Too Cute!
These rain boots are too cute, and look very sturdy. Got them for my grandson!

Warning...
...if you buy these adorable rain boots, your child will not want to wear anything else! They are so, so cute. They are true to size. I was expecting them to run a little big. So, for my 20 month old with chubby legs, it's a little difficult stuffing his pants inside the boots. He's been demanding them everyday, so I actually have to hide them from time to time to so he'll wear some of his other shoes.

Fun and comfy boots!..
These rain boots are awesome! My 2yr old son absolutely loves them. He even wears them inside the house while playing. My husband and I just bought him a new pair of sneakers for his 2nd yr birthday and because my son LOVES these boots so much, he even wore them at his own party! They are comfortable, easy to put on and have good traction. I highly recommend these boots to parents with imaginative toddlers.

Very impressed
The boots are incredible. Very comfortable, built extremely well, and they will certainly last (not to mention that they look great). They might take a little while to break into b/c of the sturdy construction, but once they do, you'll love them.

Excellent boots
I've owned Red Wings before. A previous pair lasted for over 5 years of heavy use and three new soles. Craftsmanship on these boots is outstanding, boots are sturdy, Vibram sole is solid. I'm happy to see that these are still made in the USA, and the quality hasn't gone down the tubes like many shoe companies. I don't mind paying a premium price for a premium product that will last. I'm a big guy (6'4" @ 210 lbs with a size 13 foot) and I go through at least two pairs of shoes a year. I'm tired of spending $150 every six months on a pair of shoes that just end up in the trash. If you want a pair of real boots, you won't be disappointed with these. They fit like a glove, and I know they'll only get better with time & use.

Great boots for Minnesota winters
Purchased these boots a few weeks ago, and I already love them. They are a bit stiff at first - break in takes a while, but when they are all ready go they are the best boots I have ever owned. Seemed maybe a half size too big - but when they break in - they really form fit to your foot. Red Wing make a solid ... - you can wear them forever. A little spendy - but worth every penny. Do yourself a favor, and pick up a pair.

Beautiful but big!
The boots are true American craftmanship, and even better in person. Leather and construction are top grade, classic, and incredibly durable. He loved them! They ran half size big, so make sure you order at least half size down. After all these years, RedWings still make an amazing ... must have for every American man!

Love these boots!
I love these boots. I've looked for years for a pair of boots that will fit my large calves, and these are very roomy. It takes a few wearings to break them in, but now I can wear them all day. I'm saving up for another pair of Frye boots!

Awesome!
I saw Frye boots in a magazine and enjoyed the look and style of them. I took the plunge and bought these and crossed my fingers. My feet are a little wide and finding boots that fit is rather hard but these fit perfectly! The color is great, they look amazing, and the heel's not too tall. The only problem was that they were sort of hard to put on. But I found that if I put the boots on while the boots are standing up on the floor and slid my foot in, then it was pretty quick to get on. These are comfortable and stylish and for the price should last for a good long while. I would buy another pair for sure.

These are classic!
Love these boots, I tried another pair of Frye boots that rode up to my upper calf and they ran small, plus they were tight. These Engineer 12R's are awesome, I was able to slide right into them and they wear great. I haven't had any signs of blisters, as I've worn them for a couple weeks and you can wear them with jeans, casual pants, dresses or skirts. I would say you'd love them!!! Amazing Frye Engineer Boots!
I love, love, love these boots! They are exactly as I was hoping they would be. This was my first time ordering shoes online and wasn't sure what to do about sizing. I decided to go a 1/2 size up after looking at reviews and am really glad I did. The leather is fantastic, not quite brown or black, but I know it's going to wear in really well. I also have a larger calf and have had no problem with these boots. These boots were made for some kick- a "censored" stompin'!

So happy I finally got these!
I normally wear a 7.5 but those were a little too big so I returned them for a 7 and they fit much better. They were a little snug at first but a few days of wear is all it took to break them in. I wear athletic socks with them instead of heavier ... socks. They are a little heavy and I found myself dragging my feet the other day after a few hours of shopping at the mall but my feet didn't hurt. These are more of a utility ... than a fashion ... so I wouldn't take any stars off for that. I love the fact that, with a little care, they will last forever! This is my first pair of Frye's and I am so impressed. They look great with anything from skinny jeans to skirts. The rounded toe gives them a distinct look....not at all like cowboy boots and it makes them very versatile. I like the fact that the soles are oil resistant. I ride a motorcycle and the soles on my old boots would slip on the pavement at stop signs and stop lights due to the oil left behind by cars. I haven't tried these out on the bike yet but I'm sure they will perform much better than my old ones. [...] I had to exchange them for a smaller size. Plus, I got 10% off by going through [@]. LOVE.
I am in love with these boots!!!! I wasn't sure if it was possible, but they are better in person!!! Every Fall I'm always on the hunt for a pair of really great boots and sometimes it seams that there are none to be found. These are a new favorite!!!!

