered a 7 and they are perfect. color was true to picture. If you order you will not regret these boots. Enjoy!!
Nice, but a little frilly . . . I bought both the Joan of Arctic and the Caribou boots. Because the styles are similar, I feel a head to head comparison is fair. The Joan of Arctic boots are not a sturdy as the Caribou boots. The tread is much less grippy and although the fur on the top is a nice touch, it doesn't add any functionality. From an insulation standpoint, the Caribou have much thicker liners and I believe are much warmer. Get the Joan of Arctic to look stylish apres ski - it has a much less industrial look. Get the Caribou for all serious outdoor uses including snowshoeing and generally being out in the snow and cold weather. Oh, and I normally wear 8 1/2 in boots, but the 8 fit perfect in Sorels.
Love these boots! I bought these boots for the snowy days in New England. They are very warm and comfortable and they keep my feet dry. I love the fur around the top....it adds some style to the ... They are easy to get on and tie in a hurry. The only down fall is that the boots are a little stiff on the ankle making it hard to flex your foot....driving in these boots is a little difficult. I'm hoping the boots soften up a little with wear.
They looked nice in the picture, but... They looked nice in the picture, but slipped and slided around my feet after putting them on. I usually wear an 8.5, so I ordered a 9 and it was just way too big, with extra room around the ankles. They were even too big for my husband. The boots are really cute and perfect for winter (sooo warm! my feet were getting warm just from wearing them for 2 minutes). I'm going to go to a local store that sells the same brand and get fitted, then consider re ordering these boots in a smaller size. I still have hope! However, I am not overly optimistic since the boots were once made in Canada, and now they're made in China. What a disappointment.
Beautiful but Beware! My time with these boots was very short. They are beautiful boots and seem to be perfect for keeping your feet warm and comfy. Unfortunately my time with them was very brief since I had to return them. I have thick calves and thought that since they ran a size bigger they would fit better than most boots, but the boots really run big, a whole size bigger. Even the area around my calf was bulky. I returned them and ordered a different ... since even though they looked beautiful, I felt them to be a bit to clunky, but if you order them a size smaller than your regular size, you might have better luck!