These are THE boots
I am so impressed--and these boots are keepers! I have been wanting these boots for a year or two, but have put off buying due to the somewhat higher price. I now know they were worth it, now that I have them in my possession-- they are comfortable (once you get them on), they don't squeeze the life out of your calves, and they are classic in style and well constructed from soft, sturdy leather. They are the kind of quality of boots that if ten years down the road I finally manage to wear out the soles, I will have them redone.

I''m in love
If I'm going to spend as much money on footwear as I do on groceries for two weeks, I want to make sure the shoes are near perfect or better. I was nervous about buying shoes online when I've never tried them on, so I went to the nearest store that sold Frye boots and tried on a similar pair. I have to say, it was the most helpful thing I did. Normally I wear about a 7.5 and occasionally an 8. I decided to get an 8 from Piperlime since they seemed to run small in the store. The toe box is much shorter than other styles of Frye boots (which was actually what I was looking for) and the shaft hits an inch or so below mid calf. When I made the commitment and bought the boots, I was stupidly excited to see them at my door. But when I put them on, I found them to be a bit looser in the instep than I would have liked. Fearing I made a mistake, I called a dealer for advice. Many of the reviews on here say they take time to 'break in' and 'stretch out,' which is really code for "I got huge blisters but I love them now!" Frye's are supposed to be a loose fitting ... dealer's advice was to put in a pair of insoles. Best. Advice. Ever. They fit perfectly now. And after wearing them for two weeks, I haven't yet had a blister and don't think I'll see one in the future. Beautiful deep brown color, incredible quality leather, trustworthy name, and a great style. Buy these boots!

Fantastic!
I have been wanting a pair of Frye's for a very long time! I was in the "why spend almost $300 on a pair when I can get a pair that is similar for [$]", however, I have jumped ship! That great saying, you get what you pay for! These boots are AHHHH Mazing, and for someone who has a wonderful collection of leather boots from Italy, Spain and South America, I have to say these are at the very top of the best! They are thick leather so for the first couple of wears you are going to need to wear thick socks to break them in. They are a great ... just about anything! I'm extremely flat footed so it was a pain to get these on at first, but now, there's no problem. These boots are totally worth the $$$ and do not look cheap!

These are really beautiful boots. Perfect length for a short ... can easily tuck in my skinny jeans or cargos. I love the roughed up texture. Scratches easily but thats part of the appeal to me, makes them look more rugged. My only complaint is that these boots are near impossible to take on/off. I have to have my husband help me nearly everytime, and I have narrow feet! The buckle that goes over the top of the foot is a little tight around the ... my opinion, and thats what gets my feet stuck every time... I'm still happy I bought them though, I get compliments on them all the time!

just got them
The boots are really stiff but I'm sure they will soften with wear. The sole is pretty firm and the boots slightly heavy. I'm finding they fit pretty true to size. Unless worn with thick socks, they fit comfortably and even loose with tights. I always have trouble with boots fitting my calves, and these are great! They are cut short and my legs have lots of room. Now just break them in and get used to the heel.

L O-V E these boots! Mine seem to fit true to-size, so no complaints there. They feel very sturdy & like they'll be the perfect warm boots for tromping around in the Michigan winter. Best boots I''ve ever owned!
Like other reviewers have said, these boots do run a size too large (I'm an 11 and I bought a 10, they're perfect). I also noticed that they rub on the back of the ankle but I found that a pair of thick socks (which you should probably be wearing with these boots anyway) and tightly lacing them takes care of the problem completely. The first time I ever wore these boots was to walk 8 blocks to the grocery store during a snow storm. I felt like I was taking a stroll in the park, these boots have amazing traction and they're amazing for anyone who lives where snow storms are frequent, such as the midwest...or alaska. Definitely worth the investment as Sorel boots have a reputation for lasting a LONG time, unlike Uggs, which maybe last 3 years if you baby them and waterproof them constantly (speaking from experience).

Exactly what I hoped for
These boots are adorable, comfortable, waterproof, super warm, and fit perfectly. They fit true to size. They're like a favorite pair of boots I used to have, and I'm so glad to find another pair like them. Other reviewers mentioned lack of ankle flexibility -- but they must never have worn boots before. If you're tromping through snow, plowing a driveway, or just plain cold, you'll appreciate the ankle support and comfort of their sturdiness. I wear them to work on public transit here in DC-- their traction is great on the slippery Metro floors -- and will also love them when I visit my best friend in Minnesota. These boots are perfect!!

Super Cute
I just got my boots today. Living in Minnesota with all the snow, I need good pair of winter boots. Besides being super warm, these boots are stylish AND comfortable. Since I work in a auto repair and tire shop, the floors are wet from snow dripping off the cars. These boots keep my feet dry. I received lots of compliments. Even the guys noticed them!

Nice, but a little frilly . . .
I bought both the Joan of Arctic and the Caribou boots. Because the styles are similar, I feel a head to head comparison is fair. The Joan of Arctic boots are not a sturdy as the Caribou boots. The tread is much less grippy and although the fur on the top is a nice touch, it doesn't add any functionality. From an insulation standpoint, the Caribou have much thicker liners and I believe are much warmer. Get the Joan of Arctic to look stylish apres ski - it has a much less industrial look. Get the Caribou for all serious outdoor uses including snowshoeing and generally being out in the snow and cold weather. Oh, and I normally wear 8 1/2 in boots, but the 8 fit perfect in Sorels.

You will definitely draw attention!
I bought these boots so that in the snow or cold rain my feet would stay dry and warm. These boots fill the bill perfectly! However, the foot bed is very large and wide and I feel cumbersome in them especially while I'm driving. These boots are NOT for running around town! My Uggs are my comfort boots - these are strictly for those bad weather days!!

Love these boots!
I bought these boots for the snowy days in New England. They are very warm and comfortable and they keep my feet dry. I love the fur around the top....it adds some style to the ... They are easy to get on and tie in a hurry. The only down fall is that the boots are a little stiff on the ankle making it hard to flex your foot....driving in these boots is a little difficult. I'm hoping the boots soften up a little with wear.

More Than I Expected
The boots are a little stiff which makes them hard to take off, but I think that will change after being worn a couple of times. They wrap your feet and legs in warmth. The soles are rugged. These are not wimply boots, not cutesy boots to be worn for fun. You know you can walk in the snow, slush and ice in these boots. They don't slide around on your legs or feet and they provide stability which you need in snow etc. A great pair of boots. Glad I bought them. I bought my normal size, didn't find them too large at all, with the lining of the ... my normal size fit just right.

They looked nice in the picture, but...
They looked nice in the picture, but slipped and slided around my feet after putting them on. I usually wear an 8.5, so I ordered a 9 and it was just way too big, with extra room around the ankles. They were even too big for my husband. The boots are really cute and perfect for winter (sooo warm! my feet were getting warm just from wearing them for 2 minutes). I'm going to go to a local store that sells the same brand and get fitted, then consider re ordering these boots in a smaller size. I still have hope! However, I am not overly optimistic since the boots were once made in Canada, and now they're made in China. What a disappointment.

Beautiful but Beware!
My time with these boots was very short. They are beautiful boots and seem to be perfect for keeping your feet warm and comfy. Unfortunately my time with them was very brief since I had to return them. I have thick calves and thought that since they ran a size bigger they would fit better than most boots, but the boots really run big, a whole size bigger. Even the area around my calf was bulky. I returned them and ordered a different ... since even though they looked beautiful, I felt them to be a bit to clunky, but if you order them a size smaller than your regular size, you might have better luck!

Great Boots!
These boots are great. Very easy to put on, sturdy for walking and they look great.

Great ... wide feet
My son has a wide foot and we have tried 3 other snow boots this was the last one before we gave up. If you need on that goes on a wide foot it does not get any better than this. Our 2.5 year old can put them on by himself as long as we tell him what foot to put them on. We will be buying these every year from now on.

Sturdy, warm and convenient.
Exactly what I needed. My son loves to play in the snow and the slush and he needs to be dry and warm in the Vermont winter weather and these boots do the job. [...]This was my first purchase with Piperlime and I will be using them again. I have Sorrel boots myself and they are great quality snow boots. The velcro closing makes it very convenient to put the boots on my 2 year old, even when holding a wiggly baby.

LOVE these boots. My 3 yr old loves them even more than I do. He can put them on himself. Very easy on and off. He loves to see rain or snow so he can wear these boots! He wore them on an all day snow tubing trip and his feet stayed warm and dry all day.

These Sorels are comfortable
At least that's what my four yr olds told me. They slid on easily and the boys jumped around the house. I wish they had them in sizes to fit my 7 yr old. The fur is full , and the boots appear to be made well. The price is reasonable, since the season is about to begin.

Not so much...
I thought these boots would be great, given the Sorel name, but snow always found it's way into these boots, no matter how tightly I pulled the strap. I was disappointed.
